Paytm FASTag: RBI imposed restrictions on Paytm Payments Bank earlier this month, and people are worried about it. We all are curious: if not Paytm, then what else? Paytm was undoubtedly one of the most loved and used apps among Indians. In this article, we will tell you about the list of Banks offering FASTags and the notice that the Reserve Banks of India are issuing.

According to media reports article, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a warning encouraging highway users to obtain FASTags from recognised banks rather than Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL). The directive comes as Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) experiences operational disruptions, with only 32 listed banks authorized to issue FASTags, excluding PPBL.

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) directive, Paytm FASTags would cease to operate after February 29, after the ban placed on PPBL from supplying services beginning next month.

Authorised Banks, as per RBI

The NHAI has identified several banks for FASTag services, including Airtel Payments Bank, Allahabad Bank, AU Small Finance Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharastra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, City Union Bank, Cosmos Bank, Equitias Small Finance Bank, and Federal Bank.

The list also includes Fino Payments Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, IDFC First Bank, Indian Bank, IndusInd Bank, J&K Bank, Karnataka Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Nagpur Nagarik Sahakari Bank, Punjab National Bank, Saraswat Bank, State Bank of India, Thrissur District Cooperative Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, and Yes Bank.

According to the RBI’s January 31 release, while withdrawals or utilisation of balances from Paytm customer accounts, including savings and current accounts, prepaid instruments, FASTags, and National Common Mobility Cards, will be permitted until the available balance is depleted, other banking services will be discontinued after February 29, 2024. According to the RBI, this action against PPBL was taken in response to a detailed system audit report and compliance validation by external auditors.

Rohit-Jadeja tons lift off India from a disastrous start

TheIndiaSaga Team |

The match starts with the debut of two hardworking youngsters (Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel) who knocked on the door of the Indian cricket team for a long time. After winning the toss, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. However, the visitors haunted the pitch for the host’s top order. In the first hour of play, India struggled to get off the mark with 33/3, but their captain, Rohit Sharma, stood firm with the local boy Ravi Jadeja and ended the day on a happy note.

On Rajkot’s flat deck, Rohit-Jadeja, the Indian veterans, displayed their experience and put up a mammoth partnership of 204 runs for the 4th wicket. After being reduced to 33/3, India could have dropped further down, with the pressure beginning to show at the other end. A watchful Rohit began to change his arm after spending time on the pitch. However, this also resulted in a chance, but Joe Root missed a sharp one at slip when Rohit, on 27, was trying to take on Hartley. He also survived another nervous moment when he was convicted LBW against James Anderson but had it overturned on review where an inside edge was spotted.

Rohit-Jadeja saw through the second season unbeaten, giving India some much-needed stability. The third session began with much promise for India as the duo pressed on the accelerator, with Rohit getting to his 11th Test ton.

However, just as the partnership threatened to push England out, they struck with Rohit falling to the short-ball trap and mistiming a pull-off Wood to midwicket. As England sensed an opening with two debutants slotted to follow, their hopes were trashed with Sarfaraz Khan hitting a sprightly fifty.

The debutant was particularly aggressive against the spinners, sweeping and lofting with confidence; he scored 62 in a 77-run stand with Jadeja, with the latter nearing a hundred. The milestone played a part in Sarfaraz’s dismissal, with Jadeja calling for a quick single but then sending his partner back late. Wood, from mid-on, did not miss the direct hit and left the Indian camp frustrated even as Jadeja brought up his ton a ball later.

Q1. Can you share the inspiration behind starting NoStrain and the passion that drives your brand?

NoStrain was born out of the madness of fads and uncomfortable shoes. Like many, I yearned for the ability to express myself through my sense of style freely—but not at the expense of my feet. This desire for fashionable comfort served as NoStrain’s inspiration.

We decided to source our products from the top footwear factories worldwide due to shifts in sustainability and design. Before releasing the product, we ensure we give the best by wearing it for at least six months. It is customary to take a long time to find the best quality while keeping sustainability in mind.

Redefining Open Footwear: NoStrain’s Mission for Modern India

Q3. NoStrain prioritises comfort. How can this important detail be incorporated into the design without sacrificing style?

When it comes to footwear, comfort is the key. At NoStrain, we seamlessly combine comfort and style, ensuring our designs meet our customers’ needs. Our designs put comfort first by emphasising breathability and ease of movement. Every piece reflects our commitment to offering a cutting-edge, visually stunning, and comfortable experience without sacrificing style. It also demonstrates our commitment to aesthetic harmony.

The path entails constant evolution and a dedication to satisfying our discriminating customers’ ever-changing needs.

Indeed, One of my favourite pairs from Nostrain is the Cork Sandals. This design perfectly captures the brand’s essence with its unmatched comfort and sleek, minimalistic aesthetic. One thing is guaranteed: it is a luxury feel by the combination of premium materials made of cork, and our dedication to craftsmanship is evident in our meticulous attention to detail.

Q6. Given the constantly shifting dynamics of the fashion industry, how do you see NoStrain developing over the coming years?

As the company founder, I see NoStrain growing by remaining flexible in response to changes in the shoe market. We’ll use technology to support creative designs, implement eco-friendly procedures, and promote a community-focused attitude. How YouTube and Instagram crushed Indian Short Video Apps?

TheIndiaSaga Team |

Scrolling short videos has become a hobby for many as the rise of TikTok in India. People enjoy watching funny, relatable and dancing short videos on this particular app named Tiktok and due to several controversies, the app has been banned in India. Native players for short videos due to TikTok’s ban in India, ShareChat’s Moj, MX Player-owned TakaTak, and DailyHunt’s Josh have all made early gains, according to SimilarWeb data that compiles online traffic statistics and analytics.

Shortly after India banned TikTok, Indian apps like Moj, Josh and Sharechat saw a surge in downloads and people gave their full support to start making relatable videos in the Indian app only, propelling it to become the country’s most popular social media app and surpassing TikTok in global downloads by the fourth quarter of 2021.

Indian Short Video Apps that rose to popularity After TikTok Ban

1. Sharechat

Similar to other social networking sites, ShareChat enables its users to produce, find, and exchange content. Users of Sharechat can also follow other users on the same platform, be it friends, fellow content creators, or anyone else they find interesting, and follow their updates regularly. In addition to being enthusiastic about consuming the content that they come across on ShareChat, users are also actively involved in its creation.

2. Moj

Moj is a feature-rich online video-sharing platform available in India. Special effects, emoticons, stickers, and 15- to 1-minute-long short films in categories like dancing, singing, acting, comedy, and education are all included.

With 59 Chinese apps, including Bytedance’s TikTok and Helo, banned by the government on July 1 due to purported threats to the nation’s “sovereignty and security,” all of these short-video platforms are vying for a share of the estimated 100–120 million daily active users market. The apps included, among other things, UC Browser, Club Factory, SHAREit, and popular social media platforms.

How do YouTube and Instagram leverage this existing user base of short Videos?

In recent years short videos have become extremely popular ignoring other short video platforms like Moj, Takatak, and share chat, the most popular social media YouTube and Instagram have taken the place at the top, in the priority lists of users. Watching reels on Instagram and shorts on YouTube is famous among every generation in India.

YouTube

YouTube’s answer to the growing demand for short-form video content was the September 2020 launch of YouTube Shorts. Being a Google subsidiary, Shorts benefits from YouTube’s vast user base and resources, which makes it a strong competitor in the short-form video market.

Opportunities for Monetization: YouTube Shorts’ integration with YouTube’s more extensive monetization features is a major benefit. With the help of the YouTube Partner Program, content producers can monetize their work by running advertisements, selling memberships, and offering Super Chat during live streams.

Broad Audience Reach: YouTube offers a massive audience for Shorts creators, with over 2 billion monthly logged-in users. Those who want to maximise their visibility and grow their following quickly may find this built-in user base beneficial.

Instagram

In August 2020, Instagram introduced Instagram Reels, a feature that sits inside the Instagram app and directly challenges TikTok. Reels, which makes use of Instagram’s enormous user base, has emerged as the preferred platform for brief but interesting videos.

With over 1 billion monthly active users, Instagram is a popular app, and Reels fits right in with it. This implies that users won’t need to download any additional software to view your Reels on a large scale. Customers can see Reel content from accounts they follow and even recommended accounts by just scrolling through their feed; this is as close to TikTok’s “For You Page” on Instagram as it gets.

Instagram Reels provides a range of artistic tools, such as text options, music, and augmented reality effects. This enables producers to infuse their style into videos, giving them a visually appealing and captivating quality.

Bottom line

Shorts and Reels are being considered by both YouTube and Instagram as viable TikTok substitutes. Before releasing them globally, they tested these features in India following the ban on TikTok in that nation. In 2020, a YouGov India survey asked which social media platform Indian users and content creators would prefer over TikTok. The winner was Instagram.

Many TikTok imitators, such as Josh, Roposo, and Moj, have appeared in India with varying degrees of success; however, due to Instagram and YouTube’s widespread user base, many creators have chosen to utilise it instead. These apps seem to crush apps like Moj, Share Chat and Takatak. Instagram’s reel and YouTube shorts algorithm-driven, infinitely scrolling vertical video feed that resembles TikTok’s For You Page and other TikTok knockoffs.

3 Best Dating Apps in India to Find the Love of Your Life

TheIndiaSaga Team |

Valentine’s Day is almost upon us! Let’s not forget that there is still time to find love—or even something casual—before the holiday, even as single people pause to let out a collective sigh. With the help of online dating services, you can discover your soul mate and ensure that no one is alone on Valentine’s Day.  As a result, we’ve outlined the 3 best dating apps in India in this post, along with their functions and methods for helping you find true love.

People’s dating habits are changing due to the constant evolution of online dating apps. Online dating apps are all but inevitable in this technologically advanced age, and they have greatly influenced the dating experiences of numerous people.  The reasons behind people’s use of these apps and the variations in representation that occur are incredibly fascinating.

How do dating apps work?

Online dating typically operates like this: Users create a profile with photos and details about themselves and what they’re looking for on well-known services like Tinder, Bumble, or Grindr. They are then presented with possible matches by an algorithm that considers factors such as their interests, preferences, and place of residence.

In 2012, the industry leader Tinder became famous for this kind of online dating. Users of the app can swipe left or right to indicate whether or not they like the profile sent to them. You can initiate a conversation with someone if they also swipe right on you.

Individuals peruse a preselected roster of other users and typically determine in a matter of moments whether or not they find them appealing. Nevertheless, it frequently happens that a match results in nothing more than a banal exchange of words, and even then, the conversation may end quickly.

3 Best Dating Apps in India

1. Tinder

With Tinder, you can virtually match singles in your area and worldwide. Tinder was a trailblazing app when it first came out in the online dating space in 2012. Similar dating apps like Hinge, Plenty of Fish, and OkCupid—all of which, like Tinder, are owned by the same parent company, Match Group—began to appear after their enormous success.

You must register for an account on Tinder and fill it out with information about your gender, age, distance from home, and preferred gender. You then start swiping. You can swipe left or right depending on how you feel about someone after seeing their photo and a brief biography. Should someone else swipe right, you will be matched and able to start a conversation.

2. Bumble

The women-focused dating and networking app Bumble first surfaced as Tinder’s direct rival. This app tries to help you find friends, partners, and local professionals to network with all from one location rather than just speed dating.

You only need to swipe left or right to match someone. Your potential matches are displayed when you launch the app. The other person’s profile, linked photos, and additional details will be visible. You can also find a spot where you can tap on an x or a checkmark to match someone if you scroll to the bottom of the page.

A star icon representing Bumble’s in-app purchase of Bumble coins and Super Swipes can be seen at the bottom of the profile. Instead of exchanging back and forth like you would when meeting people through an app, you can confidently show another user that you are interested in them by using these coins.

A screen displaying your match will appear if you swipe to match with someone and they’ve already swiped right on you. Additionally, this is a convenient moment to introduce yourself with a hello message.

3. Hinge

In its own words, Hinge is “the only dating app designed to be deleted.” Put differently, Hinge wants its users to find lasting relationships rather than transient ones.

The two main features that set Hinge apart are “Standouts,” a list of your most compatible matches, and “Prompts,” brief questions that add personality and flair to your profile.

How does hinge work?

Hinge is accessible from the iPhone App Store and Android Play Store. Although paid upgrades are available, Hinge is initially free to use.

All the usual information is required when you sign up for Hinge, including your name, email address, birth date, and location. You’ll also have the choice to provide additional personal information about yourself, such as your height, political views, religion, and other details.

Hinge prompts

The Prompts, private inquiries about your interests and life, are the most crucial component of the registration process. To create an account, you must respond to three prompts; your responses are shown on your profile. You can change the Prompts on your profile anytime, and there are several dozen to choose from.

Bottom Line

Dating apps and websites can gradually enhance their reputation as long as they add new members. You likely use online dating services, whether you enjoy them or not. The convenience of meeting and interacting with like-minded individuals can more than make up for any possible costs associated with using them. Feel free to answer how you met your significant other the next time someone asks. There’s a strong possibility that their love tales began similarly.

Tinder Vs Bumble: Which Dating Application is the Best?

TheIndiaSaga Team |

There are plenty of options available to you when it comes to online dating. Selecting the best dating app can appear daunting initially. For this reason, we’re here to help you sort through your options and choose the best dating site from the top 2 dating apps, i.e. Tinder vs Bumble. Discover how to utilize and find the love of your life with both of these apps.

How does Tinder work?

Tinder revolutionized the world of dating apps. Before Tinder, most dating services, including OkCupid and Match, were web-based and mainly relied on text. It was standard practice to provide lengthy bios and respond to dozens of questions so the algorithms could function.

The process of creating a profile on Tinder became considerably more straightforward. The written bio section of the app is optional, in addition to its primary reliance on photos.

After creating a brief bio and uploading a few pictures, you can use Tinder to find possible matches. Tinder created the “swipe” mechanism, which has since become a standard feature of dating apps and transformed the online dating landscape—much disagreement over whether that development represents a positive or negative shift. However, the swipe is here to stay, regardless of your position in the argument.

It’s a straightforward concept: utilizing the Tinder app is similar to holding a deck of cards, except the cards are Tinder users. You visit each profile, perusing the images and bio to determine whether or not you “like” the person. If so, you make a right swipe. You depart if you aren’t interested.

A match occurs when both users swipe right. You’ll receive an immediate notification from Tinder and a list of users to whom you can now send messages.

How does Bumble work?

The workings of Bumble resemble those of Tinder. Uploading pictures and completing a brief Bumble bio are the only steps in creating a Bumble profile. After that, you swipe through the profiles, liking the ones on the right and not liking the ones on the left.

Unlike Tinder and other dating apps, Bumble restricts the ability to send the first message to women only after a match or mutual like. In addition, a countdown of 24 hours is present. The match expires if she doesn’t message in that window of time.

Because of this feature, Bumble is occasionally called a feminist dating app. However, the founder of Bumble explains that it serves as a safeguard against women receiving excessively unsolicited messages. Bumble offers features for friend and business networking in addition to dating.

Tinder Vs Bumble: Which is better?

Pros and cons apply to both Tinder and Bumble. Tinder is known as a hookup app, but Bumble can also be used for hookups because of its filter options, which let you find more users seeking casual connections.

Whichever app has the most users in your area should be considered when deciding between Tinder and Bumble. Even though Tinder is the more widely used app overall, there are still variations by region.

The significant difference between Bumble and Tinder

What about the woman having to message Bumble first? This is the most evident distinction between Bumble and Tinder and between Bumble and other dating apps.

This may or may not be beneficial, whichever way you prefer to date. This could be a welcome change if you’re tired of initiating contact or sending ignored messages. However, waiting to strike up a conversation may irritate guys passionate about flirting. So, what makes you unique? Do you have the best first impression, or are you most effective when responding to someone else’s note?

Interestingly, women generally had as much difficulty developing intriguing introductions as men did! It’s time for you ladies to get better.

Bumble now offers humorous question polls that require responses from both parties to find out their crush’s response, which should lessen your suffering! This is a terrific method to start a conversation.

It’s important to note that each app has a different feel and atmosphere based on your location. Try the other app if the first one fits your tastes differently.

Farmers started protests demanding MSP from the Union government in Delhi

TheIndiaSaga Team |

The capital, NCT of Delhi, will start witnessing the pack of tractors on its outskirts. Once again, farmers from Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh started gathering around the borders of Delhi to hold a protest against the central government. On 12 February, several senior BJP leaders met with farmers to discuss the agitation issues in Chandigarh. However, the discussion could have been more fruitful, after which the Pandavas decided to start Kisan Andolan 2.0.

Farmers initiated this agitation by demanding their crops’ MSP (minimum support price). The crop growers informed the media that they left the protest sites in 2021, considering the promises made by India’s government regarding MSP.

The meeting held at Chandigarh includes Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal, Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda and government officials. Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) convenor Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee coordinator Sarwan Singh Pandher represented the farmers in the MSP talks.

What is MSP?

The “minimum price” (MSP) is set for any crop that the government deems to be profitable for farmers and thus worthy of “support.” Minimum support price is recommended by the Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices (CACP). The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare department recommends prices for 22 specific crops and a fair and remunerative price for sugarcane.

How MSP is decided?

When recommending MSP, the CACP considers several factors, including cultivation costs, supply & demand conditions, domestic & international market price trends, & the effects on consumers and the environment.

Three types of production costs are taken into account by the CACP: A2, A2+FL, and C2. – A2 pays for farmers’ direct costs, such as labour, seed, fertiliser, and pesticide costs.

A2+FL comprises the value of unpaid family labour in addition to A2 costs. – In addition to A2+FL, C2 is a more complete cost that considers capital assets and owned land rentals as well as interest that is forfeited.

The Union government’s Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) makes the final determination regarding the levels of the Minimum Support Price and other recommendations

Reduce Govt borrowings to promote growth and reduce inflation

TheIndiaSaga Team |

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das stated on Monday that less borrowing by the government than expected will guarantee more excellent room in the banking system for resources to support private sector investments and stabilize inflation. Additionally, he stated that once Indian government bonds are included in JP Morgan’s bond index, the RBI will be able to manage the influx of more foreign capital.

This year’s borrowing is less than what the markets had predicted at first. Less borrowing would guarantee that the banking system would have far more resources available to meet the needs of the private sector,

According to RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das

He added that “lower quantum will help sort of stabilize inflation” and that “cutting government borrowing is a growth-inducing measure as more credit will be available for the private sector to make their investments.” “I wouldn’t like to quantify how much (it will) stabilize. It ought to assist in reducing inflation, he stated.

In her interim budget for 2024–2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman suggested borrowing Rs 14.13 lakh crore through the issuance of dated securities. This is less than the gross borrowing estimate of Rs 15.43 lakh crore, the highest amount ever from the previous year. The government’s intention to adhere to its fiscal consolidation roadmap and the increase in tax revenues are the reasons behind the lower borrowing estimate for 2024–2025.

Das stated, “When making monetary policy, it is one of the factors which is taken into consideration.” The amount of borrowing is crucial for monetary policy. It stimulates growth and helps to control inflation.

Regarding the debt-to-GDP ratio, Das stated that it peaked at 88% during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been gradually declining ever since. The debt-to-GDP ratio should decrease even more as the government reduces its fiscal deficit target to 5.1% of GDP for the upcoming fiscal year and 4.5% in the year that follows.

In terms of government finances, the government must decide what constitutes a manageable amount of debt. We are the government’s debt manager. As the government’s debt manager, RBI’s job is to make sure that the borrowing program for that specific year is completed smoothly and without causing any disruptions, regardless of the government’s stance on the need for borrowing. However, he acknowledged that the debt-to-GDP ratio is one of the most important issues in the fiscal consolidation roadmap.

In contrast to the budgeted 5.9% fiscal deficit, the government’s revised estimate for 2023–24 shows a marginally smaller fiscal deficit of 5.8% of GDP. The government intends to implement the Fiscal Responsibility & Budget Management (FRBM) Act.

Das stated, “If you go by our track record, RBI has managed both when there are outflows and when there are inflows,” about the inclusion in the JP Morgan bond index. The Reserve Bank has a strong history of controlling the flows in both scenarios. Furthermore, we are confident that we can manage the increased anticipated inflows in the future, including this year. We will be prepared to handle it if and when it comes to pass.
