InVideo’s April Fool’s Day Campaign Pranks 2500 Subscribers

The India Saga Saga |

IVA receives an organic reach of 200K users across all digital media

Mumbai, April 3rd, 2021: While, throughout the year brands remain honest with their audience to score credibility, it is this one day, where they get to play a prank on them with some wit and quirk.  Capitalizing on the opportunity, InVideo, the SaaS Company launched yet another whacky campaign for this April Fool’s Day with an innovative concept to engage its audience.

Just a few days before April Fool’s Day, the company carved a plan to make the most out of all its digital properties. It played a prank by announcing a new IVA (Intelligent Video Assistant) feature iva.invideo.io, a voice command video editor assistant which can create videos for users in minutes, without them having to lift a finger.  The company took to its social media platforms and issued a press release as a part of the prank.

InVideo’s creative team made a landing page outlining all the benefits of the AI video maker asking users to sign up in order to get updates and early access to the feature which is set to launch in April. The fun part was when the CEO, Sanket Shah posted a video on his Facebook group of 28000 members, announcing the launch of IVA, just as he has been doing it for every new product launch in the past. And within a matter of one day, it reached 15000 users, generating curiosity.

As soon as the campaign rolled out, people started engaging by adding their comments. One such user, Shasvathi Siva, was thrilled with the thought of never-seen-before voice command for a video-creating app.  Whereas, other users jumped at the opportunity and signed up for an IVA subscription.

There were messages and tweets about the launch of IVA.

Taking it a step further, InVideo sent out a newsletter introducing the IVA feature with a ‘call to action’ – so that the existing users can be the first in the queue to get their access, or should we say, get fooled!

In just a matter of two days, the campaign achieved an organic reach of 200,000 users, without any social media posts and ads. The campaign strategically banked on various digital tools such as stories, newsletters, website landing page, and one single tweet!

The entire campaign seemed so real that more than 2500 people subscribed to the waitlist. A little secret, even brand competitors signed up for early access to know about this fun feature. On 1st April, InVideo provided a link to all its registered users, only to reveal that it was all a practical joke – while a voice assistant does exist, it can’t churn out videos (not as yet at least).

Sanket Shah, CEO of Invideo said, “The idea behind this prank was to make a bold move and entice the audience with something to look forward to. Aside from the entertainment generated by the campaign, we are pleased with the interest shown by the audience, and the insightful data it has provided for our learning as a consumer brand. For instance, every 1 in 2 people from our existing customer base who landed on our website, signed up for the IVA feature. This was an excellent marketing tactic with a whole lot of fun!”

With the IVA launch prank, InVideo left no stone unturned. To make it sound more believable, the brand fooled by issuing a press announcement which garnered coverage in 400 plus publications, and here’s a peek at what they talked about the “The IVA Launch”

Blogger Brajesh Kumar Singh is a living example of hard work’s results

The India Saga Saga |

Brajesh Kumar Singh from Bihar is the perfect example of the hard work results

There is no denying that today’s world is competitive. It has always been, but the supply-demand ratio of job vacancies to applicants is unfavorable to the latter by the highest margin in recent decades. And the stories of those who rise to success with even fewer facilities become an inspiration for others. One such personality is Mr. Brajesh Kumar Singh, a renowned name in the digital marketing industry who has worked with renowned brands like SKORE, Cadbury, Max Bupa, etc. as a campaign strategist. Now working with Mercedes Benz, Singh is now a famous blogger and also founder of famous websites like Apna Contest, Feedknock, and TrickDefined.

While he continues to add feathers to his cap and achieve more goals, equally interesting is his story of success. Seeing Brajesh as a person in front of oneself, it’s hard to imagine that this humble guy was once a vegetable seller. But as it is said, ‘the harder the climb, the better the view’.

Born in a grounded household in the Chakrajali village in Bihar, Brajesh constantly took on challenges. His journey was always ridden with bumps, and the ride wasn’t a smooth one. But what matters the most is, when most of us surrender to the situations, this man got up each time and took on the problems, eye to eye.

He was always a bright student in school, a talent which is praised by his teachers and friends alike; seldom terming him in the ‘outstanding’ league despite limitations. This man almost topped the Bihar State Board examinations in class 10th, only missing out on the top position by just 15 marks. In his higher secondary, he was a science student, and like most Indian teenagers hoped to clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), an engineering entrance assessment conducted for admission to various engineering colleges including the venerable IITs.

However, he could not crack the exam; but he did not get sad and compromise with his dreams. He knew what he wanted, and went to grab it. He then cleared the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) and landed in a reputed engineering college in Kolkata. However, hailing from a lower-middle-class family had made him struggle for finances in his initial days. But giving up was something not in this young man’s dictionary.

When issues with his student loan arose, Brajesh didn’t even hesitate to reach out to the highest levels of authority to get what he rightfully deserved. He knocked on the doors of the Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr. Nitish Kumar himself, and the way was cleared with his earned luck. During this time, he started exploring the world of digital marketing, a field that would transform his life in the coming years. With his dedication and hard work, he secured his job at Capgemini during college placements, and earned laurels even within the company- ‘PAT on the BACK’ and ‘STAR Award for best Customer Delivery’.

Brajesh’s life has one very important lesson for all of us. Each person faces problems in his/her life, and what differentiates leaders from followers is the attitude towards solving the issues. His life didn’t go the way he wanted in IIT, but he made the most out of what he had, molded into the container he was put in my life, and excelled in each one of them. This dedication also made him awarded the Global Young Leaders Fellowship and Karmaveer Chakra awards.

Assam EVM Row: Election Commission suspends 4 poll officials, orders repoll

The India Saga Saga |

Hours after the episode of EVM being shipped in a BJP MLA’s private vehicle set off a debate in survey bound Assam, the Election Commission of India delivered an explanation on the arrangement of occasions that occurred on Thursday night after the second period of casting a ballot deduced in the state.

“This is a criminal act and we demand immediate disqualification of the candidate. This is clear that the BJP is losing in Assam that is why it is using illegal means to win the elections, which is unacceptable,” ANI quoted Congress leader Sushmita Dev as saying.

A ruckus broke out in Assam’s Karimganj on Thursday after locals found an EVM being transported in a vehicle that belonged to BJP candidate Krishnendu Paul. The polling officials reportedly took a ride in the Mahindra Bolero, registered in the name of Paul’s family member, some three kilometers from Karimganj after their own vehicle broke down midway on the way to Patharkandi Vidhan Sabha.

Meanwhile, dubbing the BJP a serial offender in such cases, Congress’s UP General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, in a series of tweets, sought a serious re-evaluation of the use of EVMs by all national parties. She took a sarcastic dig at the BJP saying, every time the videos of private vehicles caught transporting EVMs surface, the vehicles usually belong to BJP candidates or their associates.

“The Presiding Officer was issued a show-cause notice for violation of the transport protocol. Thereafter, the PO and three other officials have been placed under suspension.” EC said in an official statement.

ComHQ redefines buyer experience with its tech-driven approach

The India Saga Saga |

Technology has bolstered an era of comparative ease by deploying such resources that are making complex tasks easy to get through.

With changing times, there is an ever-increasing transformation in the IQ of buyers or customers. Their knowledge today is vast and therefore they actively seek better ways to find products that are the closest to their requirements by going through a series of filtering out products based on personal requirements but are still stuck due to very close and overwhelming choices.

This concept is called analysis-paralysis; here, an individual falls deep into the pit of getting confused again and again because of overanalyzing the data or in this case, comparing and contrasting various products. Therefore, a need was felt to bring in place a B2B review platform that gives the responsibility in the hands of the buyer to make detailed comparisons before investing in any product.

The forum of ComHQ caters to this overarching need with its established and celebrated forum where tech buyers and sellers can interact to fulfill their individual needs in a more transparent manner. It’s simple, whenever a consumer wants to make a purchase, they go on the ComHQ website and begin surfing the product post entering some basic details or filters to get them most closest to their ideal choice.

Designed by keeping in mind the demand of consumers to get a non-differentiating platform that helps them in finding the most suited product/service to providing the sellers the incentive of showcasing their products for the general users, ComHQ has become the harbinger of a seamless transfer of information from one end to the other.

The platform empowers both the ends of the supply chain by helping verified users of a product in leaving honest and unbiased reviews for others to take hints from. It also gives the vendor a chance to identify and analyze the reasons why the user is selecting or not selecting their offerings from the sea of goods and services.

The sovereign state of giving valuable feedback helps its users to clear off their heads when they are at crossroads to buy any product for their business needs. ComHQ has listed tons of software products and services on its platform which are generally available from the perspective of catering to business owners.

It is a completely tech-driven platform that has a database of thousands of business products and services with an intelligent system that reads through the entire database to find the top matched searches. These mechanisms are increasingly being put to use by business houses to make practical and efficient choices of a product/service which is bespoke to their business aspirations.

Centre withdraws order on an interest rate cut on small savings schemes

The India Saga Saga |

Hours subsequent to telling huge cuts in little reserve funds instruments’ profits for this quarter, the public authority has backtracked on these sharp cuts. This is the first occasion when the Center has rejected the told loan fees on little reserve funds plans in the wake of changing to a quarterly financing cost setting framework in April 2016.

“Interest rates of small savings schemes of GoI shall continue to be at the rates which existed in the last quarter of 2020-2021, ie, rates that prevailed as of March 2021. Orders issued by oversight shall be withdrawn”, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in a tweet early Thursday morning.

This would make the fourth consecutive quarter in which the government has maintained the rates on such schemes. According to the recent decision, PPF and NSC will continue to offer interest of 7.1% and 6.8% for the coming three months. The now-withdrawn order would have otherwise made the effective rates from April 1, 6.4% and 5.9% for the PPF and NSC, respectively.

The Finance Ministry on March 31 have cut one-year time deposit rates to 4.4 percent from 5.5 percent, and two-year, three-year, four-year, and five-year recurring deposit rates to 5 percent, 5.1 percent, 5.8 percent, and 5.3 percent, from 5.5 percent, 5. 5 percent, 6.7 percent, and 5.8 percent, respectively.

It had also cut interest rates of the Senior Citizen Savings Schemes to 6.5 percent from 7.4 percent; of the Public Provident Fund Scheme to 6.4 percent from the earlier rate of 7.1 percent; of the Kisan Vikas Patra scheme to 6.2 percent from 6.9 percent; and of the Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme to 6.9 percent from 7.6 percent.

“These interest rate cuts are in line with overall interest rate movement in the financial system. When bank lending deposit rates fall sharply, small savings rates have to follow to align with the larger trend,” the ministry had justified.

Vrajesh Unadkat, a newly elected Surat MC Corporator comes with innovative ways to help the poor

The India Saga Saga |

Vrajesh Unadkat is a young and dynamic politician from Surat. Hailing from the textile city, known for his innovation. He was recently elected as a counselor at the Surat Municipal Corporation and was recently chosen for the tenure and as like his innovation in winning elections, he is also replicating the same by requesting his friends to give him old newspapers rather than giving his bouquet and garlands. He says he will sell them off to raise funds for the needy students.

The politician who won the election on a BJP ticket claims that he is going to sell all the old newspapers given to him to buy notebooks for the poor students. He happens to be a native of Jasdan and had been based in Surat when he turned active in politics. Vrajesh Unadkat along with his wife Priyanka was seen collecting from flat owners in the residential areas since 2016.  Heading the office of his political career, he started his campaign again to collect ‘raddi’ and old books and started selling them in the market to earn big money to distribute the same to the poor students who are based in the nearby localities in Surat.

Vrajesh Unadkat has been known in the real estate world and has got the ticket just recently for his party in order to contest from this ward 21 in the recently held elections at the SMC. He was quick to post his special appeal to bring in ‘raddi’ and old books for him instead of bringing in flowers and garlands to wish him for his victory. With this appeal, the members of BYM came with 300 KG of ‘raddi’ at his residence while others also donated the same.  To date he has collected ‘raddi’ from more than 2800 houses in Athwalines, Surat over the past few years to help the poor and needy students.

Facebook announces to remove content that violates election

The India Saga Saga |

Citing experiences from the earlier elections, Facebook on Wednesday announced its plans to remove any content found to be in violation of the policy it has formulated. The decision was taken in order to regulate hate speech in view of elections in four states and the Union Territory of Puducherry. Facebook is now taking steps to enhance civic engagement, combat hate speech, limit misinformation, and remove voter suppression.

According to its policy, any content offering to buy or sell votes in exchange for cash or kind will be removed. Additionally, it will also remove explicit claims such as “you will contract Covid-19” if you vote or “do not go to vote as everyone will get the disease”.

“Facebook recognizes its role in creating an informed society. Thus, it will also be reminding people to exercise their right to vote. Facebook has come up with Election Day reminders in order to give voters accurate information and encourage voters,” the company said in a blogpost.

India’s largest market, Facebook informed that it has invested in a proactive technology to detect and reduce the distribution of content in violation of the policy. It added the social media firm is likewise deploying technology to recognize new words related to hate speech.

The company has also pledged to reduce the distribution of content from the accounts found to have repeatedly violated its policies. It added it has partnered with eight third-party fact-checking organizations to tackle misinformation during elections.

The firm also plans public education campaigns and digital literacy training to stop the spread of misinformation.

Facebook has been under fire for allowing hate speech. The opposition Congress in August last year sought a parliamentary panel probe into Facebook’s alleged favorable treatment to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This came following a report in the Wall Street Journal that said Facebook and WhatsApp had refused to bar a BJP lawmaker even as he wrote hateful posts. This was allegedly done to protect the social media company’s commercial interests.

Twitter too acquainted new rules a week ago to contain the spread of false news. It shared tips for users to guarantee that they are getting precise data and information.

To ensure free and fair polls, Both social media intermediaries have also signed a voluntary code of ethics with the Election Commission of India. The government in February introduced new rules to regulate social media content and making companies like Facebook more accountable to requests for quick removal of posts and details on their sources.
