Gabba: On Jan. 19th 2021, the social media was on fire because Team India had marked their historic win against Australia in the fourth Test and series. The thrilling final game was being played at Gabba, which is popularly known as the winning arena of the opponent team. India marked its historic win by defeating Australia by three wickets and becoming the first Asian team to mark its win against the host team.

The Match

India achieved a record run-chase of 328 runs in an exciting final session to hand Australia their first defeat at Brisbane’s Gabba cricket ground since 1988 and clinch the four-Test series by 2-1. Despite the fact that injuries ravaged the team, and forced the management to use 20 players in the series, the team outshined and brought laurels to the country.

Extremely talented wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was the Man-of-the-Match for his swashbuckling 89 Not Out. His innings followed an equally impressive knock from 21-year-old Shubman Gill, who made 91 at the top of the order earlier in the day.

The bowling attack was led by Mohammad Siraj, who debuted in Melbourne, supported by T. Natarajan, Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur, who had two Tests between them heading into Brisbane.

India looked in control through the final session and despite losing three wickets in the last hour, they cruised home with three overs to spare when Pant hit the winning four off Hazlewood and was awarded man-of-the-Match Trophy.

Two years after beating Australia in 2018-19, India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and also shot to the top of the World Test Championship Chart. 

Minutes after the win, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official Twitter account to express his joy over the win. He said, “Overjoyed, the team’s remarkable energy and passion were visible throughout. So was their stellar intent, remarkable grit and determination. Congratulations to the team! Sourav Ganguly, the head of India’s cricket board, said the 2-1 series victory — India’s second straight series win in Australia — was nothing short of historic. 

Fans thanked Rahul Dravid for coaching younger players after India’s stellar win. Dravid took over as a head coach for the India Under-19 and India-A from 2016 to 2019. Many of the players he coached are Shubham Gill, Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar who were part of the match-winning innings yesterday.

Hence, it is aptly called “Golden Hour”.  In the ambulance, first aid and primary treatment can be given to stabilize the patient. That is why pre-hospital care is especially important to reduce mortality, reduce complications and reduce the incidence of disabilities.

Wounds can become infected if not immediately cleaned and later can cause severe infection which can kill the patient.

• Sometimes patient must be referred to a tertiary care hospital since manpower and facilities may not be adequate at primary care hospital. Life savings surgeries for head, chest and abdominal injuries, requirement of blood transfusions, or medical conditions such as heart attacks, life threatening infections can be treated in a hospital where advanced facilities are available.

• Any sudden breathing difficulty or severe allergy or chest pain indicative of heart attack, are dire medical emergencies and needs rapid transport to the hospital to save life.

• Gastro-intestinal problems especially severe diarrhoea and vomiting can be fatal, especially in children since it leads to severe dehydration and low BP. Administration of Oral rehydration solution or IV fluids can save life. Similar observations were made by the team at Ziqitza Rajasthan.

Saqqara: On Sunday, Egypt’s noted archaeologist and former antiquities minister Zahi Hawass revealed that ancient funerary temples had been discovered at the Saqqara archaeological site near Cairo, Egypt.

Speaking to the press at the Saqqara necropolis, Hawass said, “Archaeologists have unearthed the temple of Queen Neit, wife of King Teti, the first king of the Sixth Dynasty that ruled Egypt from 2323 B.C. till 2150 B.C.” He added that “archaeologists have also found a 4-meter (13-foot) long papyrus that includes texts of the ‘Book of the Dead’, which is a collection of spells aimed at directing the dead through the underworld in ancient Egypt.”

The cooperation between the Antiquities Ministry and the Zahi Hawass Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina resulted in this discovery which may change the history of Egypt. 

Hawass said that the archaeologists also unearthed burial wells, coffins and mummies which date back to the New Kingdom that ruled Egypt between about 1570 B.C. and 1069 B.C. The team also discovered at least 22 burial shafts up to 40 feet deep, with more than 50 wooden coffins.

Hawass, known for his Indiana Jones hat and TV specials on Egypt’s ancient sites, said that work has been going on at the site close to the Pyramid of Teti for over a decade. The Saqqara site is part of the necropolis at Egypt’s ancient capital of Memphis, it includes the notable Giza pyramids as well as smaller pyramids at AbuSir, Dahshur and Abu Ruwaysh. The ruins of Memphis were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site during the 1970s.

In recent years, Egypt has heavily promoted new archaeological finds to international media and diplomats in the hope of attracting more tourists to the country. This new discovery around the capital will act as a soothing balm for the turmoiled tourism sector of the country.

New Delhi: After the Delhi government passed an order to this effect, Classes 10th and 12th of Delhi schools reopen from today, bringing students of these classes back to school after a gap of more than 9 months. To prevent the spread of Coronavirus among the students, all schools in India were shut during March 2020, shifting the entire education system online. For the past months, the students and teachers have been interacting through virtual lecture sessions.

Several speculations were made through the past months about reopening of schools, until last week when Deputy Health Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia announced, “The schools will be reopening in case of classes 10 and 12 from today”.

The government has taken this decision keeping in mind the need for preparation and real-time teaching assistance required by students in wake of the upcoming CBSE board exams.  This move will also help students to smoothly complete the process of upcoming internal assignments and practical exams.

The schools have been allowed to reopen with strict Covid-19 protocols in place. Along with this, the students have also been mandated to carry written permission from their parents/guardians allowing them to attend school.

Yesterday, Sisodia, who is also Delhi’s Education Minister, held a review meeting to inspect the Covid-19 protocols to be followed by schools in the capital. The protocols include sanitation facilities in classrooms and the building, measures taken for social distancing, etc. The government also suggested schools to apply a ‘bubbling effect’ in which the same set of students must be kept in the same group, to minimize the level of contact among students. Also, a set of instructions has also been issued both for the students and staff members for the smooth functioning of the process.

The decision of reopening of school has received mixed responses from both students and the parents as a section still fears the contact with the virus while others have appreciated the step saying physical classes with necessary precautions will help in students’ learning.

Various schools around the country are being reopened in a phased manner. Rajasthan too will be reopening schools from today.
