UNICEF Survey : 77 Million children depleted out of class for 18 months

The India Saga Saga |

Recently the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) conducted a survey regarding the impact of Covid-19 on the lives of school-going children which showed nearly 77 million children have been shut out of classrooms for the past 18 months. Unicer called out the situation as an ”Educational Crisis”.

The agency also made a statement that it will be closing down its social media channels for the next 18 hours to send one message to the world: #ReopenSchools for in-person learning as soon as possible, UN News reported.

“117 million students, representing 7,5% of the total student population, are still affected by complete school closures in 18 countries. The number of countries with partly open schools has declined from 52 to 41 over the same period. Schools have remained closed for a total period of 18 months in five countries, accounting for 77 million students,” UNICEF said in a statement.

In all countries having experienced prolonged full school closures, education was provided through a combination of online classes, printed modules, as well as TV and radio lessons.

“For UNICEF, the right to go to school is central to every child’s development, safety, and well-being. Yet in too many countries, classrooms remain closed while social gatherings continue to take place in restaurants, salons, and gyms,” the UN agency said. It further added that “this generation of children and youth, cannot afford any more disruptions to their education.”

New numbers from UNESCO, released this Thursday, show that schools are now fully open in 117 countries, with 539 million students back in classrooms, ranging from pre-primary to secondary levels.

This represents 35 percent of the total student population across the world, compared to 16 percent who returned to school in September 2020, when schools were only open, or partially open, in 94 countries.

UNESCO and its other partners have been advocating for the safe reopening of schools, urging full closures to be used as a measure of last resort. The agency said the past two academic years have resulted in learning losses and an increased dropout rate.

Latest AI Technology helping in treating the Covid-patients

The India Saga Saga |

A bunch of international researchers have developed an artificial intelligence tool that will help in detecting the amount of oxygen a Covid-19 patient might need during hospital surveillance. In order to check the credibility of the AI tool, researchers come in the way and survey the necessary Artificial Intelligence device in a number of hospitals across five continents.

Journal Nature Medicine on Thursday analysed the outcomes of nearly about 10,000 Covid-19  patients. Further an algorithm has been used to examine chest X-rays  and electronic health data of hospital patients showing covid-19 symptoms. Researchers named this technique as ‘federated learning’. The reports suggested that the oxygen needed within  24 hours of a patient’s arrival in an emergency ward constitutes 95% sensitivity and over 88% specificity.

“Federated learning has transformative power to bring AI innovation to the clinical workflow,” said Professor Fiona Gilbert, from the University of Cambridge in the UK, who led the study.

“Usually in AI development, when you create an algorithm on one hospital’s data, it doesn’t work well at any other hospital,” said study first author Ittai Dayan, from Mass General Bingham in the US.

The multimodal data assisted the researchers to construct a generalisable model which will further become the support system of frontline physicians operating globally. The whole system was made ready within the timeline of ‘“ weeks” to achieve high quality predictions. North & south America, Europe and Asia were the prime countries where collaborators were brought down to produce effective results and efficient techniques.

“Federated Learning allowed researchers to collaborate and set a new standard for what we can do globally, using the power of AI,” said Mona G Flores, Global Head for Medical AI at healthcare technology company NVIDIA

“This will advance AI not just for healthcare but across all industries looking to build robust models without sacrificing privacy,” Ms. Flores said.

Robert Kiyosaki, Blair Singer, Swami Sukhabodhananda share their pearls of wisdom at Success Gyan’s Super Growth Summit

The India Saga Saga |

Proving to be a series of transformational sessions on life, leadership, and business, Success Gyan’s 4th Super Growth Summit online recently witnessed training sessions from a line-up of world-class coaches and thought leaders in their respective fields. The speaker line-up, headlined by ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ author Robert Kiyosaki, also saw Indian monk and corporate guru Swami Sukhabodhananda, along with ‘master of the masters’ speaker and trainer Blair Singer share their wisdom and techniques developed over several decades.

The two world-renowned speakers were joined by 12 more world-class trainers who touch millions of lives and help with holistic growth and transformation in the fields of career, business, leadership, health, lifestyle, and productivity. The first three Super Growth Summits conducted were attended by almost 30,000 people.

Speaking at the fourth Super Growth Summit, speaker and bestselling author Blair Singer said: “Covid-19 revealed cracks in the very foundation of the things we thought to be solid, sacred and we could bet our lives on – such as healthcare, financial systems, and education. Think of it as two curves. The curve of technology is going up steeply, which means we can do more with less. But the second curve, the confidence curve of people, is going down. Covid happened at the intersection of these curves, and has brought the future to the right now.”

Singer, who has scaled Mount Kilimanjaro 10 times now, looks at the ascent and descent as a journey with challenges but one that teaches you life skills.

“A revolution in education is going to take education out of school and bring it home. If you learn from the best trainers in the world, you must give it back and teach. Education is about four elements, but school mostly focuses on the mental element, which is your ability to memorize and regurgitate information. We’re also emotional, physical, and mental beings. School misses this holographic image. Alcoholism and substance abuse is increasing day by day, and mental health has been plummeting since last year. This is an opportunity for trainers and future trainers.”

He also stressed upon knowledge being based on empathy, and not opinion.

On the other hand, Swami Sukhabodhananda, an Indian spiritual master who blends the ancient Vedic wisdom and knowledge of various world philosophies with modern thoughts to provide tools to grow in life talked about success and failure, how to explore new shores, evolve new paradigms, and survive new challenges in this changing world without losing balance.

“Can you be a giver in all aspects of your life, instead of a beggar, is a question I ask. If success happens in your life, now you should ‘give’ celebration and rejoice in your success. Many millionaires are rich but they are not feeling rich, because they don’t have a celebratory attitude. Everyone faces failure, but instead of being a victim of failure if you can learn from it. Success is not defined by what others tell you to be successful. It is getting what you like.

“Success is not the be-all and end-all of life. Your brain has to learn satisfaction. So, getting what you like and liking what you get, when there is a synthesis between these, a dimension called fulfillment happens.”

Surendran J, Founder & CEO, Success Gyan says: “Success Gyan aims to create an ecosystem of world-class teachers and trainers. We want India to be the training capital of the world. Start your learning journeys with us, and your life will never be the same again.”

The event also featured Siddharth Rajsekar, India’s leading info-marketing expert; Rajiv Talreja, the country’s top business coach; Prachi Mayekar, an inspiring transformational coach; Sawan Kapoor, career coach; Puja Puneet, life designer and the founder and CEO of Life by Design; Thaddeus Lawrence, trainer, author, and founder of Runaway Success Learning Practice; Dr. MV Priyank, abundance and wellness coach; and Meghana Dikshit, brain coach and founder of De Mantraa.

Govind Bhadu who is been motivating youths by his seminars and videos

The India Saga Saga |

We have seen a hero in stories, but in real life, there is little faith in the words of such a hero. Such incidents either seem like fiction, or we just make fun of them. The second aspect is also that those who believe in these things and move forward on the path of struggle. Govind Badu works to spread these thoughts and messages among the youth. After traversing a struggling path, Govind has tasted success. In today’s competitive times, Govind Bhadu inspires thousands of youth through his words. When we get tired and become pessimistic, people like Govind help us and show us the way.

Govind Bhadu says that as he had to cover such a distance due to paucity of resources, he had to remain in dilemma countless times due to lack of experience. It is said that in such times, even his close ones do not support, Govind has also faced these problems in life. He knows very well how difficult it is to persevere in times of struggle. Mr. Bhadu says, “When the hopes start running out, the end of the path may not be seen but still the spirits are high. When such a situation strikes inside you, then you should understand that now you are about to step on the ladder of success. To say that many people support us during this time, encourage them. But unless we ourselves are motivated for it, all the motivation is useless.”

The question is, how will this motivation be awakened? Govind Bhadu says that we hear the story of someone who has faced the same challenges as us and has been able to achieve his objective today, the words of these people give courage to those people. India is a country of youth. In such a situation, it is most important to give direction to the youth here. When every individual achieves his set goal, then the country will automatically reach the pinnacle of success. A book with a key to success does not work in this. We hear that we are influenced by these stories written in books but if we support them through direct listening and discussions, then they become more connected. That’s what affects them the most

Deputy PM of Tablian-ruled Afghanistan named among 100 most influential people

The India Saga Saga |

The deputy Prime Minister in Taliban conquered Afghanistan has been named among the 100 most influential people of 2021 by Time Magazine. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is also considered the Top figure in the Doha deal.

He supervised the Taliban in negotiations with the US during the peace deal. Baradar is considered to be a quiet, secretive man who rarely gives public statements. He represents a more moderate current within the Taliban.
In February 2020, when the US Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad officially signed the peace deal in Doha, Baradar was the chief face of the Taliban.

Recently, as the Taliban gained power in Afghanistan, it was on the terms Baradar negotiated. He was said to be making all the major decisions, including the amnesty offered to members of the former regime, the lack of bloodshed when the Taliban entered Kabul and the regime’s contacts and visits with neighboring states, especially China and Pakistan, Time magazine said.

However, despite being the co-founder of the Taliban and having played a top role in negotiations with the US, it’s believed that Baradar has been given a relatively lower position in the caretaker government.

The India Saga Saga |

The unstable economic condition in both national and global markets has been keeping the industries under constant pressure for a long time now. It has always been hard for the business units to maintain a balance between cost-effectively and production efficiency. This makes the importance of adhering to a strict compliance policy even greater. The units need to utilize every bit of their time and resources to remain profitable. Workforce management software helps the organization to meet their demands of digitization and increases the production efficiency. From productivity to safety to compliance, TimeKompas takes care of all the factors to streamline daily working operations.

TimeKompas is an AI-based workforce management app that helps the organizations all the business insights it requires to sustain productivity. Founded by Amit, Abhishek, and Akansh, the App performs a wide range of activities within the broader spectrum of Human Resource, Sales & Customer Relations and Project Management like attendance, payroll, staff scheduling, employee performance management, and compliance.

Using a unique feature like selfie attendance, the app has made the employee attendance system more convenient than the traditional biometric attendance system. Especially in a time when work from home has become a part of the normal job description, TimeKompas makes sure that the employees can mark their attendance from home or assigned working location. It also helps to identify attendance patterns so that the companies can effectively manage all the leaves both planned and unplanned. Utilizing this data, management can enhance their payroll accuracy and improve absentee issues.

With advanced geo-tag, TimeKompas tracks the employee movements and ensures all your resources are doing their jobs. A better understanding of employee engagement enables businesses to ensure employee productivity. This WFM app also digitally manages leaves, holidays, PTO, and schedule conflicts using tools like automation and data analytics. It allows the owners to configure the rules for the workers. By automating a major portion of compliance monitoring with PMS, it helps the units function optimally without wasting precious time. The PMS feature keeps track all ongoing, pending and completed tasks. You can actually create project, maintain record of project and also assign task to the employee who should work in that project, unlike maintaining paper records or Excel spreadsheet records.

These features are especially beneficial for companies having scattered locations. Agrees Monica Gaikwad, HR Head at ISC Projects Ltd. which has over 3000 employees at 50+ sites:

“After switching to TimeKompas, we were able to effectively monitor our teams at all the remote sites. This has not just saved our project management efforts & cost, but we have seen a remarkable improvement in our project completion, owing to better clarity among employees regarding assigned tasks & timelines.”

The CRM module of TimeKompas keeps a tab on all the sales activities and customer interactions at one place, straight from your mobile phone. It makes the entire monitoring and follow-up process easier as one can set reminders for targets and follow-ups. With advanced sales module you can manage quotes, orders, delivery and payments.

TimeKompas secures the company data with its 7 layers of security. When companies are constantly facing the threat of data theft, this new-age WFM software keeps every valuable data completely safe in its server and allows you to access them from both app and website. What makes it more desirable is the fact that it does not cost a fortune to incorporate this software into the company’s existing IT infrastructure. So, it can fit the budget of every small and big scale enterprise.

Its cutting-edge features, cost-effectiveness, and advanced security have already earned the WFM app more than 3000 clients including TATA Projects and few Government departments. TimeKompas currently caters to business at Pan India Level (from Jammu Kashmir to Kerala, Tripura to Gujarat).
