Keshari Nath Tripathi, 88, a veteran BJP Leader who was three-time Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and who also held post of Governor of West Bengal, died on Sunday due to prolonged illness. 

Incumbent Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath was seen paying his homage and tribute to the Veteran BJP Leader from UP, Keshari Nath Tripathi, who died at the age of 88 due to prolonged illness. Tripathi, who has held different positions in his long political career such as the speaker of UP Legislative Assembly, Governor of West Bengal, Bihar, Meghalaya and Mizoram,was hospitalised a few days ago after he fractured his hand and for treatment of age-related ailments as well. However, he was discharged from the hospital three days back. On Sunday, the news came that he passed away at his residence in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. 

The mortal remains of KN Tripathi were cremated with full state honours at the Daraganj ghat later on Sunday evening and UP CM Yogi Adityanath was present at the final cremation of veteran BJP leader. Neeraj Tripathi, the son of KN Tripathi, lit the funeral pyre in the presence of few other family members that included both his daughters, daughter-in-law and sons-in-law. Apart from them, senior district level officials and several other senior BJP leaders including present and former MPs, seers, members of the lawyer fraternity and Tripathi’s old friends were also present at the Daraganj Ghat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow and described Tripathi as the key man in building the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.Taking it to Twitter, PM Modi tweeted “Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi Ji was respected for his service and intellect. He was well versed in Constitutional matters. He played a key role in building BJP in UP and worked hard for the state’s progress. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

KN Tripathi was born on November 10, 1934 in  UP’S Prayagraj district and was also a senior advocate at the Allahabad High Court. At the age of 12, he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and later switched to Bharatiya Jana Sangh. In 1953, he was sent to Naini Central Jail in 1953 for participating in the ‘Kashmir Andolan’ and again in 1990, he was jailed a second time for participating in the mega Ram Janmabhoomi movement.

Tripathi was a proactive leader who was admired across ranks and files in the Saffron Party. The former Governor of West Bengal was elected as an MLA for the first time in 1977 from Jhunsi Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district. Later, he went on to win six more Assembly elections and his last victory was in 2002 from Allahabad South seat in Prayagraj. He contested the 2007 and 2012 Assembly polls too but faced defeat both the times.

When he was in the chair of the Governor of West Bengal at the Raj Bhawan in Kolkata, he shared quite an eye-to-eye relationship with Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee who accused the Governor of threatening her over a call regarding the riot in North 24 Parganas. Tripathi, however, denied the allegation. Mamata, on Sunday, Tweeted “I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi ji, former Governor of West Bengal. A man of great substance, his contributions to our country will remain etched in all our minds. I pray his soul rests in peace.”

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and other leaders also condoled Tripathi’s death and offered tributes.

The Apex Court has put a stay on the Eviction of 50,000 people in Haldwani and has noted that the issue has an ‘Human Angle’ attached to it.

The Supreme Court Thursday put a hold on the Eviction Drive in Haldwani. Stating that 50,000 people from 4,000 families cannot be evicted in a week’s time, the Apex Court stopped the order issued by the Uttarakhand High Court that had given a green signal for eviction.

The Apex Court stated, “There cannot be uprooting of 50,000 people overnight… It’s a human issue, some workable solution needs to be found. Referring to the suggestion by the High court of using force to evict the people, the Supreme Court said, “It may not be correct to say that paramilitary forces have to be deployed to remove people who have been living there for decades.”

With the order issued by the Supreme Court, there is a sign of relief and joy among the families residing in the encroached land that belongs to the Railways. Fatima Khatoon, a 26-years-old woman, who was filled with joy, stated, “These are the tears of joy and a sign of relief as all of the families residing here were under great stress. The order by the Supreme Court has brought hope that we will get justice.”

Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice AS Oka of the Apex Court took up the case a day after activist-lawyer Prashant Bhushan made a formal request. The court has also put a hold on any construction activity in the area and sought responses from the Railways and the Uttarakhand government. It also said the case will be heard again next month.

The area in Haldwani covers a 2-km strip of land near the Haldwani railway station – Gafoor Basti, Dholak Basti and Indira Nagar, in Banbhulpura area. Besides houses – nearly half of the families claim to have a land lease – the area even has four government schools, 11 private schools, a bank, two overhead water tanks, 10 mosques, and four temples, besides shops, built over decades.

Pathaan Censor Board Report gets leaked online. In a picture that went viral has brought CBFC under a lot of criticism from the people. The pic had the complete list of cuts and modifications recommended by the Central Board of Film Certification regarding the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan starrer- Pathaan.

In a picture that went viral, it can be seen that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has recommended numerous cuts, curtails and modifications in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan that is slated to release on January 25th. As soon as the alleged Pathaan Censor Board Report went viral all over Social Media platforms, reactions started to pour in with people questioning that ‘How did the report went viral?’, ‘Who is behind this?’ and ‘Was this intentional?’ What amused a certain section of people was the fact that though the CBFC has recommended numerous cuts and modifications in the film, they did not suggest any cuts in the scene in which Deepika Padukone was seen wearing an orange Bikini in the steamy song- Besharam Rang.

The pic or the alleged Pathaan Censor Board Report had 12 modifications recommended by the CBFC. These included asking makers to replace the word ‘RAW’ with ‘Hamare’, recommending omitting out sensual shots and dance moves in the song Besharam Rang, revisions in some dialogues including changing the term ‘Langde Lulle’ to ‘Toote Foote’, ‘Ashok Chakra’ to ‘Veer Puraskar’, ‘ex-KGB’ with ex-SBU and ‘Mrs. Bharatmata’ with ‘Hamari Bharatmata.’

Apart from these changes, the word ‘Scotch’ has been asked to be replaced by ‘Drink’ while a text saying ‘Black Prison, Russia’ has to be altered to ‘Black Prison.’ Moreover, the word ‘PM’ is to be replaced by ‘President or Minister’ and the word PMO has to be dropped from 13 scenes in the 146 minutes movie.

Talking about the controversial steamy song ‘Besharam Rang’, as per the picture that went viral, close up shots of buttocks, ‘side pose (partial nudity)’ shots and visuals of sensuous dance movements during the lyrics ‘Bahut tang kiya’ have to be replaced with ‘suitable shots’. The song created quite a buzz with Shah Rukh Khan seen flaunting his 6 pack abs and dancing with a hot-looking Deepika Padukone. However, later, the song became a topic of controversy as various sections of people demanded a ban on the song as Deepika Padukone was seen wearing an Orange Bikini which triggered people.

Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Narottam Mishra has even warned the filmmakers to do some alterations in the song or his government would think about whether to let Pathaan release in MP or not. 

Pathaan is slated to be released on January 25th and stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and is said to have been shot in 8 countries. Salman Khan is also said to have a special cameo appearance in the action-thriller.

The 37-year-old player will be playing outside of Europe for the first time and has won five Ballon d’Or awards and five Champions League titles.  Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United was terminated back in November 2022 after a TV interview where in he criticized manager Erik ten Hag and the Glazer family who are the club owners. It was during the world cup 2022 which was held in Qatar in November and December when Al Nassr, the 18-time Saudi champions made an offer to Ronaldo. In a horrifying incident in Delhi’s Pandav Nagar, a man tried to drag a girl who is said to be 19 years old inside his car and also threatened to throw acid on her.

As India is still recovering from the shocker of the gruesome incident that occured a couple of days ago in Delhi’s Sultanpuri, another bone-chilling incident has been reported in the National Capital, this time in East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar. The man tried to drag a girl who is reported to be 19 years old inside a car. As per the Police, the man also threatened the girl to throw acid at her after she resisted and refused to enter the car. It is also reported that the girl suffered some injuries during the scuffle after the man forcefully tried to pull her inside the car. 

As of now, a case has also been filed and the Delhi Police is also investigating the matter. The India Saga is further awaiting the details as the probe is underway. As soon as the news broke out, Swati Maliwal, the Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women, tweeted “Till now the country is debating on Anjali’s painful death and the news of another atrocity has come from Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area. A man tried to drag a girl inside his car and threatened to burn her with acid when she resisted. The girl has also suffered injuries. How long will this last” (English Translation of her Tweet in Hindi).

The incident from the Pandav Nagar area of East Delhi comes at a time when the entire Nation is in a deep shock and witnessing massive protests over the recent death of a 20-year-old-woman in Delhi’s Sultanpuri area. Anjali Singh, the 20 years old woman died in the early morning hours of the first day of 2023, January 1, after her scooter was hit  by a car which had 5 people inside. Upon being hit, she was dragged for about 13 kilometres for more than an hour under the car from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala. 

The Delhi Police has arrested all 5 accused and the Rohini Court has sent them to a three day Police Custody on Monday.

The Salman Khan- Katrina Kaif is back with Tiger franchise and this time it will be bigger and bolder as Emraan Hashmi is also the part of Tiger 3 which is currently being filmed. Unlike the last two films of the franchise, Tiger 3 will be directed by Maneesh Sharma and not Ali Abbas Zafar. A Korean stunt team has reportedly choreographed the sequences that will be filmed. As per media reports, a mega jail-break scene will be recreated using VFX. Professional body-builder Varinder Singh Ghuman will soon join Salman again at the shooting. Tiger 3 is set to shatter all the previous records at the box-office.

How can 2023 conclude without a massive hit from Shah Rukh Khan? Like we said, it seems 2023 is a SRK Year. Dunki, directed by ace director Rajkumar Hirani, stars SRK, Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani. The movie has widely been shot in the Middle-East and as per reports, Shah Rukh Khan will also be shooting an underwater action sequence. The storyline revolves around the rampant use of an illegal backdoor route called ‘Donkey Flight’ by Indians to immigrate to countries like Canada and USA.
