The India Saga Saga |

“Indians should take a pledge of freedom from diseases through Ayurveda this Independence Day”, Famous Ayurveda & nature cure expert Guru Manish.”

Chandigarh, August 15, 2021: As the nation is all set to celebrate its 75th Independence Day on 15th August – renowned Ayurveda & nature expert – Guru Manish, has called upon all Indians to take a ‘unique’ pledge to coincide with India’s freedom from the oppressive British rule. This Independence day he has made a case for adopting India’s time-tested herb-based medicinal system ‘Ayurveda’ to usher in a new kind of freedom – ‘a freedom from diseases’.

While underlining the importance of Ayurveda, Guru Manish, founder of Shuddhi Ayurveda & the ‘Right to health campaign’ said, “Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine. Apart from providing various therapeutic cures for diseases, it even emphasizes on maintenance, promotion of health & prevention of diseases through diet and lifestyle regimens.”

Guru Manish added, “Due to modern unhealthy lifestyle many health problems like a metabolic disease, obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, etc. were engulfing Indians, particularly young Indians. A large number of people in the country are suffering from these ailments. In such a landscape, it becomes imperative to reiterate faith in Ayurveda by adopting Ayurveda and Yoga to get rid of these health problems, and there couldn’t be a better day to take a pledge for freedom from diseases than Independence Day.” Guru Manish explained.

“I want to see a healthy India. This Independence Day all Indians should take a vow to adopt Ayurveda to make the country free from health-related issues including COVID 19. I want all people to employ tenets of Ayurveda in everyday life as it is the science of life ‘ayus’, meaning ‘life’ and ‘Veda, meaning science, ” Guru Manish further said.

We all are aware that COVID has become a huge challenge for clinical science and the general public too. What’s more, there is an alarming increase in the number of malignant growth and hypertensive patients. Moreover, the diabetes rate in India is expanding quickly; around 30 million individuals are living with diabetes in India while roughly, 25% of the Indian families have heart patients.

Guru Manish summed up, “The statistics should make Indians even more determined this Independence Day, to adopt healthy practices and use Ayurveda and ‘nature cure’ to develop immunity so that disease doesn’t inflict one in the first place. This however needs to be done by consulting a qualified Ayurveda practitioner and expert.” Opt for the Ayurveda way of life to attain freedom from diseases.

IT Expert Rahul Rathi, Transforms Lives in Tinwari Village, Rajasthan

The India Saga Saga |

Prior to the pandemic, India has made a gradual transition to digital instruments. After demonetization, the education sector began to use elements of online education, the health sector began to investigate telemedicine and IVR systems, financial institutions began to use online banking, local stores began to accept cashless transactions, and instant messaging and social media platforms had already become popular avenues for mass messaging.

However, it is clear that the vast majority of Indian citizens lack digital literacy, and for those that do, online safety is a bizarre concept. Language and accessibility difficulties, as well as a lack of data and infrastructure, exacerbate the situation. Social obstacles and systemic inequity play a crucial role in this – even today, people in rural India own far fewer smartphones than people living in cities.

Rahul Rathi, a 19-year-old boy from a tiny village in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district, has outperformed his IT expertise to serve humanity. He’s become a digital resource for the thousands of people surrounding him, as well as officials from several government departments in his home area, to help them navigate the ever-evolving digital ecosystem of e-governance.

He assists all government schools in his neighborhood in maintaining and managing Shala Darpan, a dynamic database management platform that keeps information about all government schools and education offices online and updated on a regular basis. Furthermore, he provides free assistance to rural school students in filling out registration forms for board examinations.

Rahul Rathi says, “After discovering that the dropout rate in government schools is significantly higher than the enrolment rate, I frequently travel to villages throughout Rajasthan to educate and encourage parents and kids about the importance of education. I assist them with the board exam registration procedure and provide all digital assistance, which is still a foreign idea to many of them.”

Even during the Corona pandemic, Rahul devoted his courage and virtue to the service of humanity by assisting thousands of poor people in self-registering at the Co-Win portal and assisting them in securing access to hospitals.

“I’ve seen individuals, particularly villages, struggle in the digital space, with little or no knowledge of smartphones, government portals, and so on… I’m only 19 years old, but I have competence with IT solutions, so I figured I could assist them in navigating the online world’s complexities. During the pandemic, I helped thousands of villagers. It wasn’t a miracle, but while helping them in saving their lives through the digital media, I realized that with my set of skills, I can assist millions of individuals who still lack digital literacy.” He adds.

Furthermore, Rahul has access to a Facebook-approved portal through which he may resolve any social media-related issues such as account hacking, data piracy, or any other legal issue that may harm users. He offers free social media services to the general public as well as several well-known politicians of Rajasthan.

Furthermore, Rahul is a web designer and app developer who has designed multiple websites for various social organizations. To make ends meet, Rahul works as an IT professional for a number of prominent politicians and also serves as their political advisor.

Communities in rural places frequently require young people like Rahul Rathi to deploy and supplement digital tools for good because digital services are not universally disseminated.

Venu M Chennupati, KR Satish: When the Common Man Emerges To Be a COVID Warrior

The India Saga Saga |

The COVID-19 pandemic showed everyone’s true colours. Many who were supposed to be the helpers of the society and had promised their lifelong dedication to the nation were nowhere to be found when the second wave raged on. But amidst all the rubble lie countless stories of the commoner doing his best and beyond to fight COVID. To save not only himself or his family, but all of us. Ordinary citizens gave extraordinary efforts, and now that things have calmed down a little, we can acknowledge their stories and struggles.

Venu Madhav Chennupati, an epidemiologist, runs a Healthcare IT firm in Hyderabad and KR Satish, a social activist, is the founder of Brilliant School in Hyderabad.

When the second wave of COVID-19 was raging across the country, Chennupati and Satish joined hands to drive forward the conversation about vaccines. They brought to light the vaccine shortage and the distribution process of the vaccine. And discussed at length how vaccinations should be prioritised by exposure and not by age groups.

Chennupati trained at Harvard University to become an epidemiologist. Through his analysis of the pandemic in the country, he deduced that the population-based distribution of vaccines was not an effective strategy in controlling the spread of COVID-19.

The R0 ( pronounced “R Naught”) is the reproduction number and is a mathematical term that indicates how contagious a disease is. The expected number of cases is directly generated by one case in a population where all individuals are susceptible to infection.

In Telangana, the R0 jumped from 1.47 on April 29 to 1.55 on May 1.

Chennupati suggested in one of his writings that to tackle the spread of coronavirus and bring the R0 down,  the government needs to implement a new model. Due to the economic slowdown, state governments were hesitant about a lockdown; hence according to Chennupati’s expertise, he suggests that the Indian governments should vaccinate the front-line economy workers first and control the spread instead of vaccinating by age demographics.

On the other hand, KR Satish’s years of experience as a social activist gave him great insight into grassroots problems.

Satish quickly grasped the practical problems posed by the vaccine shortage and coronavirus infection spread rate. He felt that those who deal with customers directly, i.e. delivery persons, bank staff, street vendors, and shop owners, are more susceptible and more likely to contract the coronavirus and spread infection. Not only were they coming in contact with many people daily, but if they fell sick, they could infect many people in a day. Hence, he suggested that the government re-prioritize vaccinations by people with more social exposure, not by age.

Chennupati and Satish undertook steps to reach the Ministry of health at the Union and state levels, but their concerns were left unheard.

After their communication efforts returned fruitlessly, they filed a first-of-its-kind petition demanding vaccinations for frontline economic workers (PIL in Telangana High court (WP(PIL)SR 16115/2021).

This PIL emphasised the need for vaccinating this demographic so the economy can run smoothly and resistance against the pandemic can be built.

After the petition was filed, the Telangana High court sent notices and summoned the State government for an instant reply. Interestingly, the state government did not answer the Telangana High Court but did implement the model suggested by Chennupati and Satish.

This model helped control the spreading rate of the R0 and made it easier to handle. Telangana is the only state in India where all super spreaders are vaccinated.

The song is more of an emotion. It’s less about me having played a role in creating each and every aspect of the song and more about how every aspect of the song came to me easily for a reason. We go through a lot in life and sometimes some days let you to define that moment as a new inning.

Aishwarya who has been singing from the last 25 years feel her second half of the journey has just begun. “Even though I’ve been singing for 25 years now and my second quarter of the years in singing have begun it’s just going to be just as sunshiny as I want. Maybe it’s a typical one but it’s true, ‘Jab kisi cheez ko puri shiddat se chaho toh saari kaynaat aapki madat karne lagti hai’ you get a new motivation every single day and I think that’s what worked with Prem Rang Maniyaaro. It’s not the first time I’m doing all this, it’s just that I’ve never done all of it at once for a particular song before. So it’s a first of first! I’m glad I have a team that helps me dream and fulfil them. I hope people appreciate the song. It’s simple, straight forward and it connects with all the stages and ages of lives.”
