Khan Chacha owner Navneet Kalra lists top ways for reimagining guest experience

The India Saga Saga |

With the hospitality sector bouncing back to normal functions, business owners are acknowledging the renewed need for providing their guests with memorable experiences. A major aspect to this process is to redesign and reimagine the existing services along with introducing some new ones in a bid to ensure that the guests’ demands are met in the best way possible.

We talked to Khan Chacha owner Navneet Kalra to ask for his suggestions on the ways in which restaurants can effectively reimagine their guest experience. According to the prominent Delhi-based restaurateur and entrepreneur, employing new techniques to identify the guests’ needs has become imperative in the current context. He also listed top three ways in which hospitality business owners can provide better experiences to their customers.

Wondering what they are? Scroll on to know more:

Experience-led meals

Restaurants and cafes can offer a wide array of services in additional to their traditional offerings i.e. the meals. According to Khan Chacha owner Navneet Kalra, the presence of a sophisticated wine collection, bespoke interiors and curated gardens for outdoor seating have an enormous impact on the overall guest experiences. “Provide your guests with more than just the meal – offer them a sensory experience that stays with them even after they leave your establishment. Such experiences add on to strengthen customer loyalty,” he says.

Technological innovations

Technology-led innovations have become pretty much the norms for almost every sector in the world, and hospitality is no different. From the surge in online ordering and doorstep delivery services to placing dine-in orders through scanning QR codes and keeping tabs on inventory through automation – the impact of technological innovations can now be felt in almost every aspect of restaurant business.

According to Navneet Kalra, investing in the latest tech-based service can add greatly to the reimagining of guest experience. “When customers walk in your restaurant and see all the latest tech in place, it gives them a reassurance regarding the level of safety while they enjoy their favourite meal. Investing in a robust doorstep delivery infrastructure can also help by commanding customer loyalty,” he says.

Being the trendsetter

It is one thing to follow the popular, but being the trendsetter in the industry takes the appeal of your restaurant business to a whole new level. Navneet Kalra believes in choosing the latter, which is exactly what he has recently done at Town Hall with ‘Live Cooking at Home’. The latest offering by Kalra’s restaurant goes beyond food delivery, Japanese food connoisseurs can now enjoy fresh sushi prepared at their very homes. The service is one of its kind, and holds great potential for setting a new trend.

Pakistan to remain in FATF’s ‘greylist’ of countries that finance terrorism

The India Saga Saga |

On October 21, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) placed Pakistan back on the ‘greylist,’ stating that it needed to show that investigations and prosecutions were being pursued against senior leadership of U.N.-designated terror groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, al-Qaeda, and the Taliban.

“The Pakistani government is running two action plans at the same time, with a total of 34 action plan elements. Thirty of the items have been addressed, or at least in part. Its most current action plan, dated June of this year, was produced after the FATF’s regional partner APG, or Asia Pacific Group, highlighted a number of money laundering flaws.

“The Pakistan Government has two concurrent action plans with a total of 34 action plan items. It has addressed or largely addressed 30 of the items. Its most recent action plan from June this year, which largely focussed on money laundering deficiencies, was issued after the FATF’s regional partner APG, that is Asia Pacific Group, identified a number of serious issues,” said Dr. Player.

Dr. Pleyer said that while Pakistan was making good progress on the new action plan, four of the seven items had been addressed or largely addressed, Pakistan was still assessed to have largely addressed 26 of the 27 items in the previous action plan, which focused on terrorist financing issues and dated back to June 2018.

PM Modi lauds India on the completion of 100 crore vaccine mark

The India Saga Saga |

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded India’s journey on completing the 100 crores Covid-19 vaccine mark. He described the journey as a “journey from anxiety to assurance”. A day after India completed its remarkable journey in administering 100 crore Covid jabs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continually seen appreciating the achievements. A Hindi newspaper on Friday also published an opinion piece by the PM named “ “Team India-Responding to Adversity with Achievement”.

In the article, PM Modi wrote that “the journey from anxiety to assurance has been completed and India has emerged stronger, thanks to the world’s largest vaccination program”. He further told that people’s trust in vaccines despite “various efforts to create mistrust and panic” led to this victory.

India crossed the landmark figure of 100 crores in just a short span of nine months despite many doubting the country’s capabilities. This revolutionary milestone was achieved on Thursday making India part of a very exclusive club of nations.

News agency PTI quoted PM Modi as saying. “There was a lot of pressure from different interest groups to give preferential treatment to them in vaccination. But my government takes care that there is no VIP treatment in vaccination drives just like other schemes”.

Crediting the success of 100 crores vaccination milestone to Indian science, enterprise and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians. PM Modi further praised the scientists and entrepreneurs to make the country “aatmanirbhar” in producing vaccines.

“When everyone takes ownership, nothing is impossible. Our healthcare workers traversed hills and crossed rivers across difficult geographies to vaccinate people. Our youth, social workers, healthcare workers, social and religious leaders, all deserve credit for the fact that India faces minimal vaccine hesitancy when compared to even developed nations,” PM Modi wrote in the piece “Team India-Responding to Adversity with Achievement”.

“We remember how unpredictable the situation appeared then, as we were faced by an unknown and invisible enemy mutating rapidly. The journey from anxiety to assurance has happened and our nation has emerged stronger, thanks to the world’s largest vaccination drive,” he said.

“There are some among us who only trust foreign brands, even for simple everyday necessities. However, when it came to something as crucial as the Covid-19 vaccine, the people of India unanimously trusted ‘Made in India’ vaccines. This is a significant paradigm shift,” he said.

India Vaccine drive is an exemplary example of the power of unity. With citizens and people coming together for the sole purpose of saving lives from pandemics. India has shown the spirit of “Jan Bhagidari”

“Our vaccination drive has yet again shown the power of this ‘Team India’,” PM Modi said, recalling his Independence Day speech in 2015, and asserted that India’s success in its vaccination drive has also demonstrated to the whole world that “democracy can deliver”.

Captain Amarinder Singh to float his own party, BJP says ‘Ready for alliance’, Congress hits out at Singh

The India Saga Saga |

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced a move to form his own party. BJP ready to ally while Congress hits out at Singh.

Breaking the long built suspense on his future political career, former Congressman announced that he will float his own party soon. Taking to twitter, media advisor of Captain Amarinder Singh, Raveen Thukral, on Tuesday, announced that Singh will soon launch his own political party. Thukral further added that they are hopeful of a seat arrangement with BJP and like-minded people in 2022 Punjab Assembly Polls if Farmer Protest is resolved.

Singh has also hinted that the prolonged farmers’ agitation over three centre farm laws may be heading towards a resolution soon, with the government holding talks with their representatives. His decision on accepting BJP as partner would depend on a satisfactory resolution of the farm laws issue. Captain on previous occasions, have met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and have appealed to him to find a solution to the farmer protest as early as possible.

It seems his ‘friend request’ has been accepted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “We are ready for an alliance with Captain Amarinder Singh,” said the BJP’s Punjab in-charge Dushyant Gautam. “Our doors are open for an alliance, though only our parliamentary board can take the decision,” Mr Gautam said. He further added thatthe BJP was always ready to join hands with outfits that are nationalistic, concerned about the country and concerned about national security.

The BJP said despite differences with Amarinder Singh when he was Chief Minister in the Congress government, it had common concerns. “We opposed him when he spoke against the welfare of the people of Punjab. But when it came to national security or border security, we kept praising him. He has been a soldier. We believe he is a good patriot,” Mr Gautam said.

Congress hit out at Singh for his new move. “His (Singh’s) statement is really shocking. It seems he has killed the ‘secular Amarinder’ within him,” AICC general secretary and Punjab incharge Harish Rawat said on Wednesday. “Who can forgive the BJP that has kept farmers at the borders for 10 months? Can Punjab forgive them for the manner in which farmers’ agitation has been dealt with?” he said.

Captain Amarinder Singh had earlier tendered his resignation from the post of Punjab Chief Minister after falling out with Navjot Singh Sidhu and the Gandhis. He is yet to quit from Congress. With this new move, Captain has made the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections very interesting.

More than one billion Covid vaccines administered in India

The India Saga Saga |

Since launching its vaccination campaign in January of this year, India has given out over a billion Covid vaccines. It reached this milestone in 278 days, with the first vaccine administered on January 16th. It has fully vaccinated approximately 30% (291 million) of the eligible population, with 707 million receiving the first dose.

India aims to fully vaccinate one billion people by the end of 2021, but experts say the drive needs to pick up speed even more in order to meet the target. In order to reach one billion doses in 278 days, India had to administer 3.6 million doses per day on average. However, the number of doses actually administered each day has been inconsistent and varies greatly since January.

So far, the country has reported over 34 million Covid cases, second only to the United States, and over 452,000 deaths, trailing only the United States and Brazil. In the last 24 hours, India has administered over four million vaccinations. According to experts, the country will need to administer more than 10 million doses per day to fully vaccinate all eligible adults by the end of 2021.

On September 17, India administered more than 20 million doses in a single day to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday. Experts say that while record-breaking days are encouraging, vaccination rates must continue to rise. India administered an average of 5.3 million doses per day in October. From September 19 to October 18, the average daily doses given increased slightly to six million. This is still far short of the required 10 million vaccinations, according to experts. When it came to vaccinations, India got off to a sluggish start, with only 960 million people eligible. During this time, logistical issues and supply bottlenecks, vaccine hesitancy, and a crippling second wave of Covid-19 made the rollout more difficult.
