Three people thrash a Policeman in Delhi

Arsh Verma |

The National Capital witnessed yet another crime when a woman along with two men thrashed a police constable. On Friday night, the 50-year-old head constable, MG Rajesh was attacked by three people, while he was coming back from his duty. The accused managed to flee and they are not under police custody yet.

In the Tilak Nagar Area on Friday, MG Rajesh was attacked. While he was seeking medical health, he gave his statement. In his statement, he said that he was returning from his duty at around 11 p.m. when two people along with a reckless driver crossed his vehicle. The car was close to the policeman’s vehicle as it crossed him. He also obstructed the car and suggested the driver drive carefully. He later observed that the car took a hasty turn to hit the policeman’s car from the front. “I made an effort to convey to them why their driving was reckless. They started speeding up once more as I got back in my car and started driving home. My automobile was overtaken, and they stopped on the road. The moment two men emerged, they yelled that they would teach me a lesson. I refrained from leaving since I knew how bad the situation was. The windows of my car were broken, and they picked up bricks and flung them at the windscreen,” claimed the head policeman.

He also claimed that a woman came out of the car, and started hitting him along with the men.

“They helped me exit the vehicle. They recognized me and informed one another that I was a police officer. They began punching and kicking me. I was attacked by the woman using a brick. The woman warned me that she would have me fired if I tried to force those men. The other man pulled an iron rod from his car and whacked me in the head while the other man was holding me. I was assaulted in front of everyone. After some minutes, I went unconscious,” the cop claimed.

Two locals later helped the wounded policeman and took him to GGS Hospital. The police staff also went to take Rajesh’s statement, but he was so severely injured that he could not communicate. The policeman said, “Those two males and the woman attacked me fatally intending to kill me and damage my car.” The teams have been sent to arrest the group against whom a charge of ‘attempt to murder’ was filed. “According to the victim’s testimony and current state, it is clear that the accused struck him viciously and made an attempt to murder him after he complained about their reckless driving. In this instance, harsh action will be taken. The suspect will soon be apprehended,” the officer said.

Ganesh Chaturthi: Muhurat, Significance, History, and Celebration

Arsh Verma |

India is a country which perfectly elaborates on the phrase ‘Unity in Diversity’, the festival celebration in India is the perfect example of this unity, where people from different regions and religions come together to enjoy the celebration.  The people of India celebrate over 30 major festivals throughout the year. Each festival has its unique significance, rituals, and traditions. The end of Shravan maas begins the cheerful and vibrant festival session in India. The session starts with the celebration of Rakshabandhan, followed by the grand celebration of Janmashtami and the caravans of the festivals continue. Some major festivals which are celebrated during this session include Navratri, Durga Puja, Diwali, Chatt Puja and many more. All the festivals have their importance and significance, Like all these Ganesh Chaturthi also has its special significance.

Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is known by other names in different areas such as Vinayak Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav. It is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of the Hindu god Ganesha, the festival starts from Chaturthi tithi of shukla paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. This year the festival is celebrated on 19th September 2023. The shubh muhurat for pooja on 19th September, is 10:27 am to 12:54 pm.

Clay idols of Ganesha are installed to celebrate the festival. Celebrations include the chanting of Vedic hymns and Hindu texts such as prayers and vrata (fasting). The daily prayer offerings and Prasada that the pandal distributes to the community include sweets such as modak, believed to be a favourite of Ganesha. The festival ends on the tenth day after its beginning, when the idol is carried in a public procession accompanied by music and communal singing, and then immersed in a nearby body of water, such as a river or the sea, called Ganpati Visarjan on Anantha Chaturdashi.

History

According to some historians, the festival became a public event in 1892 when Bhausaheb Laxman Javale installed the first public Ganesha idol in Pune. In 1893, Indian freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak celebrated Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav in Kesari and devoted his efforts to launching the annual domestic festival into a large and well-organised public event. Tilak recognized the appeal of Ganesha as “a god for everything” and, according to Robert Brown, Ganesha was the god who bridged “the divide between Brahmins and non-Brahmins”, thus creating popular unity among them to resist British colonial rule.

A famous Italian writer Angelo de Gubernatis remarks about this festival. I watched with utmost curiosity the crowds carrying an endless number of idols of Lord Ganesh in procession. Every little part of the city, every family with its devotees, every corner of the street organises its procession. The poor carry their idol or papyrus on a simple board… Or more or less a large crowd follows the idol clapping their hands and raising shouts of joy, while the idol is usually preceded by a small orchestra.

Celebration and Muhurat

In India, Ganesh Chaturthi is mostly celebrated at home and publicly in local communities in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa, and in the southern states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and the eastern states. In the states of West Bengal and Odisha and the northeastern states of Assam.

On the first day of the festival, the idol of Ganesh has been installed with significance rituals. Then regularly for 10 days the idol is worshipped with friends and family and the Prashad of modak is offered to lord Ganesha, the celebration is followed by the Ganpati Visarjan on the day of Anantha Chaturdashi.

Everything you need to know about Jio AirFiber

Arsh Verma |

Reliance Jio is ready to introduce a brand new wifi net carrier for houses and workplaces, referred to as Jio AirFiber. During the 2023 AGM held today, Mukesh Ambani, chairman and handling director of Reliance Industries announced that Jio AirFiber could be released in India on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, coinciding with the completion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Jio AirFiber carrier was introduced on the company’s forty fifth AGM remaining year. Talking about the carrier, Jio emphasised that with AirFiber customers will benefit from the right of entry to wifi net at speeds similar to fiber-optic connections. This will permit them to apply a variety of packages with low latency and excessive bandwidth, along with streaming video, gaming, and video conferencing. The carrier additionally consists of functions along with parental controls, help for Wi-Fi 6, and more.

What is Jio AirFiber?

Jio AirFiber is Jio’s new wireless internet service  that uses 5G technology to provide high-speed internet connectivity. According to Jio,  AiFiber offers speeds comparable to  traditional optical fibres and users can also access speeds  up to 1 Gbps.

As for the installation process, Jio’s official website revealed that all you need to do to turn on Jio AiFiber is plug it in and turn it on. “You just plug it in, turn it on and that’s it.” Now you have a personal Wi-Fi hotspot at home, connected to ultra-fast Internet with True 5G. Connecting your home or office with gigabit speed is very easy with JioAirFiber.

Jio showcased the device in an advertisement last year and it showed 5G speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps. According to some unknown sources, Jio AirFiber uses true 5G to provide fast, reliable and wide Wi-Fi coverage. The service can cover up to 1,000 square feet of a house or office on the same floor thanks to its unique spectrum property.

Apart from high-speed internet,  Jio AirFiber also offers other services to ensure a secure internet experience, including:

  • Jio AirFiber offers parental control tools that allows users to control and restrict the content available online. It  also supports Wi-Fi 6 technology, which ensures better and efficient connectivity between devices.
  •  The Jio AiFiber service integrates with the Jio set-top box, allowing users to combine  high-speed internet  with watching TV over the same network.
  •  With Jio AirFiber, users can manage their network by blocking certain websites or devices for a more secure and personalised internet experience.

Jio AirFiber Monthly Plan Price

Jio’s AirFiber service is expected to be 20 percent cheaper than other devices in the market. According to some reports, the device could cost around INR 6,000.

How is  Jio AirFiber different from Jio Fiber?

Jio AirFiber and Jio Fiber are standalone broadband services from Reliance Jio that differ in terms of technology, speed, coverage, installation and cost. For example, Jio Fiber uses fiber optic cables for wider coverage, but these are not available everywhere in the country. On the other hand, the upcoming Jio AirFiber is a wireless broadband network that uses point-to-point radio links to connect homes and workplaces to Jio through a direct signal. It is not limited by fiber cables, it depends on visibility in Jio towers.

Vivek Ramaswamy says, “People think I am too young to become US president”

Arsh Verma |

Vivek Ramaswamy, the 38-year-old entrepreneur and Republican Presidential candidate, said that many people are annoyed by his growth in US Politics. Ahead of his remarkable performance at his first Republican presidential primary debate, various polls signify the increase in his popularity in the US. The polls also suggest that his performance has shown a 12-point rise than in August. Followed by a rise in criticism for the Ohio resident.

Ramaswamy claimed that over the previous few weeks, they had been encountering a lot of objections since my performance was good in that second discussion. And this is part of the process, so I am ready for the open debate.  He continued by saying that while many people are disturbed by his success and believe that a 38-year-old is too young to lead the US, Thomas Jefferson wrote the US Declaration of Independence when he was only 33 years old. There is a need to reestablish that spirit, Ramaswamy argued. “And I think it will take a person whose greatest years in life are still ahead of them to recognize a nation whose best years are still in front of them. The United States of America can yet see its best days ahead, in my opinion. However, we cannot simply escape from something.”

“Because I believe it is the wrong area to concentrate on, I don’t criticize the extreme Biden agenda too much. Of course, there are multiple items to perform. However, we need to offer more than just an explanation of what we are escaping. What do we want to resurrect: open discourse, free expression, the quest for excellence, and economic progress? Most Americans still concur with these fundamental principles,” he said.

“As a result, I’m optimistic that we have a chance to deliver a moral mandate in the mold of Ronald Reagan’s America of 1980. We’ll unite this nation in that way. And I’m running because I believe I have the best chance of doing it of any candidate. I’m not running against any of them, even though we’ve taken criticism from pretty much every other candidate who felt threatened by my rise. I’m vying for this nation. That is our goal .” explained  Ramaswamy. Ramaswamy caught public attention after his first Republican presidential primary debate that was on August 23. The maiden poll that was out after the debate declared that 28 percent of the 504 attendants said that Ramaswamy executed the best.

India became the Asia Cup Champions for the 8th time

Arsh Verma |

An In-form Indian side met the Co-host Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup 2023. Sri Lanka, who came into the final following a win against the strong Pakistan team, got bowled out for a half-century. With 51 on the board to chase, it was an easy target for the young Indian openers, who chased the total in 37 balls. India became the Asian Champions for the 8th time.

It was a tournament to remember for the Indian team and a significant positive as they enter the Cricket World Cup 2023. The highlight of the game was Siraj’s spell of 6/21 in 7 overs with one maiden. Siraj started showing his “Miyan Magic” from the very first over he bowled, taking four wickets in the second over he bowled. Other positives from the tournament include Gill and Rohit’s Stability and consistency in batting, K.L., Kishan, and Kohli solving India’s middle-order trouble and genuine masterclass and flow in the Indian Bowling featuring Kuldeep, Bumrah, and Siraj.

Take a tour of India’s winning journey from the Asia Cup. The first match of the Men in Blue was against the arch-rival Pakistan, in which India set a target of 267 for Pakistan to win. The rain interrupted the game, resulting in a washout. The next match was against Nepal. Nepal’s batting first exposed the Indian bowling, scoring 230 runs. It was not a big target, but it was a reasonable effort from Nepal against a strong Indian line-up. The match was yet again interrupted by rain and India had a revised target of 145 runs in 23 overs. The openers chased the target comfortably, as India won the match with 10 wickets in hand, marching towards the super-4s.

Indian batters smashed the Pak bowlers in all parts of the ground, with Kohli and Rahul’s century and Kuldeep’s fifer, leaving Pakistan with no answers to the mighty Indian side. Next was the co-host Sri Lanka, in a close encounter, Sri Lanka was short of the target by 41 runs, helping India march to the final. India faced Bangladesh in their last super-4 game with big players rested India was asked to bowl first. The Bangladeshi batsman gave a target of 266 to chase. India was short of the target by 6 runs, despite an excellent batting effort from Axar Patel. India took on Sri Lanka in the final of the tournament. Bowling first, the Indian bowlers started giving the Lankans the taste of their own medicine, as they dismissed six of the ten Lankan players within the first 10 overs. And Lanka got all out for 50 in less than 16 overs. Indian openers chased the target with ease, winning India the trophy for the 8th time. It would give a boost in confidence to the team ahead of the CWC in October.

Special Session of Parliament starts from today

Arsh Verma |

The special parliament session is all set to commence on Monday, 18th September in the new Parliament building (Central Vista). There are so many intense speculations on the issues, the government will bring it to the table in this five-day discussion and surprise the Parliament. During this session, the government may lay down 8 agendas on the grounds for discussion. Parliament will also discuss the 75-year journey of Parliament, the achievements, experiences, memories, and learnings of Samvidhan Sabha. All the MPs from both houses will be present in the Parliament on Tuesday for a group photograph. The Government of India successfully conducted an all-party meeting on Sunday. The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs called for a Special Session on the 31st of August.

What is a Special Session

A special session of the Parliament of India is a period when the Legislative Assembly of Parliament meets outside of its regular legislative sessions to conduct parliamentary business. The Committee of Ministers on Parliamentary Affairs decides on the convening of the session. The calendar of events of the Indian Parliament is not fixed. The Indian Parliament usually meets three times a year, with the budget session at the beginning of the calendar year, the monsoon session in the middle of the year, and the winter session at the end of the calendar year.

Constitutional Provisions

Although the Constitution does not directly mention the Special Session, Article 352 of the Urgent Ordinance refers to a special session of the Parliament. Since the current provisions do not limit the frequency of sessions of the Parliament, it allows the President of India ‘the right to summon’ parliament an unlimited number of times as needed. Although the president is responsible for issuing summons, the government, led by the prime minister, starts the session.

However, the framers of the Indian constitution insisted that there should not be a gap of six months between two consecutive sessions of Parliament. Section 85 (1) of the Constitution provides that the president must from time to time summon each Parliament to meet at such time and place as he thinks fit, but there must not be six months between the last session.

INDIA alliance boycotts 14 News anchors

Arsh Verma |

The newly formed INDIA alliance took a surprising decision on Thursday as they decided that INDIA parties will not send its representatives on the show of 14 News anchors. The decision is taken by the coordinate committee of the alliance and they also released the name list of the following anchors:

Aditi Tyagi (Bharat Express), Aman Chopra (Network 18), Amish Devgan (News18), Anand Narasimhan (CNN-News18), Anand Narasimhan (CNN-News18), Arnab Goswami (Republic TV), Ashok Shrivastav (DD News), Chitra Tripathi (AajTak), Gaurav Sawant (AajTak), Navika Kumar (Times Now/Times Now Navbharat), Prachi Parashar (India TV), Rubika Liyaquat (Bharat 24), Shiv Aroor (AajTak), Sudhir Chaudhary (AajTak), Sushant Sinha (Times Now Navbharat).

The meeting was held at the New Delhi residence of Sharad Pawar, President of the National Congress Party. A war of words between the News anchors and the members of the media coordinate committee of the INDIA group has started on Twitter. Political experts also expressed their views on the matter, some are condemning the decision while others are playing a safe game by calling the decision a ‘matter of choice’.

KC Venugopal and Pawan Khera made the official announcement from the Congress party they said the hate-filled narrative of these reporters is a serious threat to Bharat, they are decimating the harmony and peace of the nation, and they divide the unitedhood of India. In a tweet posted by the leaders of the grand old party, “The coordinating committee ordered the media sub-group to decide the names of the anchors for whose programs no party in INDIA would send its representatives. The decision is made with a heavy heart. We are not against any of these anchors. We don’t hate any of these anchors. But we love our country more. We know India better than anyone else.”

In reply to the tweets of politicians Aditi Tyagi, Rubika Liyaquat, and Sudhir Chaudhary are the journalists who replied to the comments. Aditi Tyagi wrote in a tweet, “I am the first one in the list of those who ask questions for India, Tyagi’s don’t fear.”

Rubika Liyaquat said, “They called it denial, we called it fear. It’s called running away from questions, not boycotting journalists. You tend to say yes to men. I didn’t do it before, I won’t do it. The future. Courage is denied by those leaders who earn hate in the business of love…”

Reacting to the list, AajTak anchor Sudhir Chaudhary said, “INDIA Union published a list of journalists who refused to become ‘Charan Chumbak’ (bootlaces). Now they have been boycotted. Now what response will the Indian media give it.”

Netizens are also expressing their opinions on social media. Some said that curtailing the freedom of media has been the hobby of the Congress party since the times of Independence.  28 parties are afraid of 14 parties, Ashok Shrivastav posted on X.
