The most affordable luxury wedding shoes collection – Modello Domani

The India Saga Saga |

‘Modello Domani’ is an Italian name, meaning “style of tomorrow.” Having an international ring to the brand name, they are surely one of the best footwear brands in today’s time. Digging further into the brand; they specialize in handmade shoes primarily for men and have now introduced a division for women as well. With having a variety of 200+ ready to wear designs on their website and store, the quality of the footwear is what makes them unique. They offer both zardozi & thread embroidery options and their latest hand-painted custom designs will leave you mesmerized. Furthermore, the brand recently launched India’s first “Shoe Sanitizer Spray” which is a revolutionary product keeping your shoes/feet odor free & bacteria-free.

As far as customization is concerned, they have a “Picture to Product” customization where a customer can create a pair just by sharing a picture of the shoes or even sharing their own fabrics. Their products are 100% handmade with vegan options available. The best thing is they offer products at all price points which make them the most affordable fashion luxury brand. Moreover, they are the only brand to enjoy a 5* rating and reviews on Google & Facebook.  Not just this, several celebrities have been in awe of the brand.

The man behind the brand is none other than Ayush Diwan Khurana. The journey started back in 2010 when ZARA had launched its loafers in the Indian market. It was a rage amongst the youth despite being priced at ?4500-?5500 then. Ayush got a pair and joined the hype, and soon realized they were actually manufactured in India.

Since his college, he was intrigued about the manufacturing of shoes. The most shocking thing he learned was that our country manufactures for international brands at a low-cost and ends up buying them at expensive prices. That triggered Ayush with the idea of starting his own homegrown brand of footwear with an international appeal and quality at affordable pricing.

‘Modello Domani’ was launched in 2015 with the humble motto of “Happy Feet For All” aiming to provide world-class luxury fashion shoes at affordable prices. Ever since the birth of the brand, it has been focusing on quality designs worldwide. Offering the largest variety of designs across all price ranges and full customization services, the brand has been featured in several publications like Forbes India, Economic Times, Business World, Business Standard among others. The brand was also the winner of the ‘Franchise India Show’ which was aired on TIMES NOW News Network.

Social Media Influencer & Poet Abdul Rahman Naji Mohsen Al-Asehab Making Big by His Work

The India Saga Saga |

The Emirati poet Abdulrahman Al-Mraisi wrote with heartbeat and ink feelings the story of man and the homeland with its fine details, and painted in his letters the labyrinths of the human soul, and had what he wanted from success.

He began his poetic career at an early age when he began organizing evenings and poems in Dubai, particularly in schools and universities, until he reached the role of culture in Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah and Abu Dhabi.

He received a diploma in public relations and another diploma in the media field.

He started writing poetry by spreading his poems in Emirati, Gulf and Arab poetry magazines until he registered a strong presence

Abdul Rahman Al-Mraisi is one of the most important poets of Nabatean poetry in the UAE, especially since he began to organize his poems early in his life.

He considers that the poetic scene lacks renewal in the ideas of the poem and the poetry in circulation that have become known and kept pace with the past eras, but he said, “we are living a new era and every poet is entitled to renewal in his language and poetic images while maintaining the basics of the language of the poem.”

He completes his speech by asking poets who have a mass base and have a hand in developing the poetic arena to take the hands of the new poets, and guide them properly, and the choice of poets in practice depends on testing the talent and ability of the person regardless of age, although the poem is greater than the age of the person or the poet , And this point is very important to raise the level of the local poetic scene.

The India Saga Saga |

“I am happy to announce that Punchy Store is coming to Qatar,” said Executive Director and CEO Amin. “My brand allows you to express yourself and show the world your own taste in fashion.”

The store launch in Qatar will help fuel the retailer’s online strategy as it tries to grow into an established brand name like Spain’s Zara or Swedish H&M retails, in order to sell more apparel globally.

“The opening of our first store, Punchy Store, is a significant step in my life because it marks a milestone in my global strategy,” Amin noted. “Punchy Store does not just benefit me or the people of my company, it honestly benefits customers foremost since it rolls out a new style of services that is geared with and intelligent edge-cutting technologies and lots of creativity.”

The first time the retailer announced setting up the store in a launch market was via an Instagram post from Amin’s personal account, where the post’s caption read “Given the size and vast growth of the online market, I think it is time to make a physical launch to be able to offer live-wear to as an option to as many people as possible. Please look forward for the Launch in October,” Amin wrote.

Other Instagram posts noted that the store brings its full collection for women, men, kids and infants in all sizes and colors. The retailer also shared a preview collection through a number of other posts, which received lots of loves and purchase pre-order requests from die-hard fans.

An estimated preview was shared by the company’s Instagram account, where it stated that there is a $2500 worth of t-shirts for women and men that were priced between $ and $. Its iconic designs regarding hoodies and vests are a little more on the expensive side, however, the company wrote that it would not facilitate sales for now.

Commenting on its pricing strategy, Amin added that the retailer is within the regular pricing markers for Qatar, especially for the quality it provides.

“We have to do our best about prices, but based on our quality, I have confidence that the consumer will not find it expensive or out of value,” Amin said. “Of course, we know maybe our price point is slightly more expensive than the local market, but at the same time, we have confidence that once they buy it, they won’t be let down.”

Nationally, Punchy Store is definitely on the rise in markets, as the brand’s population is steadily growing between the youth on social media websites. This makes everyone on edge, waiting for it to launch this October at local shopping malls.

Safe Abortion Care under threat as medical abortion pills run in short supply: Pratigya

The India Saga Saga |

Non-availability of Medical Abortion (MA) drugs is threatening women’s access to safe abortion, especially in a scenario where even today an estimated 10 women die in India due to unsafe abortions, the third leading cause of maternal mortality in India.

According to a study, conducted among 1008 chemists across Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, chemists in Rajasthan and Maharashtra are not stocking MA drugs anymore and only 37.8% are stocking in Bihar and 66% in Uttar Pradesh.  Those who are not stocking identified legal/regulatory barriers as the main reason for non- stocking.

Conducted by Pratigya Campaign for Gender Equality and Safe Abortion, the study ‘Availability of MA drugs across four Indian states’ found that Medical Abortion (MA) drugs are rapidly vanishing from the shelves. It found that provision of safe, effective and accessible abortion services including Medical Abortion (MA) Drugs is a priority for promoting women’s health and reproductive rights. Medical Abortion (MA) has emerged as the preferred method of abortion care in India with an estimated 81% of the 15.6 million annual abortions being performed using MA drugs. Yet, abortion drugs seem to have started vanishing from chemists shelves.

The study found that of the chemists who are not stocking MA drugs in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, regulatory/legal barriers was the primary reason for not stocking the drugs. Bihar was the only exception, where low demand was cited as a reason for not stocking.  Chemists have been informally asked not to sell MA drugs and there have been MA specific visits by regulatory authorities. Specific visits related to MA drugs were high in Rajasthan at 14.3% and Maharashtra at 17.4%. As high as 56% chemists reported that MA drugs are overregulated as compared to other schedule H drugs.

Speaking at the launch of the report, Mr. V.S Chandrashekar, Pratigya Campaign Advisory Group member and Chief Executive Officer, Foundation for Reproductive Health Services India said, “India has achieved great success in improving access to safe abortions, thanks to the proactive steps taken by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare over the past decade and a half. Availability of MA drugs, particularly combi packs has been instrumental in the decline of unsafe abortions. The non-availability of MA drugs can potentially reverse the gains made over the past few years.”

The study attempted to capture chemists’ awareness, knowledge and attitudes about abortions and MA drugs.  43% of chemists thought abortions were Illegal; and only 26% were aware that it is legal up to 20 weeks gestation.  In Rajasthan, a whopping 60.7% chemist said abortions are illegal followed by 51.8% in Bihar. 15% felt that availability of combi pack MA drugs contributes to gender biased sex selection with Maharashtra topping with 42.5%. “This is a wrong perception since combipacks are indicated only for use up to nine weeks gestation and the commonly used and affordable technology to identify the sex of the fetus, Ultra Sonography can detect the sex only around 13-14 weeks gestation” says  Dr. Kalpana Apte, Pratigya Campaign Advisory Group member and Secretary General, Family Planning Association of India.  “This misconception seems to be resulting in overregulation of MA drugs, significantly affecting availability of a safe, simple and affordable method of safely terminating a pregnancy, compromising the health, wellbeing and reproductive rights of women in India” she added.

The study estimates that very few, 9.6% of women who purchase MA drugs actually return to the chemists for advice to manage complications or contraception.  This indicates that for a large majority of women who purchase MA drugs from chemists the drugs seem to be effective and those who do face complications seem to be seeking care from health facilities.  Almost all chemists who have clients coming back with perceived complications refer women to a doctor, which is heartening.  The study findings show that 50% of buyers came with prescriptions as against a common perception that a majority of MA drugs are purchased without prescriptions.  “Allowing all allopathic doctors to prescribe MA drugs will definitely increase prescription and med`ical support for women seeking MA.  As law and rules stand now, only Obstetrician and Gynaecologists and allopathic doctors who are approved abortion provider under the MTP Act can prescribe MA drugs.   It is estimated that only 60-70,000 doctors, largely in urban areas, can prescribe MA drugs in the India which is woefully inadequate for a country of our size” says V.S. Chandrashekar.

Given the number of abortions estimated annually in the country, if chemists stop stocking MA drugs, a black market for MA drugs could emerge, pushing up prices and creating economic barriers for women to access their preferred method of abortion.

MA drugs are safe and even if it is incorrectly used, it is unlikely to create an emergency situation or seriously impact the health of a woman.  The World Health Organisation in its recently published list of essential medicines has moved MA combipack to core list, it was part of the complimentary list previously.  More importantly the previous list had an asterix (*) against MA drugs which indicated that MA drugs require close medical supervision.  “The removal of this asterix implies that MA combipacks can be used even without close medical supervision and the risks it poses are minimal.” Dr Apte added.

The study clearly indicates that MA drugs are under greater scrutiny by drug control authorities and their non- availability in retail chemist shops is a major cause of concern in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

To ensure that MA drugs are easily accessible Pratigya Campaign recommends that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Drug Controller General of India should send an advisory/guidance to all State Drug Controllers clarifying that cracking down on combipack does not help in curbing sex selection and that MA drugs should be subjected to the same standards/scrutiny as other schedule H drugs, the study recommends.

Secondly, there is inconsistency with the MTP rules and the DCGI approval regarding the gestation up to which MA can be used (rules say seven weeks and DGCI approval is for nine). This needs to be harmonised.  MoHFW/DGCI should consider increasing the gestational limit for MA drugs up to 12 weeks, in line with WHO guidelines.  The MTP rules should be amended to allow all allopathic doctors to prescribe MA drugs (after undergoing a short online/face to face course) increasing  the number of doctors who can prescribe MA drugs and enabling women to seek medical support while using MA.  Further, Government, in partnership with MA drug marketing companies and Chemists and Druggists association should focus on improving the knowledge of retail chemists on abortion and MA so that they provide correct information, the study says.
