Unilever drops the word ‘Normal’ from its product packaging

The India Saga Saga |

Unilever, as a part of its positive beauty initiative, has recently reported that it will not utilize the word ‘normal’ in the advertising and bundling of its products. A report directed by the multinational conveyed that seven of every ten individuals accept that the word ‘normal’ utilized in product packaging and promotions has a negative effect on people. Understanding the critical effects it had, Unilever decided to make it a more positive space in its commercial arena.

Established over 100 years ago, Unilever is a multinational consumer goods company that provides fast-moving consumer goods. Its product categories include savory, dressings, spreads, ice cream, beverages, personal care, and home care.

As far as the beauty industry is concerned, the word ‘normal’ is used to portray skin that isn’t especially dry or sleek and is unaffected by conditions like skin inflammation or dermatitis. Seeing the word on products and in ads frequently causes individuals to feel barred and unfortunate, as it proposes that skin and hair outside of the standard portrayal are unusual.

With the move, the organization plans to make a more comprehensive vision of beauty by challenging age-old damaging ideals. Furthermore, the organization has sworn that it will at this point don’t carefully alter an individual’s body shape, size, extent, or skin tone across its advertising.

While these are simply little advances, they cause extraordinary effects. It’s astounding to realize that brands are finally stepping up to take responsibility for the way they make people feel. As Unilever takes a step in to make a change, it could be thought of as a step towards a revolution. Here’s to a more comprehensive, less unfair future!

Water Resource Management is key challenge for maintaining ‘Sonali Adhyay’ between India and Bangladesh

The India Saga |

If bilateral marathon meeting between Water resource secretaries under the mechanism of Joint River Commission, held on last Tuesday,  of the two countries is any indication then ‘Water Resource Management ‘ will be  one of the main challenges to keep the momentum of the bilateral ‘Sonali Adhyay’ between India and Bangladesh in the 50th year celebration of their diplomatic relations .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake two day visit to Bangladesh, his first foreign visit after the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, and will meet his counterpart Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 27 in Dhaka. Though the announcement from the External Affairs Ministry said,”this visit is in connection with the commemoration of three epochal events – Mujib Borsho, the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Bangladesh and 50 years of liberation struggle”, both the leaders have to set a specific guidelines for resolving water resource management which  ” directly impact the livelihood of people in the two countries.”

The  delegation level talks between India and Bangladesh has created a huge expectation in both the countries as Joint River Commission of two countries has not met since 2010. Bangladesh side was led by senior Secretary of Water Resource Ministry Mr  Muhammad Imran Kabir Bin Anwar and assisted by High Commissioner of Bangladesh in India Mr  Muhammad Imran.  Mr Pankaj Kumar, Secretary of Jal Shakti Ministry, led the Indian delegation. It took almost eight hours to finalise the minutes of the meeting with a lunch break in the middle. Finally, after the dinner both sides agreed to issue separate press statements flagging the issues raised by both countries.

Apart from raising the issue signing of water sharing agreement of Teesta river which was inked by the two Secretaries of two countries in the year 2011, Dhaka  has opened the issue of ‘optimum utilization of  the water received by Bangladesh under the provisions of Ganges water sharing agreement of 1996’. They proposed a joint feasibility study of the flow of water during the lean period which was mandated in the treaty, by both India and Bangladesh.  Ganges water treaty was signed in 1996 and is due for renewal in the year 2026 as the treaty was in force for 30 years since then.

Water resource Secretary also raised the issue of remaining excavation work on the Rahimpur Khal for utilization of Kushiyara river water for irrigation purpose. Sources present in the meeting told that Indian side has requested to discuss all these issues including sharing of water of six trans-boundary  rivers which are in discussion for several years, after the assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam get over in May. Those rivers, such as Dudhkumar, Muhuri,Gomti, Manu,Khowai and Dharala ,are basically flowing from North East India .

Certain contentious issues were raised by the both sides on which no consensus could be achieved. Bangladesh side has referred to the pollution of  legendary river Titas which is continously polluted by the other rivers of Indian side like Janji and a channel which carries waste material. In fact, navigability of the river was reduced as huge boulders were dropped in the bed of the river to give access for making road connectivity to Akhaura-Agartala. Bangladesh side claimed that for the sake of connectivity they have sacrificed a lively river called Titas. Whatever channel of the river is alive now should be protected. They also raised the reduced flow of Mahananda river as West Bengal withdraws excess water from the river.

Indian side  urged the implementation of MOU for withdrwing water from the Feni river for drinking purpose for the city of Sabroom of Tripura .The MOU was signed during the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India in 2018 , but till today the mechanism has not been working. Discussions was held on finalisation of water sharing agreement of Feni river and less flow of water in the Attreyi, Punorbhava and Tangon and pollution of Mathavanga and Churni rivers due to effluent released from sugar mills of Bangladesh .

Later, a press release issued by the High Commission of India in  Dhaka said, “both sides agreed to expand cooperation across an entire gamut of water resources issues including framework for sharing of river waters, mitigation of pollution, river bank protection, flood management, basin management etc. A Joint Technical Working Group will provide inputs on the matter”.

Though there was no breakthrough in the meeting, both sides are happy that the “process of Joint River Commission meeting has been set in motion” and a ministerial level meeting might be held very soon.” Both the Secretaries also met the Jalshakti Minister  Gajendra Sekhwat and invited him for JRC meeting in Dhaka.

Sardool Sikander’s ‘Eklavya’ Nobby Singh pays tribute to his ‘Dronahcharya’ with emotional song

The India Saga Saga |

It was February 14 when Punjab lost one of its legends in the form of Sardul Sikander who died in Mohali. The Punjabi industry was pained and started paying tribute to the departed soul in their own way. Some recalled the memories with Sikander while some of them came with songs for the legendary singer.

Similarly, Punjabi singer Nobby Singh came up with an emotional song to pay tribute to his ‘Dronacharya’. Nobby considers the late Sardul Sikandar as his teacher and takes inspiration from his songs and thus calls himself ‘Eklavya’. He tries to give a new dimension to his singing with the lessons that he got from Sikander.

Nobby lent his voice to an emotional and painful song ‘Asin Jis Lai Duniya Chhad Ditti’. The song is considered to be very difficult to sing. However, he sang it so beautifully in an order to pay tribute to the late Punjabi singer Sardul Sikander.

He connected people with his voice and emotions that show the potential of the Punjabi singer. Maybe that’s the reason why his song received immense love and support. The song has gone viral even among the fans of Sardul Sikandar and music lovers.

The video of Nobby Singh has garnered more than one lakh views and shares in just two days on Facebook, more than 2 lakh views on Instagram and still counting.

It has become popular among the people that means Sardul Sikandar is still in the hearts of people. And those who seek inspiration from him are getting love simultaneously.

Nobby Singh is an emerging star who has sung many songs including Revolver, Thakkiyan. Perhaps, there are many more new projects which would be released soon. These include songs that would be released in April and the other in May.

From a School Failure to the Founder of Angry Youth NGO, This is Pallu Gupta’s Inspiring Story

The India Saga Saga |

No human has ever become successful by only winning.

To be failed is very important. The more you fail and improve, the better you are as a person.

A Youth Pallu Gupta alias Shubham Gupta living in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh proved the above lines right.

At the age of 17 in 2011, he went to Cyber Cafe to check his Intermediate CBSE board exam result.

But surprisingly he got failed in mathematics. Being feared about Father’s angry reaction he refused to go home instead he went railway station directly from the cafe and spent the whole day there.

According to him, he felt extremely suicidal till noon, but then he started observing the worst life of homeless people living there.

Homeless children were hungry and fighting for food. They did not have even clothes and conditions were so unhygienic. Most of the parents were handicapped and helpless.

Even there were people having maggots in their heads and wounds. All these terrific things made him realize that the real problem of life was not what he was going through but was those people were going through.

This incident made him went back to his home and from the very next day, he started helping them and working for their welfare at the individual level.

Meanwhile, he read about Sahid Bhagat Singh and other revolutionaries which made him feel the need of a team. So, he Founded Bhagat Singh’s ideology-based NGO Angry Youth in 2012, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He is the Founder and the National President of Angry Youth. Now he has spread his teams & branches in Kanpur, Agra, Surat, Firozabaad, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarpur, Delhi and Mumbai.

It has been almost 10 years of his involvement in social services and a lot has been achieved by him.

During this period more than 400 social events like Food Drives, Ration Donation Drives, Clothes Donation, Awareness Programs, Plantation Events, Health Care Events etc. have been organized by him and his team.

They are running many projects and one of them is ” Parwah ” in which they donate Sanitary Pads to Women living in Slums during their Menstruation. One other Project is “Adopt the Hunger” in which they provide a Food kit to the people who are not physically or mentally capable on monthly basis.

They are running free Classes under the project “Padhoge likhoge to banoge nawab” for underprivileged children to develop skills and other special habits in them.

During Corona Pandemic he along with his team fed more than 1200 Migrants workers and needy people on the daily basis. Many of the Media Houses and other Social Organizations have honored him for his contribution to society.

He is an Advocate by Profession and wants to be an IPS officer to make sure all the victims get justice. A lot of challenges have been faced by him during these last 10 years and one of them is to win the trust of the people to get involved in social services with Angry Youth as the Image of Social service-based NGOs is not so good in society. The other challenge was monetary arrangements for the NGO in starting phase.

One more challenge was to balance the studies and leading the Angry Youth as President at the same time.

But nothing was able to stop him from achieving his goals. He started alone at but now more than 1000 Youth directly and indirectly are contributing with him in the Social Services.

The Vision of Angry Youth is that capable people want to help the needy but they do not have a Transparent, Practical and Honest medium to approach them.

The NGO is working as a Bridge between the capable and the needy so the capable one can reach to the needy one through us and can change his life.

He named the NGO as Angry Youth because what he thinks is if one wants the positive change in the society then one has to have the Anger against the negative things exist in the society. Anger is always the first step of the change and the second may be Violence or Non-violence depends on the need of time like Mahatma Gandhi and Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

In Today’s world the need of time is only Nonviolence and that is the path we adopted. This is how the NGO got it’s name ANGRY YOUTH and Slogan The Pacifism Leading by Anger.

Indian Women to play for pride against South Africa in 5th ODI

The India Saga Saga |

Lucknow: Indian Women’s Cricket Team will be playing against South Africa Women’s Team in the fifth and final one-day International on Wednesday, i.e March 17, 2021.

With the series already out of their grasp, the Indian Team dwindled to put up a good match against the Africans. Barring the convincingly nine-wicket win in the second match, the Indian women have barely fired in unison while the South Africans, who have already clinched the series 3-1, have excelled as a team. They now would be playing only for the sake of pride of their country. One can’t call it entirely their fault as these were their first time on the field after an year long pandemic and lack of practice. On the other hand South Africa had recently brushed up their skills with a victory over the Pakistan team at home.

The Indian team also missed the talent of Shafali Verma at the top of the order of Shikha Pandey in the bowling department. Indian spinners, save Rajeshwari Gayakwad (5 wickets from 4 matches), were a big let-down on the slow tracks which contributed as a major reason in India’s series loss when the South Africans chased down 249 and 267 in the third and fourth matches. Senior leg-spinner Poonam Yadav also didn’t get a single batter out in the four matches she has played so far.

Indian Women’s Cricket Team Captain Mithali Raj and her deputy Harmapreet Kaur were the two consistent batters while star opener Smriti Mandhana rose only in the second match. Top-order batter Punam Raut has been in sensational form with scores of 10, 62 not out, 77 and 104 not out in the four games.

Tauseef finally launches his own production house after mastering the art of fashion photography

The India Saga Saga |

” Some heroes wear masks ” – This catchphrase may sound very fascinating but appears utopian. A person who does prominent work never goes unrecognized, but this man from Bollywood, Tauseef, is one of the living epitomes of such. People have barely heard his name, but have loved his works. Tauseef is a fashion photographer who also directs and produces films. He is going to make his directorial debut with Odisha tourism soon.

Tauseef has worked to be where he is today. He started as a fashion photo assistant and after a few years, he became a photographer himself. His interest and creativity in the art led him to this field. He has worked as a chief assistant photographer at Pravin Talan Photography and also was the former director and fashion photographer at Tauseef S Photography. This organization works with top Bollywood celebrities and is very famous. Much later, he started working as an assistant director and then slowly paved his way to direct and produce films himself. He is currently the assistant director at Chrome Pictures and also the Chief assistant director at Kite Runner Films. Kite Runner Films is a Mumbai-based famous production house that specializes in Ad films (TVCs) and also music videos. His social media has many interesting updates about his life. From working for giant brands to shooting models of different genres, his social media is one of the most interesting places to be in. He has worked with stalwarts of industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Robin Uthappa, Chris Gayle, Rana Daggubati, and many more.

The most fascinating element in his social media is his fashion photography. From mundane monochrome pictures to sharp mono-colored palette pictures, from textures to patterns, from playing with light to filming silhouettes, Tauseef’s photographs are simply remarkable. His photos make instant connections with the viewers and tell their own stories. His pictures are cinematic. He tries to capture and put in a lot of drama in the frame. He doesn’t pick any random person or a place as a subject. A different face, a different place attracts him. And through one shot, he tries to narrate everything about his subject. After his own fashion photography house, he also launched a production house under his banner. When filming, he wants the audience to keep the feeling or remember that little story even when they come out of the cinema hall by just having a glance at his pictures. He wants them to enjoy the entire screenplay and take away the whole cinematic film.

Tauseef originally hails from Patna but is currently working in Mumbai. Probably, this is one of the reasons he calls himself a “nomad”. All his social media handles are titled as Tauseef S Nomad. He is a person who believes that people should recognize his work and not the person he is. As takes a long process to become a good photographer or better yet, a great photographer and it usually takes a lot of effort, passion, motivation, ambition, hard work, and adventurous spirit. A good photographer focuses on beating his or her competition in whatever photography niche he or she has chosen, while great photographers are pacesetters creating distinct photos that people go searching for. These kinds of photographers have a brand and a name in their niche. However, all photographers do not become photographers overnight and have to go through a long and tedious process to become who they are. Thus, he wants no one to know who the real Tauseef is. He wants to go unnoticed by his identity as he thinks he should be the sole decision-maker of his life. He makes his own rules and leads life by his own choices. He is otherwise a very emotional person who tries to find permanence in the little things of life. He is introverted and is very shy. Sometimes, he hardly wants to meet people and probably this is also one of the reasons why he doesn’t want to appear in the public eye. As Tauseef believes that people should take it easy after 30, he is thus leaving no stones unturned to make a mark and do enough before the age.
