All about Jatayu Nature Park

The India Saga Saga |

Jatayu Nature Park is a popular tourism destination in Kerala. The park is named after the mythical bird from Ramayana — Jatayu, who tried to rescue Sita from Ravana. The nature park has been started with the aim of promoting mythology, adventure, and wellness tourism. Located in Chadayamangalam village in the Kollam district of Kerala, this rock theme park is a beautiful sight as well as a sense of adventure for the tourists.

This park is the first public-private partnership tourism initiative between the Kerala government and Guruchandrika Builders and Property Private Limited. It is designed on a BOT (build-operate-transfer) model.

World’s largest bird sculpture
The sculpture is recognized as the world’s largest bird sculpture with dimensions of 200 feet in length, 150 feet in breadth, 70 feet in height and covers a floor area of 15,000 square feet made out of compacted concrete.

The statue is at the heart of the 65-acre large landscape of the Jatayu Nature Park, which is also known as Jatayu Earth’s Centre. A major attraction is an observatory located in Jatayu’s eye, from where visitors can enjoy a view of the nearby countryside that is full of picturesque valleys, mountains, and green cover.

Inside the sculpture, there is a functional multi-dimensional mini theatre. Within the sculpture, a multi-level museum is being developed, which will open in the next phase. Worth a mention is the world-class gondola facility and helicopter ride service that gives visitors a bird’s-eye view of the statue.

The sculpture sits where Jatayu took his last breath
Locals believe that the mythical bird from Ramayana fell there after being struck down by Ravana. The sculpture sits on top of a hill. This colossal sculpture is a ‘towering tribute to women’s safety and honour’.

As in Ramayana even though Jatayu could not stop Ravana from abducting Sita, his sacrifice symbolized valor and sacrifice for eons. The bird, a vulture, is not standing tall with his head held up. He is lying on his back, defeated, and injured with a broken wing. He is seen shrieking, with curled talons, as he gasps in the final moments of his life.

Despite this, he is still fighting to protect the woman Sita from being abducted, as he falls onto a rock. Standing as a symbol for the protection of women, this is how the artist-sculptor-filmmaker Rajiv Anchal envisioned Jatayu at the Jatayu Earth’s Centre in Kerala.

Eco-Friendly Tourism
The makers envision the entire area to be a sustainable eco-tourism spot for national as well as international tourists. Keeping up with this philosophy, the park has a huge rainwater reservoir built on the hilltop with a storage capacity of 1.5 million liters of water.

The farmers sell the fresh organic produce to the visitors through a dedicated stall area created in the park.

To further the cause of eco-tourism, the park employs solar energy to sustain its electricity needs. The makers want the park to be attractive for all kinds of tourists and hence have added facilities and adventure activities to augment visitors’ experiences. Some of these activities include zip-lining, rock-climbing, etc. The park is open for tourists, and tickets can be booked online.

Center issues new guidelines as new Covid strain reported in India

The India Saga Saga |

New Delhi: The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Wednesday announced a fresh set of travel guidelines as two new, highly more infectious Covid strains- the South African and the Brazilian strains that have been detected in the country.

The Health Ministry has said that the new rules apply to all international passengers coming to the country except those from the UK, Europe and Middle East.

So far, the South African strain of the virus has been detected in four people and the Brazil strain is seen in one. The Indian Council of Medical Research, the nodal body in the country’s battle against coronavirus confirmed that except them, the UK strain has also reported 187 cases so far in the country.

The new rules suggest that only passengers who test negative in RT-PCR tests 72 hours ahead of departure will be allowed to board the aircraft. The exception will be for passengers who are travelling because of a death in the family.

The health ministry tweeted: “Attention Passengers! All incoming international travellers (except travellers coming on flights originating from the UK, Europe and Middle East) should make sure that they follow the guidelines issued by @MoHFW_India”.

The notice advisory announced that passengers travelling through the UK, Europe and the Middle East have to compulsorily get an RT-PCR upon arrival at their own expense. This will cover passengers from South Africa and Brazil as well, since there are no direct flights from these two nations. If any passenger is found positive, the virus strain will be identified and a separate set of protocol will be followed for them.

According to Dr. Balram Bhargava, ICMR chief, “the existing vaccines have the potential to neutralise the UK variant and experiments are being done to map the effectiveness of the vaccines against the South African and Brazilian variants”.

“ICMR-NIV is attempting to isolate and culture the South African strain of Covid, while the Brazil variant of Covid has been isolated and cultured at ICMR-NIV-Pune,” he said.

The India Saga Saga |

Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd (ZHL) India’s leading emergency medical services provider Company. Over the 15 years it has been their aim to reduce the number of fatalities caused any chronic diseases by providing timely emergency medical help to the people within the golden hour in India.  They provide assistance through their services like medical helpline and ambulance services to patients/ callers in need in case of a medical emergency from anywhere at any time for immediate assistance. Over the years they have noted that one of the key reasons for usage of ambulances has been for people suffering from kidney disease and are undergoing long term treatment. We at Ziqitza Limited believes it is crucial that prevention of Kidney disease should become an important goal for the medical fraternity and public at large to encourage its detection and treatment that help saves more life.

About Kidney & Its functions

Kidneys are amazing organs located inside the abdomen below the rib cage. They are bean shaped and about size of your fist. All the blood in your body passes through kidneys multiple times in a day. They perform various important functions in the body which include the following

  • Filter the blood
  • Remove wastes, poisons and extra fluid from your blood
  • Control your body’s chemical balance
  • Help control your blood pressure
  • Help keep your bones healthy
  • Help you make red blood cells
  • Excrete the wastes in urine

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in India

Dr. Santosh Datar from Ziqitza Healthcare remarked, “CKD means a gradual loss of kidney function. Since kidney has a lot of reserve function, patients do not have symptoms or very few symptoms until kidney function is significantly impaired.” Once kidneys are damaged beyond repair, the condition cannot be cured. That is why it is important to undergo regular check-ups. Early diagnosis and management of CKD including control of underlying cause can delay or halt the progression of the disease.

Dr. Datar from Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd, based on research papers remarked that, there are certain conditions affecting the kidneys that occur with a greater incidence in women – for example, urinary tract infections that lead to infection and scarring of the kidneys and autoimmune diseases, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematous.

The most popular way of treating CKD in patient is to consider dialysis. Dialysis is the procedure for cleaning the blood, removes wastes and extra water since the kidneys are not able to do the job.  There are two types of dialysis, Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

Tips for taking care of Kidney

Dr. Santosh Datar of Ziqitza Healthcare shared few tips below on how to take care of kidney to ensure better health of the organ. Ziqitza Rajasthan has appreciated Dr. Datar’s view on prevention & treatment of Chronic Kidney disease.

  • Stay hydrated, drink adequate quantity of water throughout the day especially in summer season.

  • If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, ensure the levels are well controlled by lifestyle modifications, stress management and medicines prescribed by your doctor.

Discipline is of utmost importance at every stage of your journey, irrespective of your position: Ali Merchant, Founder and CEO, AM Infoweb

The India Saga Saga |

This is an excerpt from an interview with a man who knows what it takes to reach the top. We are talking about Ali Merchant, a thorough passionpreneur, philanthropist, life coach, and CEO of AM Infoweb, a leading Health Information Management Outsourcing company. We had the privilege of learning from the man himself about the concept of risk-taking and the intangible resources that go into generating the tangible output we call profit.

We know that you took the risk of starting something new, though you had the luxury of continuing in your already established family business. Clearly, you are a risk-taker and it has definitely paid off in the long run. So, we’d like to know, were you convinced about your decision and never harbored any doubts when you started off?

Ali confides, “Oh yes, I definitely had my moments. Feeling anxious about how your decision unfolds and what’s in store for you once you embark on your venture, are common concerns and in my opinion important to keep you on your toes. Because that’s how it is in the initial stages of any startup. You will always be running pillar to post to fit in all the pieces of the puzzle. That’s the precise feeling! It’s like you have a big picture in mind and you are trying to start by finding and then placing every piece in its place, and this goes on until the picture is complete.”

With the kind of success you have achieved, can we assume the picture is complete?

He answers with that unmistakable twinkle, “The first picture is complete, definitely, but there are quite a few pictures I’ve envisioned along my journey. So, right now I am busy finding the pieces of those puzzles. Our non-profit social welfare organization – The Bande Khuda Trust is one of those pictures.”

We agree The Bande Khuda Trust is definitely doing so much for the community, it makes quite a picture!

What is your advice to all the young ambitious minds who are dreaming of venturing out on their own and making it big in the industry?

Ali says, “It’s a long journey, and do not rack your brains over WHEN you will reach your destination rather work hard on HOW you can reach the destination. Simply speaking, proceed if you are convinced about your plan and then do not look back. Keep trying and always explore opportunities to improvise and add value to your existing plan. Creative ideas and customer knowledge are the backbone for survival and sustainability. Also learn the art of networking. It has helped me a lot.”

He also adds, “Taking risks can increase your probability of success but not guarantee success unless you put in a lot of hard work and other related factors that boost growth.”

It is common to hear about how virtues of resilience, hard work, skills, ethics, commitment, and the likes are important for success. According to you, which ideals have helped you climb the ladder?

“In my experience, I realized, ethics act as your ally in your journey. Your intrinsic nature is pivotal in attracting clients. It is not just the technical aspects that help attract and retain clients but your values, attitude, and skills. That’s how I designed the ACE (Attitude-Competence-Ethics) Triangle which forms the backbone of our organization’s culture. Apart from them, discipline is of utmost importance, at every stage of your journey – in life and career, irrespective of your position. Even today, I try to practice discipline at work, at home in terms of health and diet, and physical fitness too. What it does is, it ensures that you do what you are expected to do even if you don’t feel like it.”

“You want to stay healthy – DISCIPLINE. You want to live longer – DISCIPLINE. You want to achieve success – DISCIPLINE. You want to sustain success – DISCIPLINE. Make it a way of life and you will undeniably experience its positive effects in the long term.”

An interview with Ali Merchant is never disappointing, and yet again, he enchanted us with his genuine and unpretentious views on the initial struggles of a young entrepreneur and the most crucial elements to focus on while designing your roadmap to success. It’s been an honor to speak with him.

The choice to assuage Bedi is the finish of a long-running quarrel among her and V Narayanasamy, the Chief Minister of the Territory. The President has guided that Kiran Bedi will stop holding the workplace of the Lieutenant General of Puducherry and has delegated Tamilisai Soundararajan, legislative leader of Telangana, to release her from her duties.

According to the Chief Minister, Kiran Bedi’s removal was “a long pending demand of the Puducherry people”. He said, “was behaving in an autocratic manner, violating the rules of business, trying to run a parallel government, issuing independent orders against the wishes of the elected government”. Highly honored and inspiring Kiran Bedi had this expulsion coming when the decision by the Congress Government has lost its greater part after four of its MLAs resigned from the Assembly. Tamilisai Soundararajan has been given the additional charge as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry till a permanent replacement will be announced.

The ruling Government Congress-DMK alliance and the opposition AIADMK-BJP alliance now have 14 MLAs each in the House currently and have a current effective strength of 28. While the Opposition demanded the government’s resignation on Tuesday, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said he retained majority support.

The former IPS officer, Kiran Bedi said, “I thank the Government of India for a lifetime experience in serving Puducherry as its Lieutenant Governor. I also thank all who worked with me closely. I can say with a deep sense of satisfaction that during this tenure ‘Team Raj Nivas’ diligently worked to serve the larger public interest.” “Whatever was done was a sacred duty, fulfilling my constitutional and moral responsibilities. Puducherry has a very bright future. It’s now in the hands of the people. Wishing for a prosperous Puducherry,” she added as she bid farewell to the assembly.

Home Minister Amit Shah greeted the cops on Delhi Police Foundation Day

The India Saga Saga |

New Delhi: Today, on the occasion of 74th Delhi Police Foundation Day, honorable Home Minister Amit Shah extended his greetings to the Delhi Police personnel and their families. He praised the forces stating that it ensures capital security even under adverse circumstances.

Amit Shah has served as Home Minister of the country since 2019 and is in charge of the Delhi Police Force.

Mr. Shah took to his official Twitter handle to convey his greetings to the cops. He chose to tweet in Hindi today and wrote, “Heartfelt greetings to all personnel and their families on the 74th foundation day of Delhi Police. I salute the courage, restraint, and determination of the brave personnel of the Delhi Police who are fully dedicated to ensuring the security and peace of the country’s capital even under adverse circumstances.”

The foundation day is celebrated to mark the appointment of the first Chief of Delhi Police Mr. DW Mehra in 1948. Post-independence the forces had just about 8000 personnel but today the force owns the power of more than 80,000 personnel with 11 districts and almost 180 police stations in the capital.

Delhi Police has always been a matter of talks both among the citizens and the government. They are either praised because of their extraordinary work or criticized for controversies. But they have always been at the forefront of maintaining the law and order in the capital. Even during the global pandemic, when the world was locked inside they stood firmly on roads irrespectively of time. They assured that everyone follows the pandemic rules to minimize the spread. They too came up with innovative ideas to create awareness about the same.
