Charlotte Johnson, mother of UK PM expired on Monday

The India Saga Saga |

Charlotte Johnson Wahl, a professional painter and the mother of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, died on Monday, September 13. Charlotte Johnson was 79 years old. The news was reported by the Telegraph newspaper earlier.

The newspaper reported in accordance with a statement received by the family that Johnson Wahl passed away “suddenly and peacefully”. No response could be received from Downing Street on request of comments. Representatives of the family could not be immediately reached.

Johnson had described his mother as the “superior authority” in the family during the Conservative Party’s annual conference in 2019. “I am going to quote that supreme authority in my family – my mother, and by the way for keen students of the divisions in my family on matters of the EU, I want you to know that I have kept the ace up my sleeve – my mother voted ‘leave,’” Prime Minister Johnson said then. According to The Telegraph, Johnson Wahl was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 40.

“I try to paint every day if I possibly can, though I have to go to the hospital a lot. I still manage to paint, though my arm will suddenly do a movement which is completely unintentional, and that almost brings me to tears,” she told the newspaper in an interview in 2008.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will set out the government’s winter plan for managing Covid-19 this week, Downing Street said on Monday. Vaccines will continue to be the “first line of defense” over the coming autumn and winter months, supported by new treatments, testing, and the UK’s “world-leading” variant surveillance system, with further lockdowns expected to be ruled out.

Under the autumn-winter proposals, the government is set to repeal some powers of its emergency Coronavirus Act, brought in to tackle the pandemic last year. “Thanks to the efforts of the public, the NHS, and our phenomenal vaccination program, we reached Step 4 in our (lockdown) Roadmap and life has returned to a sense of normality,” said Johnson, ahead of a planned press conference on Tuesday.

“These extraordinary times required necessary but intrusive measures. But I’m determined to get rid of any powers we no longer need because of our vaccine defenses. I will set out the next phase in our Covid response shortly,” he said.

Downing Street has said that while certain powers, such as closing down sectors of the economy, schools, and detention of infectious people are set to go, some vital powers from the Coronavirus Act will be retained to protect and support the public. This includes giving sick pay to those isolated from day one rather than day seven, directing schools to remain open if they close against government guidance, and helping the national health service (NHS) to get the emergency resource it needs.

Legal requirements will remain for someone to isolate if they test positive, to protect the most vulnerable from infection, and to control the spread of variants. Downing Street said that as of September 9, nearly 90 percent of the UK population aged over 16 have received a first dose of the Covid vaccine, and over 80 percent have received both doses.

The latest data from Public Health England (PHE) shows Covid vaccines are highly effective against hospitalization from the Delta (B.1.617.2) variant, first detected in India and currently the dominant strain in the UK. Analysis shows the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is 96 percent effective and the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine – being administered in India as Covishield – is 92 percent effective against hospitalization after two doses.

SpaceX Inspiration 4: The first-ever all-civilian orbital mission

The India Saga Saga |

For the first time in history, SpaceX Inspiration 4 mission is set to launch four civilians to space on Wednesday night aboard a SpaceX capsule. A fully automated dragon capsule is of the same kind that is used to send astronauts to and from the space station (ISS) for NASA. SpaceX’s first private flight will be led by a billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist, Jared Isaacman. He is taking two sweepstakes winners with him and one healthcare worker who survived childhood cancer. Isaacman, a trained pilot is the one who is bankrolling the entire trip on his behalf. Billionaire Jared Isaacman purchased the flight as a part of an effort to raise millions for st. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As the private flight’s benefactor, Jared Isaacman, says: “This is the first step toward a world where everyday people can go and venture among the stars.”

Inspiration 4 bellwether mission is wholly constituted of civilians with no professional space experience, although the crew has undergone the necessary training but still they can not be counted in the space experts. The Inspiration 4 is set to blast off on Wednesday, September 15, at 8.00 P.M. EDT.  The launch will take place from Kennedy space center, the men & two women will rise higher 100 miles than the space station, seeking an altitude of 357 miles. If it goes all planned then Inspiration 4 will make rounds on the internet for its remarkable historic step and it will become the only first fully private mission of spacecraft that will open numerous opportunities for commoners to travel to space without any restriction and control.

“We’ve been hearing that for so long, that until it happens, it’s not unusual that people are a little skeptical about that,” says Alan Ladwig, who in the 1980s led NASA’s Space Flight Participant Program, an initiative to send civilian storytellers like teachers and journalists to space as a way to get the public excited about human spaceflight.

“But in order to get to the endpoint we want, you have to go through this initial step, with the early adopters and paying higher costs to go in order to eventually lower the cost,” he exclaimed.

‘Alive’ And Fine, says Baradar After Death Rumours

The India Saga Saga |

Amid rumours on social media of his death, Taliban leader and deputy Prime Minister in the new Taliban government, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has said in an audio statement that he is ‘alive’ and well. He rubbished off the rumours as media propaganda.

“Over the past few nights, I have been away on trips. Wherever I am at the moment, we are all fine, all my brothers and friends,” he said in the audio message.

“Media Propaganda”

He further said, “Media always publishes fake propaganda. Therefore, bravely reject all those lies, and I 100 per cent confirm to you there is no issue and we have no problem.”

The audio clip was released by the Taliban spokesperson, Mohammad Naeem on Twitter yesterday.

However, its authenticity could not be established, said the Hindustan Times in its report.

Death Rumours

Many media reports had claimed that a violent clash had taken place on Friday between two Taliban factions in Kabul. One was headed by the leader of the Haqqani network, Anas Haqqani and the other side was the group supporting Mullah Baradar. Reportedly, violence erupted between the two after disagreements on how to resolve the Panjshir situation.

Since Friday, social media was flooding with claims that in the gunfight, which allegedly took place at the Afghan Presidential Palace in Kabul, Baradar got seriously injured and died in an Islamabad Military Hospital amid treatment.

Such reports were also supported by the National Resistance Front (NRF) of Afghanistan, the militant group fighting the Taliban in the Panjshir valley.

On Sunday, the NRF had tweeted that Baradar was either injured or died in a violent power struggle with Anas Haqqani and claimed that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief, Lt. General Faiz Hameed was also present at the moment. It had also pointed towards Baradar’s absence in the media for the last few days.

After the release of the audio statement, the NRF has again raised questions that an audio clip had been released instead of Baradar coming in front of the camera.

The International Face Of Taliban

Baradar was among the four co-founders of the Taliban movement in Afghanistan. He was the Defence Minister in the Taliban government when the United States (US) had invaded Afghanistan in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks.

In 2010, he was arrested by Pakistan but got released in 2018 on the US intervention as it was planning to initiate peace talks with the Islamist group.

During the negotiations with the US, he was the face of the Taliban and the signatory of the Doha Agreement signed on February 29, 2020.

The India Saga Saga |

An artist’s journey truly starts when he surpasses himself and starts taking risks in his career because the more risk he takes, the more milestones he would achieve. Sometimes, we truly get to know ourselves when we are in our own company and that is what happened last year during pandemic. While many people were struggling with these sudden confines that they were put into, some discovered their passion and invested their time into it. Bhagwan Singh being the latter discovered how music is something that he always wanted to pursue and he decided to learn it finally before he would go on to release his debut song that will amass more than a million views on YouTube.

Bhagwan Singh who hails from Roopnagar, Punjab is 18 years old singer who made his debut with his song “Meri Rooh” on YouTube last year that has more than one million views on YouTube. Bhagwan Singh is currently studying in Chadigarh’s GGDSD College and is quite a sensation among his friends after his success as a musician and singer. It is important to note that Bhagwan is also a National Dueball champion and has played cricket and badminton for his state.Bhagwan Singh told us that he always wanted to pursue music but due to studies and other hindrances, he was unable to focus on music. It is during the lockdown that he found that music is something that does not only bring him peace and happiness but he feels purposeful while working on his music and singing. He finally enrolled himself for online music programs and continued his riyaaz and practice before making debut with his song “Meri Rooh”.

Meri Rooh is a romantic song sung by Bhagwan Singh which was released by the music label Arsara Music. The video is beautifully shot and shows the story of a couple sharing romantic bond who unfortunately part their ways. Shortly after the success of Meri Rooh, Bhagwan Singh dropped another soulful track Bapu Tera Putt in which showcases the beautiful relationship that a father and son share.

Bhagwan Singh is very conscientious about his culture and roots. Being a Sikh himself, he is proud of his identity and his community and obviously so. His latest song “The Turban” emphasizes on the same sentiments. In this song, he could be seen singing about his roots and how being a Sikh is a thing to be proud of. The hook of the song is catchy and literally translates into “We tie turban on our heads, we are unique among the others.” Bhagwan Singh has phenomenal vocal ability and he sounds really unique. Bhagwan Singh told us that he will launch more banger tracks that will inspire the youth and motivate them to do something in future.
