India’s need for jet fuel increased in February compared to levels before the pandemic

The India Saga Saga |

According to preliminary data released by state-owned companies on Friday, India’s demand for jet fuel in February soared above pre-pandemic levels as more people travelled by air. Comparing February of this year to the same month last year, sales of aviation turbine fuel by three state-owned fuel retailers increased by 7.1% to 6,32,600 tonnes. This came in slightly better than the 6,32,100 tonnes demanded in February 2020, just before the pandemic struck, and 55.2% higher than the consumption in February 2022 marred by COVID-19. The data revealed a 3.5% increase in jet fuel sales monthly.

Fuel sales in India fell by as much as 60% shortly after the country was placed under a strict lockdown in late March 2020, preventing travel and business operations. With more people using personal vehicles, gasoline consumption was the first to recover to pre-Covid levels in late 2021, while diesel sales did the same in mid-2022.

If not, Paytm FASTag, then what else? Here is the new list issued by RBI

Since not all international flights were resumed, jet fuel or ATF levels stayed below pre-Covid levels. However, the monthly consumption has surpassed pre-pandemic levels due to more flights leaving and more people walking around.

Compared to the same period last year, the demand for diesel increased slightly by 0.4% to 6.55 million tonnes. Still, the sales of gasoline, which accounts for 90% of the fuel market, skyrocketed by 7.2% to 2.75 million tonnes in February. These three state-owned companies control 90% of the fuel market.

The need for air conditioning decreased due to the winter months in northern India. Petrol sales increased 6.2% month over month compared to January’s consumption of 2.59 million tonnes. In addition, the demand for diesel increased by 7.2% every month compared to 6.11 million tonnes in January. Diesel is India’s most widely used fuel, making up nearly 40% of all petroleum product consumption. Seventy per cent of diesel sales in the nation are attributed to the transportation industry. Over the past few months, fuel consumption has fluctuated, going up in one month and down in another.

Petrol consumption in February 2022 was 20% higher than in February 2022, marred by the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was 29.3% higher than in February 2020 before the pandemic. In February 2022, diesel consumption increased by 13.6%, while in February 2020, it increased by 7.4%.

Sales of cooking gas LPG increased 6.6% to 2.71 million tonnes in February compared to last year. February 2022 LPG consumption was 9.5% higher than February 2020 pre-Covid and 25.9% higher than February 2022 pre-Covid. According to the data, LPG demand increased by 1.4% monthly compared to 2.67 million tonnes of LPG consumed in January.

Shaitaan Review: This Thriller Movie is No Devilish Deal

Shaitaan: A Spine Chilling Crime Thriller Starrer by Ajay Devgan and R Madhavan

TheIndiaSaga Team |

On Thursday, the trailer for Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, was released on Jio Studios’ official YouTube channel and quickly gained popularity on social media. Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyothika’s outstanding acting are combined with suspenseful horror in the movie’s trailer.

Shaitaan Review: Storyline

A stranger enters the lives of Ajay Devgn, his wife, and their daughter at the start of the two-minute, thirty-second trailer. Although the stranger has different goals, Devgn’s character and his wife want to avoid interacting with this unwanted guest. As time goes on and the stranger stays in their home, the family will have to confront the dark aspects of Indian Black Magic as well as their worst fears.

Her children’s suffering is the main emphasis of the tale, as they struggle with various demons and ultimately decide to use violence. The story is told from the perspective of Baali (Rishi), who threatens the State’s home minister and ends up cornered by police.

The “Shaitan” web series initially features gruesome and chilling crime scenes in Telugu. Action scenes, bold dialogue, strong characters, and Mahi V. Raghav’s rustic approach are all excellent. This web series is centred around crime and incomprehensibly tells stories. It has graphic scenes of violence as well as sexual content.

This web series, which Mahi created with a specific target audience, appeals to that demographic. But this is not a web series meant for family viewing, as the director has clarified from the outset. There are nine episodes in total, each with provocative dialogue and scenes. The director dives into the “Shaitan” universe from the first episode.

The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, centres on a family whose life is worse when an unwelcome guest stays longer than expected at their home. Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika, and Janki Bodiwala play prominent roles in the movie. On March 8, Shaitaan is scheduled to hit theaters.

Yami Gautam’s Article 370 is banned in Gulf countries

TheIndiaSaga Team |

Gulf nations have outlawed Article 370, the latest Bollywood film starring Yami Gautam. The ban is likely to hurt its overseas earnings. The film has received positive reviews and has performed well at the box office. The most recent movie, “Article 370,” has encountered difficulty because it is prohibited in Gulf nations. This setback will impact the film’s global sales even though it has garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences and performed admirably in domestic and international markets. The certification board still requires an official justification for this action, though.

The authorities have not disclosed the ban’s rationale. The ban in the Gulf is just one more blow to the Bollywood business. The film mostly looks at ordinary people’s experiences in the context of Kashmir’s challenging social and political circumstances. It discusses individual identity, adversity, and the capacity to overcome obstacles. It also depicts the aspirations and issues faced by the people in the valley and how India responded by repealing Article 370, which granted Jammu and Kashmir a special status.

The prohibition in Gulf nations is controversial, particularly in light of the thriving travel and tourism sector and the widespread appeal of Indian cinema. The ‘Fighter’ movie starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, which was likewise outlawed in every Gulf country but the United Arab Emirates, suffered a similar fate. Five Supreme Court judges from India concurred in December 2023 that the government had the right to repeal Article 370. They clarified that the president had the power to repeal that provision of the Constitution, which was intended to be temporary.

Actor Kenneth Mitchell, Known for Roles in ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Captain Marvel,’ Dies at 49

Given that the Gulf region is well-known for tourism and frequently serves as a location for Bollywood film shoots, many people may be surprised by the prohibition on Indian cinema in these countries. With a devoted following for Hindi films, Bollywood is a primary source of entertainment for people in the Gulf.

During a recent speech in Jammu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to the movie, expressing excitement for its release and emphasising its ability to offer accurate information. Yami responded by thanking everyone on Instagram and vowed to do her best to portray this incredible story—if not surpass it. The film, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, also stars Kiran Karmarkar, Arun Govil, and Priyamani.

India beat England and won the series, Dhruv Jurel won Player of the match

sachin |

India clinched the 2024 test series by 3-1 after defeating England in the 4th test match by five wickets in Ranchi. On the first two days of the test, India was under the hammer by the Britishers,  but the youngster Dhruv Jurel stood up and saved the hosts. After winning the toss, England decided to bat first and post a mammoth total of 353 on a dead rubber. In reply, India lost early wickets and was far from levelling the score. However, with lower-order batters, the wicketkeeper-batsman Jurel added some valuable runs.

After the conclusion of the first inning, England led by 46 runs and tried to score more runs, but the veteran Ravi Ashwin dismantled the English top order and nailed his 35th 5-wicket haul. The rest is done by Kuldeep Yadav, who also registered four wickets in his column. When India came to bat the second time in the match, they had to chase 192, and at the end of the day, their openers held their guards, which restricted the England bowlers’ wicketless.

India played very well till the first hour. Still, a false shot played by Yashashwi cost him. Eventually, India lost five wickets at regular intervals, which brought back the barmy army in the game. However, Prince Shubhman Gill and Dhruv Jurel played sensible knocks and ensured India reached home.

The young Indian side plays this series without Virat Kohli, Che Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahane. Even their senior batter, KL Rahul, was injured after the first test and ruled out of the series. Bumrah and Jadeja are also unavailable for a match. Despite all this, these young guns under the leadership of Rohit Sharma bounced back hard when they were put against the wall.

Jaiswal and Gill are in the second match, Jaiswal and Sarfarz are in the third, and Jurel and Akashdeep are in the fourth. On the one hand, experienced England showed aggression and lost grip of the match at every crucial stage. The youngsters of India know how to play with situations; they showed grit and determination, and with hard work, they proved why India has the best talent.

  • The 4th test match is the first instance after 2013 when any team successfully chased down the target of 150+ on Indian soil.
