Taiwan urged Beijing to stop “irresponsible provocative actions” after China sent 56 warplanes into Taiwan’s defense zone in the largest-ever air incursion. Monday becomes the fourth day straight of incursion by Chinese aircrafts. 

The defense ministry said 36 fighter jets and 12 H-6 nuclear-capable bombers including other planes crossed over into Taiwan’s airspace. Four other planes entered its southwest air defense identification zone at night making the record of sending 56  Chinese warplanes to Taiwan’s defense zone. 

The mainland affair council (MAC) blamed Beijing for “seriously damaging the status quo of peace and stability in the Taiwan strait” with the large number of repeated incursions to harm the Taiwan territory.  

“We demand the Beijing authorities immediately stop its non-peaceful and irresponsible proactive actions” MAC spokesperson Chiu Chui- Cheng exclaimed in his statement. 

China is the culprit for causing tensions between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and it has further threatened regional security and order,” he added saying, Taiwan will never compromise and yield” to threats. 

Since Friday when China marked its national day, the whole country stood up and embarked on their journey by accomplishing the greatest mission of flying 150 aircrafts in the Taiwan defense zone making Taiwan vulnerable and weak. 

Further, the United States also urged the country to stop their disruptive activities and let everyone be in a state of peace and harmony. 

Responding to the US government, China said that they are not near to any disruptive activities but it was the US who was being provocative and harming the national peace with its arms sales to Taiwan. 

“China is resolutely opposed to this and takes necessary countermeasures,” it added. 

“Engaging in Taiwan independence is a dead end. China will take all steps needed and firmly smash any Taiwan independence plots,” the ministry said. China’s determination and will to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity is unwavering”.

Taiwan expressed its distrust towards the country China and claimed Chinese incursions as irresponsible provocations. The country further also added,  Xi regime is engaging in a grey zone to tear down the forces with unlawful strategies. 

China has broken their own record of letting the warplanes enter Taiwan. The count marks 600 air incursions till early october.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Japan’s new Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on his election, saying he looks forward to working with him to develop India-Japan’s unique strategic and global cooperation. On Monday, the Japanese parliament elected Kishida as Prime Minister.

Kishida defeated Yukio Edano, the leader of the largest opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, by a comfortable margin, with his party and its coalition partner possessing a majority in both houses.

Taking it to the tweeter, PM Narendra Modi wrote, “Congratulations and best wishes to the new Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Kishida Fumio. I look forward to working with him to further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership and advance peace and prosperity in our region and beyond”.

Newly elected Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced Monday that the lower house will be dissolved next week in preparation for elections on October 31. Kishida is seeking a new mandate to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak, the falling economy, and security challenges from China and North Korea.

“Our fight against the coronavirus is continuing,” Kishida told his first news conference Monday night after taking office. “COVID-19 measures is the urgent and top priority, and I will handle the problem taking into consideration the worst-case scenario.” He said he will review the past virus handling and seek to set up a crisis management unit.

He also promised to press on with a large-scale recovery plan to help individuals affected by the outbreak.“In order to take large-scale COVID-19 measures, I need to get the people’s mandate,” Kishida said, adding that he will pass up attending G-20 and COP-26 climate meetings in person.

Kishida, a former foreign minister, was once seen as a moderate but, in order to win over conservatives in his Liberal Democratic Party, he became more hawkish on security and more conservative on gender equality and other topics. His election to succeed Suga as the party’s leader last week was considered as a vote for continuity and stability over change.

The Indian Kids Fashion Week 2021 which has been kickstarted in Hyderabad saw Bollywood designer Kirti Rathore unveil her new collection. She chose social media influencer Ashfaan Shaikh as her show stopper. This marks Ashfaan’s debut on the ramp and in the world of design, and fashion shows. The IKFW will go on an India-wide tour before making it global. The Hyderabad show was declared a success with Kirti Rathod and Ashfaan Shaikh winning praises from crowds, media, and critiques. 

Commenting on his debut and describing his experience at the fashion show, Sheikh exclaimed, “I really never thought I would be here doing this someday. As Lakhimpur Kheri turned into a fortress a day after eight people were killed during a farmers’ protest yesterday over a statement made by Minister of State Ajay Mishra Teni at an event earlier in the day, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was detained and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav sat on dharna outside his residence. A local journalist who had been missing since yesterday succumbed to his injuries, bringing the total number of people killed in the incident to nine. According to reports, the violence erupted after two SUVs allegedly drove over four anti-farm legislation demonstrators on their way to their villages after Minister of State Ajay Mishra Teni made a statement at a program hosted by UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya.

After the incident, angry farmers present at the spot allegedly torched a vehicle belonging to the minister’s convoy. UP DGP Mukul Goel said a total of 8 persons died in the incident. “Out of the eight, four were farmers and the remaining four were others who were in the vehicles,” he said, also appealing for peace to be maintained and assured that action would be taken against culprits.

Sukhwinder Singh (20), Satnam Singh (20), Hari Singh (35), and Subba Singh (20) are the four farmers who died, according to the district magistrate (65). All of them are from the Bahraich and Kheri districts. Farmers claim Teni’s son Ashish Mishra was behind the wheel of the car that ran over the farmers. In response to the charges, Teni stated that his son was not even present at the time the incident occurred. He criticized the incident, calling it a “plot,” and claiming that his vehicle, which was being driven by his chauffeur, was showered with stones, overturning and trapping two farmers below.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the happenings, and said, “Such incidents are unfortunate. The government will ensure that the matter is thoroughly investigated and the involvement of anti-social elements is brought to light. We will take strict action against those involved.” 

As a result of the event, internet services in Lakhimpur have been shut down. All highways going to Lakhimpur were also shut along Lucknow’s borders.

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee wins the Bhawanipur By-poll by a massive margin of 58,832 votes. She defeated BJP’s Priyanka Tibrewal. AITC supporters were seen celebrating her victory outside her Kalighat residence in South Kolkata.

On Sunday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) declared the result for the three seats in the state of West Bengal that went for a By-poll election. Mamata Banerjee won the By-poll election for the Bhawanipur seat with a massive margin of 58,835 votes. The TMC supremo defeated her rival Priyanka Tibrewal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mamata will now remain in the Chief Minister’s chair. 

After weeks of aggressive campaigning, it was the All India Trinamool Congress that triumphed in the By-poll elections held in the state of West Bengal. TMC won all three seats of Bhabanipur,  Samersganj, and Jangipur. TMC’s Janigpur candidate, Jakir Hossain won by a whopping margin of 92, 480 votes and Mamata won her traditional seat of Bhabanipur by a victory margin of 58,835 votes. She has even surpassed her previous record of 52,213 votes in 2011 and 25,301votes in 2016.

The BJP had high hopes from the seat of Bhabanipur due to a large presence of Non-Bengali, Hindi speaking people which consists of more than 46% of the voters. It is the first time that the TMC supremo did not trail from any of the wards in the constituency. Not only this, but Mamata even was leading in all 21 rounds of counting. Priyanka Tibrewal (BJP) after conceding her defeat against Banerjee said, “I gracefully accept the defeat and I am the ‘Man of the Match’ of this game because I contested the election in Mamata Banerjee’s stronghold and got more than 25,000 votes. I will continue doing the hard work.” She even told media persons that she has congratulated Didi (Mamata Banerjee) and has sent her message to the TMC chief.

Celebrations in the afternoon began across the State. TMC supporters were seen playing with Gulaal and dancing outside the residence of Banerjee in Kalighat, South Kolkata despite prohibitory orders from ECI. Mamata, on her victory, said, “People of Bengal were hurt after I lost the election in Nandigram when my party won across the state. There was a conspiracy to defeat me at Nandigram but the people of Bhabanipur voted against this conspiracy.” She even pointed out that she won in all the eight wards of the constituency.

The Election Commission of India to prevent any sort of post-poll violence had directed the state government to prohibit victory marches and processions across the state.

On Sunday the NCB arrested superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son in connection with the Cordelia cruise drugs case. Aryan Khan was arrested along with seven others following a raid at a party held on a Goa-bound cruise liner Saturday night. The Narcotics Control Bureau summoned Khan, his friend Arbaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha  and remanded them in NCB custody till Monday. Five others including Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Vikrant Chhokar and Gomit Chopra  were arrested late on Sunday and are going to be produced in court today. 

The high profile raid claimed to have seized 21 gram of charas, 13 grams of cocaine, 22 pills of MDMA, 5gm of mephedrone, and more than 1.3 lakh cash. Aryan Khan was charged against purchasing, possessing,  and use of banned substances.

Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde demanded bail, saying that no solid proof has been gathered to command the arrest of his client,  “Aryan had no ticket, no cabin or seat on board the cruise. He was there because he had been invited. He didn’t even have a boarding pass. Nothing has been found on him. He was arrested on the basis of chat only.”

The official said the party started when the ship left Mumbai and arrived at sea. Further the raid took place at 10:00 am and went on till 2 pm. During the operation different drugs were found which they  have secretly hidden in their clothes, undergarments, and purses. NCB told the Press Trust of India. The cruise company made their statement and said they have nothing to do with the drug party.

“We, at Cordelia Cruises, condemn all acts such as these and will strictly refrain from letting our ship out for similar events in the future. Nonetheless, Cordelia Cruises is extending our full support and cooperating with the authorities,” it added. 

The Narcotics Control Bureau has been on an active mode since the last year following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and a wide-ranging investigation into alleged drug abuse. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had also yielded around 3000 kg of heroin at Gujarat Mundra Port and also seized 37 kg of Narcotics drug along with cocaine and suspected contraband items in Delhi and Noida.
