Shah Rukh Khan arrived at Arthur Road jail to visit his son Aryan Khan

The India Saga Saga |

The special NDPS court has rejected the bail application of superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. Arbaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha will also be kept behind the bars for their illicit use of drugs.

The special court in its order said that they have encountered proof that shows that the accused are dealing with illicit drugs activities on a regular basis.

The special NDPS court made some serious observations on the WhatsApp chat of Aryan Khan and then made the decision of rejecting the bail application of Aryan Khan who is in jail since October 3 after being detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug seizure case.

Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday arrived at the Arthur Road jail to meet his son Aryan Khan who is not granted bail yet. Both had a conversation for around 16 to 18 minutes in the visitation section. The father-son duo was separated by a glass partition and both took the hold of conversation through the intercom. Jail authorities were also present at the time of their meeting.

The lawyers of Aryan and Dhamecha have moved to the Bombay High court for bail. The court said, “WhatsApp chats brought before the court show that Aryan has been dealing with illicit drug activities of narcotics substances on a regular basis. Therefore it can’t be said that Aryan is not likely to commit a similar offence while on bail.”

Aryan Khan along with Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha have been charged and put behind the bars under Sections 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29, and 35 of the NDPS Act.

Many reputed celebrities from Salman Khan, Suniel Shetty, Hrithik Roshan, Swara Bhaskar, to Raveena Tandon have come out in support of Shahrukh Khan and his family.  Currently, Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant are lodged at Arthur Road prison in Mumbai. India and China will resume border talks, focusing on resolving Hot Springs issue

The India Saga Saga |

India and China have agreed to hold another Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) meeting on border affairs this month in order to break the deadlock created by the 13th round of senior commanders meeting on October 10. Both parties have agreed to hold the meeting, but the dates have yet to be determined.

According to officials in New Delhi and Beijing, the WMCC, which is led by additional secretary level officials on both sides, will have a difficult time resolving the disengagement and restoring patrolling rights to the Indian Army in Depsang Bulge and Charding Nullah Junction (CNJ), Demchok, due to the Peoples’ Liberation Army’s obstinate attitude (PLA). According to reports, during the 13th round of military commanders’ meetings, the PLA resorted to half-measures to resolve the disengagement in the Hot Springs area, refusing to return to permanent bases or restoring the status quo ante as it existed in April 2020.

In May 2020, the PLA unilaterally changed ground positions on the north banks of the Pangong Tso, Galwan, Gogra, and Hot Springs in East Ladakh in an attempt to impose the rejected 1959 line along the 1597-kilometer Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. While the PLA decided to withdraw from its current position in the Hot Springs area in a half-hearted attempt to resolve the conflict, they did not agree to return to a permanent base, as stipulated in previous India-China leadership meetings. The Indian Army representative, for his part, rejected this proposal, insisting that both parties return to their permanent bases to resolve the Hot Springs issue.

Pinnacle – The most creative brand setting a precedent of innovation and recognizing milestones on a massive scale

The India Saga Saga |

In talk with Ms Nidhi Jain Seth, Founder Pinnacle and Positively Perfect

1) Tell us something about your brand? What makes it unique from other brands?

Positively Perfect is a unique gifting online store. The brand, through power of words, motivates people and is emphasising on bringing a change in destinies while giving them courage and making them feel more loved and inspiring them to accomplish the impossible. With the medium of words, our organisation aims to remind people of what they yearn to be reminded of and most importantly, weave words in a way that connects to their souls and encourages them to be the best version of themselves. Positively Perfect was established with a goal to encourage people and make them the best version of themselves through emotional moments which makes them more memorable. Serving people with an extensive range of products meant to stir a vibe.

Pinnacle is a leading brand that recognises the efforts of people and the loyal support of one’s customer, enabling companies across all verticals to laud their people with recognitions and awards. Launched in 2000, Pinnacle is one of the most creative brands setting a precedent of innovation and recognising milestones on a massive scale. Offering a range of exemplary products that inspire one to work more passionately, the brand has built its rapport in the sector as a one-of-its-kind venture. Focusing on design and brewing new themes and ideas for the people of India, Pinnacle crafts exceptionally exquisite awards and gifts for HRs to praise their teams with, the company to appreciate its customers with and the people to uplift their professional spirits with.

2) What are some of the USP’s of your brand? What kind of products/ services do you offer?

All the brands that I have created belong to a niche segment. Even though the main product category may be common, like Awards and Trophies, the kind of products we offer are pretty unique and make us stand apart from the crowd which further makes our customers keep coming back to us.

We have an exhaustive collection of thoughtful awards based on themes that brands can use for their specific needs. Like we have an entire collection of Awards for Long Service Recognition or our Infinite Possibility Award that is sculpted in the shape of an infinity symbol with a staircase built all around it. We have miniature skating shoes to appreciate people who work at great speed. Well the list is endless.

Even for Positively Perfect, it’s not just another online gift site. We only sell inspirational and devotional gifts. Gifts that help you become a better version of yourself. Our focus is very clear. If it does not encourage you to become a better person or makes you spiritually connected to whatever you believe in, you will not find it in our online store. Even for children under our brand, Epically, we create games that bring them closer to Indian Mythology and Indian Values, so they are not just another set of games to keep them busy.

3) What inspired you to do what you are doing right now?

When I started a manufacturing company in 2000, my inspiration was that I wanted to create something unique, something different that I could present in the market. Something that would make people happy. Often when you get recognized it’s an emotional moment, and many of these moments serve as lifelong memories. What I create for people in Pinnacle is a part of that precious memory which makes it special and fulfilling for me.

Positively Perfect, a brand of inspirational and Devotional gifts actually came from my own life experiences when I went through over ten years of illness. What kept my spirits high was the love and support of my family and the inspirational & spiritual books and seminars that I attended. Words and stories are really powerful. They shape the internal dialogue that we have with ourselves constantly, which shapes the quality of our life. This is a relatively new brand, just over two years old. I am just getting started. And the fact that Positively Perfect products can be a part of people’s journey in their most challenging times or their happiest times inspires me to do more.

But what keeps manufacturing quite honestly is that I can create jobs at the blue-collar level and pay fair wages and all the benefits to them. People outside the industry may not realize how poorly people are paid at the factory level in our industry. I am happy that I can make a difference in the life of my factory people.

4) Market Expectations post pandemic and future outlook

The market is going through an interesting churn, which has never happened in the Recognition and Gifts industry. Typically changes are driven by external factors: introduction of new technology, a new way of branding, or a new product category gets introduced, and everyone starts to gravitate around it. But right now, along with the external environment, what is changing is the internal mindset of the people. And it is changing at a global level. It’s changing for everyone, both giving awards and gifts and for people receiving them. Companies are now thinking about the entire family and not just about the person part of their company.

I see more thought going into selecting the gifts and how they will make people feel vs. let’s finish this work. People are more considerate and thoughtful, and generous with what they want to do for team members. It’s like that feeling you get. Don’t worry; we are in it together. Even our client and vendor relationship now exists at an entirely different level. And since this pandemic is not short-lived, the change will also probably get hardwired in us. It will be our new way of living.

5)Brief about newly launched Epically Ramayana, Epically Mahabharata and Epically Vahana

Ramayana is created for children above 6 years of age and is packed in a sturdy and compact box, perfect to carry for travel and vacation and comes with a “love it or return it” guarantee.

Epically Mahabharata and Epically Vahana are also very unique in nature and will help the kids become more inquisitive and aware about our mythology besides having loads of fun with them. While Epicallly Vahana is a fun way to introduce the mythological animal kingdom to our children; Epically Mahabharata will take them through one of the most dynamic and complex mythological tales and its stories in the most fun way.

US rising concern over China’s hypersonic missile test

The India Saga Saga |

The United States is “very concerned” about China’s hypersonic missile test, US disarmament ambassador Robert Wood said on Monday after reports came out that Beijing launched a hypersonic missile with a nuclear capacity in August.

“We are very concerned by what China has been doing on the hypersonic front,” Robert Wood told reporters in Geneva.

The initial reports in the Financial Times newspaper reported that China has launched a nuclear capable missile in August that becomes successful in travelling the earth at low orbit before missing out on its target. Further, a long March rocket  was used to launch a hypersonic missile. Financial Times claimed that the Beijing test of the missile circling the earth had been kept under wraps.

“We just don’t know how we can defend against that type of technology. Neither does China or Russia,” Wood told reporters.

“This was not a missile, this was a spacecraft,” Zhao Lijian, the foreign ministry spokesperson  said on Monday. “This is of great significance for reducing the cost of spacecraft and providing a convenient and cheap way for humans to use space for peaceful purposes.”

Hypersonic missiles have the capability to fly more than five times the speed of sound. They are being constructed in such a way that they only need a few trajectory in the atmosphere and further make them harder to defend against.

The reported launch of a hypersonic missile perplexed the minds of observers in Washington One US official informed the FT: “We have no idea how they did this.” The FT report said Beijing’s progress in the field had “caught US intelligence by surprise”.

“The timing isn’t surprising at all,” said Tong Zhao, a senior fellow of the nuclear policy programme based at the Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Beijing. “China is known to have been conducting research on new delivery technologies for some time. But even if this reported launch was a weapons test, it may be far from becoming an operational capability.

“If the FT report was true, it means that China is willing to go the extra mile with a exotic approach to penetrate the US’s missile defence,” he said, adding that the US had “long possessed a very similar and more sophisticated technology, such as the X-37B spacecraft”.

Besides China, the US, Russia and at least five other countries are testing a new hypersonic missile. The hypersonic missile is designed to deliver a nuclear warhead and has the potential to hit the target more speedily as compared to the other ballistic missiles.

‘Mental harassment is never visible,’ says a Mumbai court, compensation for victim of domestic violence

The India Saga Saga |

According to the Mumbai Sessions Court, mental harassment is a mental injury that is never visible to the naked eye and must be established based on the facts and circumstances of each case. This was stated by Judge AC Daga while dismissing a Ghatkopar resident’s petition challenging the compensation awarded to his wife by the Vikhroli Magistrate Court under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The couple married in June 2013, and the woman lived with her husband until September 2014. She then filed a lawsuit against the husband and his family.

The husband was ordered by the Magistrate court to pay Rs 10,000 per month in maintenance, Rs 5,000 per month in rent for alternate housing, and Rs 1,000,000 in compensation for domestic violence. The husband told the Sessions Court that his wife did not require the rent because she worked and lived with her parents. He also claimed that because there was no domestic violence, the compensation order was invalid. He went on to say that there is no medical evidence that she was beaten.

The Sessions Court observed that the wife was subjected to mental and physical harassment by her husband and his family. The court added, “It is not always that injuries on the woman’s body can be seen because immediately after the assault, they normally do not go for medical tests or are not allowed to go for medical tests by their in-laws.”

“In this matter, ample evidence has been given by the respondent (wife) to show that she was subjected to mental and physical harassment by the appellants (husband and family),” the court said. The husband was also alleged to suffer from erectile dysfunction. Although the husband denied it, the court said, “It becomes the duty of the appellant (husband) to lead appropriate evidence to nullify the allegations. No evidence has been laid down,” said the court.

The wife also claimed that when she touched the husband on October 12, 2014, he pushed and slapped her, causing her nose to bleed. The husband denied it, claiming that his mother had cataract surgery on October 9, so the assault did not take place. The court, however, stated that there was no evidence to show that the mother was still in the hospital on October 12, 2014, as a cataract patient is typically discharged on the day of surgery.

According to the court, there is plenty of evidence that she was subjected to domestic violence. The wife also stated that she had no source of income, whereas the husband had a monthly income of Rs 35,000, was a partner in a firm with 50% ownership, and had purchased a flat for Rs 25,00,000. ‘It was the husband’s responsibility to keep the wife at the same standard of living,’ she said.
