Wildlife Saver Sarpmitra Akash Jadhav

The India Saga Saga |

Deforestation today has led many wild animals to flee from their natural habitat and refuge into human habitats. The wild animals are unaware of human-made things, snakes usually fall into bore-wells. We regularly hear news about tigers, elephants, and bears attacking humans in search of food and shelter which leads to human casualties and even deaths. Many wildlife rescue teams are helping humans trapped with animals and also the animals in reaching their natural habitat. Wildlife Rescue society is one such registered NGO, who has been rescuing animals in Maharashtra for the last 13 years. I Akash Jadhav, famously known as “Sarpamitra Akash Jadhav” am the owner of this NGO. My love for animals and family circumstances brought me here.

I left my school in 7th class because of my family’s financial issue. Then I met one of my relatives Sunil Bhambal, who used to work for an animal rescue center in Satara, Maharashtra. As a curious child, I was always interested to learn about snakes and wild animals. Initially, my family was hesitant when I  share about my love for animals and my joining the animal rescue team with them. But my father had supported me. So, I went to Satara in 2007, where I learned about rescuing snakes and how to keep them safe. Within a year I came to know about many species of snakes and the rescuing process.

In 2008I returned to my native Nagardev, a small village near Ahmednagar to start a wildlife rescue center. As people here believed in superstitions and performed tantric rituals after snake bites or any animal attacks.People had the belief that snakes can capture and remember a face, also the weirdest I heard is people die within minutes by releasing water from their mouths because of a snake bite. People were unaware of the first aid on snakebites. This concerned me so I started rescuing snakes in my neighborhood, and started saying people how to treat a snake bite and reach the hospital and seek a doctor instead of believing in myths.

After few days I started getting 5-6 calls a day which is when I felt the need for manpower. Wild animals aren’t easy to handle and it was being difficult for me to handle all these alone. Atul Pakhare, Nawaz Shaikh, Rishikesh Jadhav, Shiraj Sayyed, Siddhant Waghchaure, Rishikesh Paredeshi, Aniket Pakhare were people who were trained in snake rescuing and they joined our team and I thank them.

Our team operates from Ahmednagar, and we are a 24*7 open rescue center. Like good days in life, bad days are bound to happen. I faced one such day in 2011, while rescuing a Cobra I was bit by it and was in a coma for around 14 days. Luckily, I survived and continued my work after 2months of rest. Recently, we have started accepting women rescuers in our teams as a part of the women empowerment program. Megha Bhalerav, Neeta Gajare, Rajeshri Alhat, Sheetal kashar are a few female members of our team and we are extremely proud of them.

My team has rescued leopards, foxes, jackals, snakes also birds. While rescuing any wild animal we contact the forest department and together we rescue them. In the case of wild animals, we hand over them to the forest department officials or if they need any basic treatment we bring them to our office treat them, and then release them.

I started a YouTube channel named “Sarpamitra Akash Jadhav” in July 2017. I upload videos of my rescue work, first aid, and basic treatment for snake or animal bites to be done before reaching a doctor. People started following and accepting our work. To date, we have rescued more than 12000 species of wild animals. And I am very proud of my team. I would request you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

You can contact us round the clock for help on +91-9209640006.

Awareness Series On Mental Health By Dr. Shubham Shree Making Youths of Bihar Sensitized

The India Saga Saga |

“There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” – John Green

Mental health is one of the most important aspects of our lives. It determines the kind of thought process one possesses. Some of the subtle human aspects, which are part of mental health, are emotions, instincts, impulses, consciousness, memory, behavior, and so on. Mental health is as important as our physical health and grooming. It can be defined as a state of well-being, in which every individual realizes their own potential, can cope with the normal stress of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and are able to make a contribution to their community.

Illnesses related to mental health commonly are stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, aggression, substance abuse, insomnia, trauma, panic, phobia or overthinking, etc. and these can be managed, with just the right treatment/therapy. Many people feel ashamed about having such issues, but they can always talk it out with their loved ones, or seek help from professionals. Some self-practices can turn out to be positively impactful as well. Things like staying active, eating well, drinking sensibly, self-acceptance, getting involved in creative activities etc.

Dr. Shubham Shree believes that acknowledging own’s emotions can help make changes better. We must give space and time to ourselves, take necessary actions in order to modify behavior, and work towards self-improvement. It’s just not about ourselves, but we must also try to understand others by acknowledging their body language, and emotional literacy, and give them love, assurance, motivation, empathy, being a good listener to them, and so on.As the month of May is observed as mental health awareness month Dr. Shree organized a series of mental health talks and counseling sessions for sensitizing common people about mental health specially in regard to COVID crisis. Her awareness talks on issues like what mental health is all about, how and when to seek help, what are the effects of pandemic on various age groups and sections of people, how to develop resilience and positive mindset, how to help people in the time of grieving and trauma, self-care techniques and relaxation tips etc. And were thoroughly appreciated and liked among the youths.

Ever since the COVID pandemic, there have been several cases of PTSD, among many individuals. Especially due to the loss of their loved ones. The experiences among people watching the cremation of their loved ones, or being admitted in the ICU at hospitals, have led to grieving and stress regarding the same. A lot of medical professionals have been experiencing flashbacks of the condition of the patients at the hospitals, leading them to have anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, grief reactions, nightmares, not feeling like indulging in their daily activities, and so much more. Even the lockdown has impacted several individuals, having being isolated, and not being able to visit their loved ones. We must offer love and compassion to such individuals, and ensure that they don’t stress much. Hope and faith are to very useful resources in these harsh times.

In order to maintain a positive mental health, Dr. Shubham believes that negative experiences can only be healed by creating positive events in life. One must take responsibility, and be courageous enough to accept things, develop resilience and practice gratitude. It’s ultimately in our hands to choose the quality of life we have. We must feed our mind with what we really want, and let the universe run its course. Making mental health a priority is a must.

All of Dr. Shubham Shree’s talk shows are available on her official Facebook page named The Counselor’s Room. She also provides personal consultation through online mode.

Producer Eram Faridi talks on Choosing Director what it takes to get the best one

The India Saga Saga |

  1. What do you look for in a script?

It should be an interesting one, not a regular one. As I have already mentioned in my other interviews I make movies with a message to society and if I get something like that I take it.

2. How do you select a director?

I look at his work background, his movies, if his movies are hit then the budget part and at times it happens when producer and director don’t gel together. In order to make a good movie, proper chemistry & understanding is required between the both.

3. What checks and balances do you when managing budgets?

First, we plan a movie in such a way that it should be released in it designated time, if not we always keep a backup plan so that we should not come into any constraints. We plan our budget in such a way that even if the release delays for a day or two we will be in a position to cover our expenses without any hassles. Luckily we have a great team working with me.

4. Have you ever had to handle a difficult conflict in your career? What did you learn from it?

Yes, many times. Look when you step into an unknown city with no prior experience in the industry sometimes you take some decisions which unknowingly you take and get into unwanted trouble. In my situation luckily I didn’t been a victim though I took some wrong decisions, the only thing I learned from my mistakes was not to repeat them twice.

5. What methods do you use to communicate effectively with directors, actors, crew members, and writers to discuss details of a production?

The vision should be clear and you must have thorough knowledge about the project you are going to work in. I think that makes the communication a lot easier and it comes slowly along with the experience in the field.

6. How do you go about establishing deadlines for a project, and what do you do to keep it on schedule?

Every project is different; some takes time some can be managed in short time. Each project has a different deadline. We have a team of experienced & hard working people with us and thus we fit in the window and finish our projects within the time frame.

7. Given the choice, would you prefer to miss a deadline to make a project perfect or meet a deadline but compromise the quality of the production?

I would rather delay the deadline of the project as I believe in quality work. We give our 100% effort to finish the project on time but if by any chance it doesn’t happen we do take time to finish it in a proper manner.

8. What measures you take when you deal with secure financing?

We also look for a proper script; I sit with my team and discuss all the factors of the movie script. It is always good to sit and take second advice.

9. Do you own any other business?

I have formed another company by the Name Rabiyaa International Pvt Ltd where we deal with companies in GCC (Gulf Countries Council – Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain) for Solar Power, Logistics, Coal and Food Items Export/ import.

10. Other than Bollywood what all activities you are into?

Though producing a movie is my passion I am indulged in various social activities and hence below are some of the positions I hold:
State President Delhi- National Consumer Rights & Anti-Crime Bureau (Bhartiya Neeti Ayog)
President of NCP- Granthalaya Vibhaag Andheri Taluka Northwest Mumbai
National President Maharashtra- Beti Bachaao Beti Padhao- Maa Sheeladevi Trust
Maharashtra Prabhari – RN Today Online News Portal
Advisor at Mehar Foundation – Jaipur
Vice President of Uprise India Initiative

Anusha Jain’s photography is creating waves in Across India

The India Saga Saga |

Anusha Jain Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine art photography from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. She worked with a variety of businesses and shot many photos that have been featured in publications throughout the world, including as an assistant photographer for Nylon Germany and Nylon Japan. She also worked for Bella Magazine as an Art Director.

She began photographing beauty throughout her boarding school years to chronicle the events that occurred around her. She always had a camera with her, whether it was for lunch, sports, or even class. She’s always snapping photos. She also enjoys photographing using a film camera and the process of developing a negative film in that one.

She is a photographer located in Kanpur. As a result of the pandemic, Kanpur’s Best Photographer has learned to approach things differently. She prefers to shoot in natural light, to capture moods, and to make her audience feel something when they look at her work.

Food photography

Food photography has become a popular lockdown activity in the last year, and many professional photographers are willingly sharing their knowledge on social media to help beginners improve their skills. Food photography workshops are also becoming more popular as people make use of the extra time they have at home to enhance their abilities.

Kanpur’s best and creative photographer, Anusha Jain, specializes in food photography. According to her, it’s no longer about ‘plopping the food on the plate and shooting a snapshot.’ “They go above and beyond to make their food shine, whether they are specialists or amateurs.” As a short recommendation, she suggests using natural light. Once you’ve mastered the fundamentals of lighting, a good camera will take care of the rest. It is important to establish one’s style and let the picture convey the story.”

She describes herself as a minimalistic photographer when it comes to food and commercial photography. Beautiful cuisine that inspires me and keeps me updated, as I am a foodie who appreciates the process of food preparation, allowing me to style the cuisine.”

Behind the Shadows of Photography

She became enamoured with the technique of capturing images using a camera. Her teacher approached her when she finished the project and said, “Hey, kid, you’ve got a good eye.” You should think about making it a career. “I believe you have a promising future ahead of you.” Everything made sense after hearing that. She concluded that I wanted to spend the rest of my life working with my camera. Then, during the second week of school, I spent all of my money buying my first camera.

Portrait photography is a passion for her

She was enthralled by the beauty that the world had to offer when she first got her camera. She took macro shots of flowers, images of her home, corporate events, and portraits, among other things. She adds, “Before picking up a camera, she was bashful and nervous.” I began to take self-portraits as I proceeded through the process, and I grew to like the art form. I took pictures of myself since I was the only one I felt safe speaking to or highlighting.”

Over the next few years, she progressively acquired confidence in herself as a photographer and as a person. Her most recognizable and powerful personality quickly became the focal point. It was always by her side at pleasant times and gave her a place to express herself. After several seasons of merely photographing herself, she got the confidence to start photographing other people.

Creativity

She applied to consider the legendary artists who came before her and learn what made them so beautiful while she was just starting to make her own and discover her passion for photography. Photographers such as Richard Avedon, Annie Leibowitz, and Steve McCurry were major influences. She was able to analyze the work of each artist and extract elements that she eventually incorporated into her style. The way Richard Avedon communicated with his subjects and elicited genuine, unguarded feelings from them pulled her in.

Intensification

Anusha Jain says, “I spent every hour of my spare time developing my capabilities after discovering that it wasn’t the gear that was preventing me from generating amazing work.” I did dozens of sessions a month, spent many hours on the internet researching lighting, Photoshop, and other photography-related topics, and then applied what I learned on my shoots. Taking action was crucial to the success of my project. Then it occurred to me that this was only the beginning. Seeing how much effort I had put in compared to how far I still had to go was tremendously motivating.”

“If you want to achieve in this field, you must be loyal to yourself,” Anusha Jain advises. Only you can do it better than anyone else. The only thing that will set your work apart from others is being distinctive and honest to yourself. In terms of being the best version of yourself, the only competition you have is with yourself. Instead of wasting time pursuing someone else’s goals, concentrate on your own.

Business savvy Sumit Singh Gandhi introduces the concept of Workvacation

The India Saga Saga |

Everyone enjoys going on adventures and exploring new places, whether alone or with their loved ones. However, vacationing becomes more difficult as everyone is devoted to some form of employment. But what if you were offered the opportunity to work while travelling? No one, without a doubt, will pass up such an opportunity. Living the same dream, Sumit Singh Gandhi, a businessman by profession, has travelled to many locations while managing his job.

A business-savvy turned traveller, Sumit is a founder of CATKing, an ed-tech company. When paired with a strategic vision, the organisation believes and has the potential to revolutionise the way education is viewed around the world. They want to raise educational standards in India by focusing on a single vision: people empowerment.

Graduating from NIT Karnataka with a Bachelor’s degree in technology, he went on to study MBA at SP Jain in Mumbai as well. After that, he worked at GE for a few years before deciding to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School.

The Road less taken

For many people, working in the corporate world becomes monotonous, and they are in desperate need of a break. Sumit, faced with a similar dilemma, came up with the idea of a term work vacation as a way to enjoy himself while working. On a work vacation, one should unwind and have fun while aiming to achieve the proper balance between work and personal life.

He has been to 29 nations with this notion in mind, each of which has presented him with a unique experience. He has greatly enjoyed each of his adventures, from the streets of Paris to trekking in Himachal Pradesh. For him, travel implies much more than simply going somewhere to see something and then returning; it means a lot more.

Sumit is an avid traveller who appreciates seeing new places throughout the world. If you see him, he’ll be carrying a lonely planet guide to the country or city he’s visiting because he enjoys learning about new locations and their histories.

Workvacation- A new way of adventure

Sumit’s goal is to create a workstation culture where people may relax without being distracted from their tasks. He not only knows a lot about travel, but he has also helped a lot of people prepare for entrance exams like the CAT, GMAT, and others.

Believing that he is not a tourist but a traveller he said, “ Traveling gives me delight to this day and I can never get weary of it or the experiences I gain via these trips.”
He has garnered numerous awards, including ‘Leader in Digital Engagement Strategy Consulting (Engage7x) 2019’, ‘Digital Entrepreneur of the Year Awarded for Skill Development & Employability by Times Network, Digital India Summit 2016’, and others, owing to his extensive understanding in his industry.

For its efforts, his online coaching institute has received numerous awards, including the ‘Best Online CAT Coaching in India 2020,’ the ‘Management Coaching Institute of the Year – Entrepreneur India Education Congress 2018,’ the ‘Coaching Institute Of The Year 2017 – Higher Education Review,’ and others.

As a TEDx Speaker on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership, he has also inspired young minds at IIM Calcutta and NMIMS. At the NASSCOM Product Conclave, the US Embassy’s Social Media Summit, and the MET Hyderabad’s Tech-Innovation Summit, he was also a panellist.

During the pandemic, he is coordinating a relief drive to generate donations to assist those in need. With a significant following of 24.7k Instagram followers and 98.2k YouTube subscribers on his online coaching sessions where he educates pupils about the entrance exams, he has been pushing individuals to take work holidays. In the future, he hopes to be included on well-known travel websites such as Outlook, Condenast Traveller, and Lonely Planet.

“Right now, there are a lot of travel bloggers in the sector aiming to outshine each other by producing new or unique content, and I’m really excited to see that. Everyone, regardless of how many followers they have, is an inspiration.  I’m simply delighted to see people doing what they love,” he added regarding bloggers.

Looking at his profile, it’s clear that he understands how it feels to be working while on vacation.

Tedhe Medhe Raste Podcast series turns travel into a micro-experience, says Keshav Chaturvedi

The India Saga Saga |

Keshav Chaturvedi is a communications professional and a writer. He is also an environment enthusiast, a photographer, and a traveller by passion. He recently launched an audio travel show with a podcast major – IVM Podcasts – called “Tedhe Medhe Raaste”.

Here he narrates his travel experiences in India and abroad. In this interview, he talks about more than two decades of his travel and the impact it had on him.

Q: What can we expect in your travel podcast “Tedhe Medhe Raaste”?

A: This travel podcast is aimed at those listeners who want to relive a place through the stories and the experiences that a traveler shares. Instead of sharing information about where to stay, how to reach or what is the best time to visit, my podcast aims at information about the soul and pulse of the place.

It’s a completely new medium and format and the main aim is to create a visual through words for the listeners – one that can transport them to that place and share the experience.

Another thing that makes this podcast series unique is that it turns travel into a micro-experience. It’s not that it doesn’t talk about a city; but more than that, it talks about certain facets which may include a fort, a road, a person or a process, a product or a practice that in some cases doesn’t exist anymore. For example, in one of the podcasts, I talk about a car race championship that doesn’t exist anymore; or life at a place where there was no electricity some years ago, but is now fully electrified, but that’s how the experience becomes unique.

Q: There is no dearth of travel shows on YouTube and also many travel podcasts are also making waves but it begs a question – why should we travel at all?

A:  Travelling is as innate a nature in humans as the urge to settle down. It’s latent in all of us. Human race grew because it kept moving from one place to another. It was essentially a fearless species. Getting out of Africa and then spreading all over the globe settling down in harsh terrains is what makes us unique. Other than humans, all the animal and fish species generally live in their ecosystem and rarely venture out. Whenever they do, it is generally under duress or faced with a loss of habitat. But the humans by instinct keep exploring the frontiers. It’s almost a visceral need – as the opening lines of famous TV series Star Trek said: “..to boldly go where no man has gone before.” This is trademark human instinct.

If the humans stop travelling and exploring their surrounding they will start to decay. That’s why, traveling is so important. In modern times there is very little that’s left to explore. But the people must go out and see new places or connect with the nature in order to discover their own abilities, their resilience and experience the immensity and the power of nature. This way they will truly appreciate the progress our forefathers made and we will also learn to respect nature, in which we live.

Q: Do you think COVID-19 pandemic will change the travel habits of people?

A: It’s a question I keep hearing from many travel enthusiasts and professionals from travel industry. My take is, in the short run yes. It will definitely restrict people’s movement. There will be protocols in place, like maintaining social distancing (though I prefer the term physical distancing, which it actually is), wearing masks and it is likely that some places may be out of bounds for some time and restrictions on the number of people at a particular place is also a probability. But if history is any indication, once the full vaccination achieves critical mass (close to 60 percent) people will revert to their old habits and the travelling may once again be back with a bang, nearly one and a half years from now.
