Sidhu resigns as PPCC Chief; Captain Amarinder Singh in Delhi

The India Saga Saga |

Tuesday was a high voltage day for the Congress party as a series of events took place. The day started with the news break of Navjot Singh Sidhu suddenly resigning from the post of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Chief in the afternoon. He announced this decision on Twitter by attaching the resignation letter which he wrote to Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. This was followed by another tweet from the former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh targeting Sidhu. Captain, taking a dig at Sidhu, tweeted, “I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of Punjab.”

Soon the news of Captain leaving for New Delhi from Chandigarh airport started to emerge. It was speculated that he is going to Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda and a possible switchover for the Captain is on the cards. However, this speculation was brushed off by Amarinder Singh’s Media Advisor Raveen Thukral. Taking to Twitter, Thukral wrote, “Too much being read into Captain Amarinder’s visit to Delhi. He’s on a personal visit, during which he’ll meet some friends and also vacate Kapurthala house for the new CM. No need for any unnecessary speculation.”

The infighting in the grand old party doesn’t seem to get over anytime soon. With Sidhu’s sudden resignation, the Congress, particularly the Gandhi duo (Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi) are in trouble again. It was Rahul and Priyanka who promoted Sidhu to the post of PPCC chief and chose to sideline Veteran Captain Amarinder Singh. The reason for Sidhu’s resignation is still unclear but if reports are to be believed, he is unhappy with the Cabinet rejig that took place a few days ago. What is surprising is that Charanjit Singh Channi, the new Punjab CM who was seen continuously escorted by Sidhu was unaware of the resignation.

Following Sidhu’s decision, there were few others from the Punjab Congress unit that followed him. The first person to resign in solidarity with Sidhu was Razia Sultana who was recently sworn in as a Cabinet Minister. She said, “Sidhu Sahab is a man of principles. He is fighting for Punjab and Punjabiyat.” As per sources, Congress High Command, till now, has not accepted Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation. Punjab Ministers Pargat Singh and Amrinder Singh Raja Warring met Sidhu and requested him to withdraw his decision.

Captain, who is speculated to meet the top brass of BJP had further said that Sidhu is an unstable man and can join any other political party before the Punjab Elections.

Post Sidhu’s resignation,AAP called congress ‘Indian National Circus’

The India Saga Saga |

Following his surprise resignation as Punjab Congress chairman, Navjot Singh Sidhu remained the top trending topic on Twitter on Tuesday. On his Twitter account, the cricketer-turned-politician announced his resignation and declared that he will continue in the Congress. Even as social media users created one-liners and memes to show their surprise at the news, many criticized the Congress leadership.

Former Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha said “someone in Delhi has to be saked” for the party’s Punjab unit’s chaotic occurrences.

The Congress said to BJP spokesperson Gaurav Goel, is now a party “without a leader.” Punjab’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAM) claims that the Indian National Congress has devolved into an “Indian National Circus.”

Hundreds of memes circulated online as well. People joked that Mr. Sidhu will return to ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and reclaim his role. They also shared Archana Puran Singh, an actor, and TV personality, as well as memes depicting her amusing reaction to the news.

Mr. Sidhu, 57, announced his resignation shortly after the new ministers in Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s cabinet were assigned ministries. He was named the party’s state unit president on July 18 during a fierce power struggle with Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, who resigned 10 days ago after accusing the party’s high command of humiliating him.

Canada’s decision on Huawei within few weeks, says PM Justin Trudeau

The India Saga Saga |

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday that Canada will decide in the next weeks whether or not to allow Huawei into the country’s next-generation 5G wireless networks, and that major telecommunications companies have already begun to remove Huawei from their networks.

As phone carriers prepare to roll out fifth-generation technology, which is designed to support a large expansion of networks to facilitate medical gadgets, self-driving cars, and other uses, Canada and its security agencies have been weighing whether to utilize Huawei equipment.

Two of Canada’s three major telecom carriers have already stated that they will not be using Huawei for their 5G networks. Bell Canada has chosen Ericsson of Sweden as its provider, while Telus Corp. has chosen Ericsson and Nokia. Ericsson and Rogers have a long-standing relationship.

Mr. Trudeau said at a news conference, “We have actually seen that many Canadian telecommunications companies, if not all of them, have started to remove Huawei from their networks and are moving forward in ways that don’t involve them as a company”.

“We continue to weigh and look at the different options. We will no doubt be making announcements in the coming weeks.” The Canadian government is studying the use of Huawei as Canada and China are coming off a dispute that Canada’s foreign minister has said the country will never forget.

Pataa – the app Solving India’s address troubles one pataa at a time

The India Saga Saga |

With over 5 million Indian users, Pataa app has helped navigate multiple people to their exact destination with its unique short code, voice directions, property photos and multiple address sharing features.

The Pataa app has been designed keeping the Indian addressing dilemmas in mind, which cost the country a massive loss of almost Rs.75000 crores annually as per a study. The highest cost incurred by delivery companies has been in last few kilometers cost, which usually amounts to 30% of the total. Parcels are sent to and fro because pin codes are inaccurately written, and each pin code covers a vast expanse of almost 82 square kilometers. Looking at the prevailing e-commerce delivery situation. The delivery guy faces a well-known challenge to reach the correct location without referencing a landmark or multiple calls to the sender or receiver. The Pataa app implements the solution to all these dilemmas. It allows users to convert their long and complex addresses into a unique short code that can be shared easily with visitors and delivery personnel.

The Pataa app has evolved to share and direct people to our addresses. Features such as complete address, landmark markings, voice directions, property photos help the visitor to reach the correct building, and additional instructions can help anyone get to your house or workplace. Thus, avoid the extra time and trouble of sharing all the details whenever you need someone to reach your place.

How Does Pataa Work?

Using the Pataa App, you can generate a short code by dropping a pin on the same 3-meter block of your building or house entrance and then enter your complete address details. Extensions can be created for the people who use the same Pataa. Inactive or closed routes can be disabled, and you can also track visitors in real-time through the app. The best part is that your short code remains the same, no matter how many times you change the details of your house, locality or city.

India is filled with roads that have been renamed multiple times and have tiny lanes, making it difficult for someone to precisely locate an address, even if they use an app to help them with the directions. Since the address is distinct and digital with Pataa, people will no longer find themselves lost at the wrong end of a one-way street or confused at a dead end.

The Pataa app has helped them save fuel costs and better use their time by preventing the logistics and delivery companies from driving around in circles. In addition, with the increasing number of Pataa users, unnecessary phone calls by the delivery agents have been drastically reduced. This has produced more significant profits for logistics companies.

Pataa For Vaccination Centres

One of the biggest pandemic-specific offerings that Pataa has introduced recently is the Co-Win button. All COVID-19 vaccination centres of the major cities of India, have been listed city wise under this feature in the App. When the user clicks on the Co-Win button and enters the city’s name, he gets the name, location, nearest landmark, routes and photos of the vaccination centre. This endeavor has been a great help for people who were finding it difficult to locate these centres and sometimes had to travel as far as 20 – 22 km but return without a jab because their time slot had elapsed. This sincere effort has been more than well received by people all over the country. 1 million Indians have hit the Co-Win button in the app, to find out the address details of Covid vaccination centers. Pataa believes in constant updation and keeping up with the times. Pataa also aims to reduce the carbon footprint with lesser commute, as people reach directly to their precise location. As new issues emerge, Pataa promises to keep coming up with new solutions to enrich client experience and making this world a better place to live in.

The Pataa app is a blessing for people living in distant locations, especially during an urgency. People can share their digital addresses with the ambulance, fire brigade and police to save precious lives. Moreover, Govt. apps can be integrated with Pataa, and schemes can be implemented more efficiently if every urban and rural Indian has a digital address.

Pataa app is supporting everyone who needs to reach the correct destination in a limited time. It also aims to enhance people’s work and personal lives, one digital pataa at a time.

North Korea launches missiles in the sea for testing

The India Saga Saga |

North Korea launched a short-range missile into the sea on September 28th, according to its neighbors, in the latest of North Korea’s weapons tests, raising doubts about the sincerity of its recent offer for negotiations with South Korea.

The South Korean administration voiced regret over what it called the North’s “short-range missile launch” in an emergency National Security Council meeting. The object shot from North Korea’s mountainous northern Jagang province flew toward the waters of the North’s eastern coast, according to the South Korean military.

The launch, according to the US Indo-Pacific Command, poses no imminent threat to US personnel or territory, as well as our partners. The missile launch, however, said, “highlights the destabilizing impact of [North Korea’s] illicit weapons program,” and that the US commitment to South Korea and Japan’s defense “remains unshakable.”

Authorities in South Korea and the United States were looking into the details of the launch. North Korea, on the other hand, fired “what could be a ballistic missile,” according to Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, who stated his country increased its vigilance and surveillance.

A ballistic missile launch would violate a United Nations Security Council embargo on North Korean ballistic activity, but the council seldom imposes new penalties on the country for short-range missile launches.

North Korea conducted its first ballistic and cruise missile tests six months earlier this month, demonstrating its potential to attack targets in South Korea and Japan, two critical US allies where 80,000 American soldiers are stationed.

However, Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, reached out to Seoul on September 24 and 25, stating her country was willing to resume negotiations and take measures toward reconciliation if certain criteria were satisfied. According to some experts, North Korea wants South Korea to help it get respite from US-led sanctions.

South Korea has praised her statement as “important,” but has urged North Korea to reopen lines of contact before any discussions between the two countries can take place.

Jignesh Mevani & Student Leader Kanhaiya Kumar to join Congress today at AICC HQs

The India Saga Saga |

As per Jignesh Mevani, an Independent MLA from Gujarat, both Mevani and his close friend Kanhaiya Kumar are set to join the grand old Congress party today at the All India Congress Committee headquarters in New Delhi at 03:00 pm.

Last Saturday, Dalit leader and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani told media persons that he and CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar will be joining Congress on September 28 on the occasion of Bhagat Singh Jayanti. As per reports, the Congress party is keen to put up a grand show as both the young leaders are coming to its fold. Posters, in the early morning, have been put up outside the Congress office ahead of their joining. They both are set to join Congress at 3 pm today in the presence of Rahul Gandhi.

Jignesh Mevani had been open about his new endeavor while Kanhaiya Kumar so far had maintained silence on his joining. If reports are to be believed, Kanhaiya has not been on good terms with his party-CPI in recent times. An internal split within the CPI over Kanhaiya’s promotion is said to have triggered him and prompted him to switch camps. As per media reports, CPI general secretary D Raja had earlier asked the student leader to address a presser on 21st September to refute the speculation of him joining the Congress. However, Kumar didn’t turn up at the press conference. Kanhaiya had joined the Communist Party of India (CPI) ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election. He was a CPI candidate from the Begusarai constituency in Bihar and was defeated by Giriraj Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

When asked about the speculation about Kumar joining Congress, Raja said, “Let us see.”

A section of CPI leaders from Bihar, on September 26, met Kumar and tried to persuade him to change his mind however Kanhaiya had told them that he should be made the state party chief and the chairman of the party’s top election committee that decides the selection of candidates for elections.

Earlier, Hardik Patel, a young leader and close friend of both Mevani and Kumar, also joined Congress. Patel rose to fame through the Patidar Agitation.

These two young leaders are supposed to provide fresh and new energy to the grand old party which is desperately in need of some sort of revival before the 2024 general elections.
