Coping with the New Normal: The Success Story of ITM Global School, Gwalior

The India Saga Saga |

ITM Global School, Gwalior is a New Age School which has always stayed abreast with the various technological revolutions and pedagogical practices in the field of education. Since its inception in 2014, it has remained committed towards providing quality education to the students of Gwalior and beyond.  It has established itself as a pioneer in the region – its very commitment towards its vision is sincerely rendered through its world class infrastructure, lush green campus surrounded by the undulating hills of the Vindhyachal Range, diverse creative activities, rigorous professional development of its teachers and deep involvement in the community services.

Despite all the wonderful physical facilities in place, the pandemic disrupted the very use of the same. The biggest challenge before the school was how to virtually and remotely continue with the education of the school children, and yet meet the expectations of the various stakeholders under such a circumstance.

The use of various cutting-edge technology for delivering knowledge and skills was not new to the ITM Global fraternity. The pandemic only made them more pervasive and acceptable. The need of the hour was to shift the schooling experience from being physical to being virtual. Luckily for the School, two virtual platforms – an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and an LMS (Learning Management System) were already in place. All that was needed was to augment them for suiting the purpose. This was done with a war footing. And while these platforms were being enhanced, orientation sessions were organized for the students, and extensive computational skills were provided to the teachers. It was amazing to witness how quickly the teachers and students overcame their digital challenges – learning, unlearning and relearning one thing at a time. With every new technique mastered, the online classes became more and more lively and interactive.

It is worth mentioning that ITM Global was the first among schools in the Chambal region to start the online classes. It not only stayed true to its Year Calendar, it did not allow the loss of a single working day in order that its students do not lose out on their education. Not only this, believing firmly in the ethos of the holistic development of the child, various activities were shifted to the online platforms – the Morning Assembly, the Investiture Ceremony, the Summer Camp, the Model United Nations, the Olympiads and the various Competitions. While Microsoft Teams linked to the LMS became the portal for delivering the virtual lessons, the ERP became the Exam Portal of the School. Having all the advanced features, the latter was designed for the systematic conduction of the exams. Thus, the parents could even see the corrected answer scripts of their children.

Various other platforms like the Google Meet or Zoom were utilized for a plethora of purposes – like constant remote coordination between the staff members or organizing regular Virtual PTMs. WhatsApp was used extensively for forming various purpose-based groups, and this allowed for constant flow and sharing of information.

ITM Global even extended the facility of Digital Library to its students, wherein the students had the access to all the digital books and reference books. Not only this, Virtual Science Labs were introduced for the students for the smooth conduction of the practical sessions. The various events of the Academic Year were shifted to the Facebook Live platform and conducted through the StreamYard studio.

The pandemic presented an unprecedented condition for which the School had to prepare itself: in terms of infrastructure and SOPs. Strict Covid-19 Protocols were put into place and sincerely adhered to. Simultaneously, vaccination of staff members were followed up, and that resulted in 100% vaccination of all staff members in the campus.

Now that life is gradually returning to normal and the students are returning to the School, as per the Government directives, one can witness an amalgamation of two environments – high-tech digital learning and traditional face-to-face learning. Blended Learning will henceforth be entrenched in the curriculum of ITM Global, as part of the post-Covid development. At ITM Global, there has always been something for every learner – be it those who learn better in a structured environment comprising face-to-face learning with an educator, the independent learners, or those who prefer to learn online using digital tools and technology. The New Normal has accelerated the push towards being prepared for the uncertain, being independent and accepting the pervasive presence of the digital interface and the AI in our lives.

John Dewey, once said, “Children are not to be confined by our own learning as they are born in a different time. If we teach today’s children as we taught yesterday, we rob them of their tomorrow.” So, at the ITM Global School, the students are being equipped with knowledge, skills and values which prepare them to be independent in accessing the needs of the time, the challenges they possess, and the integrity with which one should face the situation and seek resolution. Within the set-up of the New Normal, the School has continuously endeavoured to educate and prepare them for life – so that they learn how to balance their Intelligence Quotient with their Emotional Quotient, or their Social Quotient with their Adversity Quotient.

Captain Amarinder Singh meets Amit Shah; farm laws discussed

The India Saga Saga |

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, on Wednesday, late in the evening, met Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister at his official residence. The meeting lasted for more than an hour with farm laws being the focus of the discussion.

Congress strongman Captain Amarinder Singh, who is now being sidelined in the party and was made to resign as the CM of Punjab, met Amit Shah. The meeting, on Wednesday, came as no surprise as there was already speculation that Captain had arrived in Delhi to meet the top brass of BJP. The meeting took place at 6A, Krishna Menon Marg, New Delhi, the official government residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

According to Captain himself, the farm laws were briefly discussed in the meeting and former Punjab CM requested Amit Shah to repeal the three farm bills and provide a solution to the farmer’s protest that has been going on for about 10 months. Amarinder took to Twitter and wrote, “Met Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji in Delhi. Discussed the prolonged farmer’s agitation against #FarmLaws & urged him to resolve the crisis urgently with the repeal of the laws & guarantee MSP, besides supporting Punjab in crop diversification. #NoFarmersNoFood.”

The meeting also comes at a time when Captain has been aggressive in his attack on the Congress party and Navjot Singh Sidhu in particular. He is rumored to join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) anytime soon. As per few media persons present outside Shah’s residence, Singh didn’t leave in his convoy after the meeting but instead stayed at Shah’s home a few more hours. Some even said that he had gone to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg along with Shah. Rumors are rife that Captain has been offered the berth of the Union Agriculture Minister if he wishes to join the Saffron party.

With this meeting, Amarinder Singh has also given a hint to the Gandhis that all his options are open and he might switch camps. Senior Congress Leader, Kapil Sibal, indirectly targeted the Congress High Command by saying that those leaders who were close to ‘them’ have left the party while ‘we,’ who are not considered close to them are still standing by ‘them.’ He even went to say that we know who is making the decision but we still don’t know who are calling the shots. Congress Lok Sabha MP, Manish Tewari also said that Punjab is a border state and this type of sad affair only makes Pakistan happy and that this infighting could have been handled gracefully.

With Punjab going to the Elections in about a few months and Congress imploding, AAP and BJP are likely to gain from this infighting. Captain’s next move is yet to be seen but one thing is sure, there will be a lot of political drama in the upcoming days.

The City of Hanoi, Vietnam’s Capital, Will Begin Lifting To Boost Business, Covid Curbs

The India Saga Saga |

After four months of measures aimed at slowing a spiraling fatality rate, officials in Vietnam’s commercial capital Ho Chi Minh City will start loosening its coronavirus curbs seeing the new cases on the decline and the majority of its adult population partially vaccinated officials said on Thursday, permitting greater business and social activities.

Policies will aim to boost the economy and restore some normalcy while coexisting with the virus, which has wreaked havoc on the country in recent months, with total deaths rising from 36 in mid-May to over 19,098 as of Wednesday.

“All checkpoints on the streets will be lifted and no travel permits will be needed after today,” Le Hoa Binh, deputy chairman of the city’s people’s committee, told a news conference.

“We are gradually opening but put our resident’s safety first.”

The city of 9 million people has been hit hard by Vietnam’s Coronavirus outbreak, accounting for 80% of the country’s fatalities and half of the country’s almost 780,000 infections.

The capital of Hanoi, on the other hand, has been mostly unaffected.

Industrial parks, construction projects, malls, barbershops, hospitality facilities, and take-out restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City will be able to reopen on October 1, according to Binh. Many factories in the country’s industrial belt have had to close due to movement restrictions, prompting concerns from certain international trade groups that continued restrictions could drive them to migrate their operations to other nations.

“We foresee a huge shortage of labour force at manufacturing factories and construction when the city reopens,” Binh added.

“There are many chances for the unemployed to find new jobs and start over.”

Authorities are attempting to speed up vaccination, focusing on workers and adults over the age of 50. Approximately one-third of the city’s citizens have received all of their vaccinations.

How blogging changed the life of a middle-class boy from Bihar?

The India Saga Saga |

The world has changed a lot in the last 10 years. The reach of the internet to the masses has changed the life of many Young talented people of India.

We have seen hundreds of new rising stars from small villages and cities of India showing their skills to the world.

But at the same time, it’s not for all. We have seen hundreds of people becoming famous on social media that has changed their life, while there are others, who failed to create their own path.

Today, we have a story of a boy from Bihar who is now an inspiration to thousands of bloggers worldwide.

Keshav Krishnan was born in the small village of Darbhanga, also know as Mithilanchal.

It was not easy for him to achieve something in the Online world. In Bihar, most of the parents want their children to be in a Govt. job and that’s why we see most of the UPSC achievers are from Bihar.

Like other parents, his parents also wanted him to be in a good position in govt. job. But, he was made to be different.

His life changed when he failed for the first time in his life in the 12th Board Exams. At that time, he was certain that he would never go for Engineering or for a Govt. jobs rather he would do something different in his life. A failure could not stop him from achieving what he deserves.

Keshav’s Blogging Journey

Since he come from a lower-middle-class family, he had to take care of his living in Delhi after graduation. He was doing some part-time jobs and even giving tuition.

The part-time job that he was doing was for SEO, however, at times he was just told to do blog commenting and forum postings.

He was a bit skeptical about this job and wanted to know how these comments and postings are generating money for others. He started learning new things on YouTube and stumbled upon a Video where it was shown that how a person is earning thousands of dollars working online.

This Video changed his life. He started to watch more videos around the blogging topics and also started researching about it.

Finally, he registered a domain and started his own website. He says that the first website he started was a big failure.

But still, he was passionate to learn more, and then he studied all the Google Algorithms and the 200 pages of Google ranking factors that Google published at that time.

He started a new website and this time he did almost the same things that Google generally asked to do in their 200 pages guide.

He did no back-linking but still, his website started getting traffic in a span of 5 months. Finally, after few more months, he started earning around $500/month, and later in a span of 24 months, he was earning around $3000.

He started with few other websites and most of them were successful. He sold some of them and kept building new Niche Sites. Today, he has a portfolio of websites generating more than 50 lakhs annually.

Keshav’s advice to Beginners?

If you want to earn money through blogging, do proper keyword research and always write content about what people want to know.

Don’t write content on what you want to share with the world.

Use the ALPHABET SOUP method and find out the topics that people are searching.

Use tools like Answerthepublic, Surfer SEO, etc for finding new topics around your niche.

Never try to compete on the topics having thousand of search volume, start will low volume keywords and slowly move towards high volume.

If you follow all these things, you would never regret blogging.

Know how I sold my last website for $65,000.
