With a focus on obesity and metabolic disorders, Dr. Misra’s contributions to bariatric (weight loss) surgery are changing the way diabetes is managed and providing new hope to patients struggling with obesity-related complications, including Type 2 diabetes.

The Role of Metabolic (Bariatric) Surgery in Diabetes Management

Metabolic (bariatric) surgery has emerged as a powerful tool in diabetes management, especially for patients with obesity. Bariatric surgery involves surgical interventions that help patients achieve significant weight loss, which in turn can lead to substantial improvements—or even remission—of Type 2 diabetes. This surgery is particularly recommended for:

  • Patients with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or higher who also suffer from obesity-related health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease, as per the guidelines of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
  • Patients with a BMI between 30 and 34.9 who are unable to control their diabetes or other metabolic risk factors through medical treatment alone.

The benefits of bariatric surgery extend beyond weight loss. For many, it results in better glycemic control, reduced need for diabetes medications, and a lower risk of diabetes-related complications. Dr. Misra’s expertise in this field is making these life-changing outcomes accessible to a broader population.

How India will Qualify for WTC Final 2025

                      Shubham Tyagi |

After a shocking 3-0 loss in their home Test series against New Zealand, India’s chances of reaching the WTC Final in 2025 have become very slim. This is India’s first home series defeat in 12 years. It is also the first time a visiting team has whitewashed India in a 3-match Test series. The last time India suffered a whitewash in Tests was in 2000, when South Africa beat them in a 2-match series. Before this series, India was at the top of the WTC points table and needed to win just 4 more Test matches to qualify for the final. However, the heavy defeat has dropped India to second place and made their path to the final much harder.

Now, India will travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where they will play 5 Test matches. To have a chance at qualifying for the final, India must win at least four of these matches. Given the current form of the Indian team, it is difficult to predict that they will be able to beat the mighty Aussies on their home turf. India has managed to win in Australia twice before, but this time, the task seems almost impossible. However, Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood believes that the defeat against New Zealand may have awakened a sleeping giant. As we all know, a wounded Indians are a more dangerous team, India.

                      BGT 2024 Schedule

                      • 1st Test 22-26 November, Perth
                      • 2nd Test 6-10 December, Adelaide (Day Night Test)
                      • 3rd Test 14-18 December, Brisbane
                      • 4th Test 26-30 December, Melbourne (Boxing Day Test)
                      • 5th Test 3-7 January, Sydney

How India will qualify for the final of WTC 2025

Here is a breakdown of the scenarios that will determine whether India qualifies for the WTC 2025 final based on their performance in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia:

4-0 or 5-0 Win for India

If India manages to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a 4-0 or 5-0 scoreline, they will automatically qualify for the WTC 2025 final.

                      3-1, 3-0, or 4-1 Win for India

If India beats Australia 3-1, 3-0, or 4-1, and England avoids a whitewash in their three-match series against New Zealand, India will finish in the top two and secure a spot in the WTC final.

                      2-0 Win for India

If India wins the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-0 and England wins at least one Test against New Zealand (in November-December), India will qualify for the WTC 2025 final.

                      3-2 Win for India

If India wins the series 3-2, they will need England to win at least one Test against New Zealand, and Sri Lanka must draw one Test in their two-match series against Australia next year to qualify for the WTC final.

                      2-1, 1-1, or 1-0 Win for India

If India wins the series with a scoreline of 2-1, 1-1, or 1-0, then for qualification, England must avoid defeat in two Tests against New Zealand, and Sri Lanka must draw at least one Test against Australia.

                      2-2 Draw

If the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ends in a 2-2 draw, India can still qualify for the WTC final. Only if Sri Lanka wins their Test series against Australia, and New Zealand wins only one Test out of their three against England.

                      2-3 Defeat for India

If India loses the series 2-3, qualification will depend on results from other teams. India will need Sri Lanka and South Africa to lose at least two of their remaining four matches, and New Zealand should only win one of their three Tests against England.

                      1-2, 1-3, 0-1 Defeat or 0-0 Draw for India

If India loses 1-2, 1-3, or 0-1, or if the series ends in a 0-0 draw, India can still qualify if:

                      • England wins the series against New Zealand
                      • Pakistan beats South Africa 2-0
                      • Australia beats Sri Lanka 2-0
                      • The South Africa-Sri Lanka series ends 1-1

                      1-4, 0-2, or 0-3 Defeat for India

If India loses 1-4, 0-2, or 0-3, they will only qualify if:

                      • England whitewashes New Zealand (3-0)
                      • Pakistan beats South Africa 2-0
                      • Australia beats Sri Lanka 2-0
                      • The South Africa-Sri Lanka series ends 1-1

0-4 or 0-5 Defeat for India

If India loses the series 0-4 or 0-5, they will be eliminated from the race for the WTC 2025 final.

India’s road to the WTC final has become more complicated following their recent defeat to New Zealand. Depending on their performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. And the results from other series, they still have a slim chance to qualify for the 2025 final.

The Psychology of Money: 7 ways how to Save Money

                      Shubham Tyagi |

Saving money can feel like a challenge, especially when life is full of unexpected expenses. However, the truth is, anyone can save money with just a little planning and discipline. Whether you are trying to build an emergency fund, save for a big purchase, or just want to have more control over your finances, it all starts with making smart choices. In this blog, we will walk you through some easy, practical steps to help you save money without sacrificing your lifestyle. Let’s dive into the 7 ways how to save money

7 ways how to Save Money

                      1. Create a Budget

The first step in saving money is knowing where your money goes. Start by creating a budget. Write down your income and all your expenses. Include things like rent, groceries, and entertainment. This will help you see areas where you can cut back. A simple budget is a powerful tool for saving money.

                      2. Track Your Spending

Keep track of every penny you spend. There are apps and tools that can help you with this. When you know how much you’re spending, it’s easier to spot where you’re overspending. Cutting small, unnecessary expenses like buying coffee every day can add up to big savings over time.

                      3. Cut Unnecessary Expenses

Look for areas where you can save. Can you eat out less? Do you need all your subscriptions? Consider cancelling things you don’t use. Cutting back on small luxuries can make a big difference in the long run.

                      4. Set Savings Goals

It’s easier to save when you have a goal. Set a target amount to save each month. Whether it’s for an emergency fund, a vacation, or a big purchase, having a goal will keep you motivated. Start small, and as you get used to saving, you can increase the amount.

                      5. Pay Yourself First

One of the best ways to save money is by paying yourself first. After you receive your paycheck, set aside a portion for savings before you pay any bills. This habit ensures that saving money becomes a priority, not an afterthought.

                      6. Avoid Impulse Buying

Impulse buying can quickly empty your wallet. Before making any purchase, ask yourself if you really need it. Take a moment to think about it. Waiting 24 hours before buying something can help you avoid unnecessary purchases.

                      7. Save on Utilities

Cutting down on energy usage can save you money. Turn off lights when you leave a room, unplug appliances, and use energy-efficient bulbs. These small changes will reduce your electricity bill and help you save money.

Saving money doesn’t require drastic changes. It’s about making smart choices every day. By budgeting, tracking your spending, and cutting back on unnecessary expenses, you can build a healthy savings habit. Start today, and watch your savings grow over time!

They demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and the ability to master complex technologies. New Zealand Beats India in Test: The Fortress of the Turning Track Breached

                      Shubham Tyagi |

On a rainy day in Bengaluru, October 16th marked the start of the Test series between the wounded Kiwis and the overconfident Men in Blue. The first day was called off due to bad weather, leaving cricket experts to speculate that God had saved New Zealand. The Kiwis arrived after suffering a 2-0 defeat against the Sri Lankan lions. Meanwhile, the home team, unbeaten in the last 12 years on home soil, felt mighty. They had dispatched every challenger who attempted to breach their fortress of turning tracks. Conquering great teams like Australia and the aggressive “Bazball” of England. They had won 18 series in a row. New Zealand beats India in Test. That’s it, that’s the statement. Kiwis are the first who conquered the fortress of turning tracks.

New Zealand Beats India in First Test

When the sun finally emerged on the second day, the overconfident Indians won the toss and chose to bat first in overcast conditions. However, Matt Henry, with the new ball, proved to be a nightmare for India, echoing his performance from the 2019 Cricket World Cup semi-finals. The Indian batting lineup crumbled under the pressure, and they registered their all-time low score at home: all out for just 46. This was also the lowest score for any team in Asia.

New Zealand capitalized on this misstep, scoring a mammoth 402 and taking a lead of 356 runs. Rachin Ravindra shone with a brilliant century, while veteran Tim Southee added a quick fifty. India found themselves on the back foot. Yet, the wounded Indians were known to be dangerous. As expected, they fought back, with Rishabh Pant and Sarfraz Khan at the crease. Despite their efforts, the Kiwi bowlers restricted India to 462, giving Rohit Sharma’s team a lead of only 106.

In just three days, New Zealand hammered India, winning by eight wickets and taking a 1-0 lead in the series. After the match, some experts called it a fluke, while others pointed to a bad toss or the rain that helped the Kiwis. But New Zealand arrived in India with a different mindset.

New Zealand Beats India & won the Test series

As the caravan moved to Pune, India faced the pressure of defending their reputation as the strongest Test side. Historically, they had lost the first Test of a series before but always bounced back to win. The body language in the Indian dressing room suggested that it was merely a bad session that cost them the game, and they were determined to play sensibly moving forward.

On the morning of the Pune Test, fortune favored the brave as New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. This decision meant India would bat in the fourth innings on a rank turner, making it crucial for them to build a significant lead. New Zealand remained unchanged, while India made three changes: Shubman Gill replaced KL Rahul, Washington Sundar returned after three years in place of Kuldeep Yadav, and Akashdeep took Siraj’s spot.

New Zealand started slowly but gained momentum in the first two sessions, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra both scoring half-centuries. At one point, after losing three wickets for 197 runs, it seemed they would post another big total. Then Washington Sundar came into play, bowling like a cyclone and restricting the visitors to 259. The faces in the Indian camp brightened; this was the hallmark of Indian cricket. However, the Kiwis spoiled the party. By the end of day one, Tim Southee rattled the off stump of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who again became a victim of Tim. India was bowled out for just 156, trailing by 103 runs.

                      The Fortress has breached

Cricket expert Simon Doull commented, “There’s a misconception that modern Indian players are better at playing spin than others. They are not. Good quality spinners can dismiss India just as easily as Indian spinners can dismiss quality batters. When they see a turning track in the IPL, they often complain.”

There was a time when India finished games in just three days at home, and now they faced defeat at the hands of a visiting side. Twenty days prior, they had thrashed Bangladesh in a rain-affected match in just 2.5 days. Finally, the Kiwis broke the jinx of the rank turner, defeating India by 113 runs, reminiscent of how Cook, Petersen, Panesar and Swann triumphed in 2012.

Why did India lose? What cost them the series? Do these IPL pokies really understand how to handle spin? Are they genuinely interested in representing the country in longer formats, or is it just about fame? The five legends who built this fortress—Virat Kohli, R. Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ajinkya Rahane—were once the backbone of Indian cricket. Pujara and Rahane were dropped from the Test side, with the reasoning that they didn’t make Test cricket tempting. But one must ask the mighty Aussies what these two old-school stalwarts are capable of.

The remaining three Kohli, Ashwin, and Jadeja are still in the squad, yet they failed to perform in this series, leading to India’s loss of a Test series at home after 12 years.
