Entrepreneur Hassan Saleh AlAli enjoys racing, customizing cars, and traveling world

The India Saga Saga |

Today on the show, we’ll talk about Hassan Saleh AlAli. He’s 28 years old and now lives in Dubai. He has always wanted to own a GTR since he was five because it is also beloved by his favorite actor Denzel Washington.

He is an engineer who has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Petroleum Institute.

He is going to talk about a scenario that everyone may face, or will face in the near future. he had to say a few words on what he believes is the most essential thing someone should do at this time, whether he’s seeking work, starting his own business, or anything else.

However, he was a little discouraged owing to the lack of fresh employment leads. My mentor, CEO, and founder of Kloudout Yohanes Zedwdu Mr.Hajjaj, who turned his sadness into motivation and adversity into opportunity, assisted him in regaining confidence and beginning looking for work on my own. He also has offered him employment as an operation manager, which he had self-appointed himself.

Because of his love for cars, he found various designs, concepts, and manufacturers on the internet of GTRs which were modified by different tuners. However one stood out which was named after my favorite actor Denzel Washington.

It all began when his dad brought home a toy car for him, something like this :

from here on he started showing interest in these things which led to bigger and better toys each time!! The first real car he owned was the Toyota GT86 and then came this beast !! The Nissan GTR (R35) Now that’s what started him into body kits!

This is when Rawr Kit jumped into his life! They were very professional about how they handle their brand, even though he don’t have much experience with body kits

The first time he tried drifting was back in December 2009, where he managed to go sideways within 3 minutes of driving. Extreme love for the art form led me to try it again the next day, but this time he found himself at a loss as to how to control my car’s movement.

After that day he used what he learned from his first attempt and practiced a lot more. He has been going sideways for about 8 months now, where the only thing limiting him now is the car’s traction.

During the Gulf Car Festival in Dubai, he had one experience when he was drifting at 220 kilometers per hour on a bend, the rear wheels gained traction and picked up speed so rapidly that it literally ripped off both front fenders, yet being so close to the curve made my drift manageable. Even though it lacks power (140 horsepower), its weight. The evolution has come too far, his car is currently set up like this :

The only thing I could say is, it’s too slow!!! but at least I can drift and make extremely long drifts.

“The most essential thing is to believe in yourself and what you want to do. This applies to all types of entrepreneurship, whether it’s starting a business, seeking work, or anything else.”

-Hassan Saleh AlAli.

World’s Largest Drug bust: Heroine worth INR 21000 crores seized at Gujarat’s Port

The India Saga Saga |

Almost three tonnes of heroin with a street value of $2.8bn (Rs. 21,000 crores) have been seized from two containers at Adani Group’s Mundra Port from Afghanistan. It is said to be one of the biggest drug busts in India and the world.

The consignment has originated from Afghanistan which is now being ruled by the Islamic militant group, the Taliban. It was shipped to Gujarat on September 13-14 via Iran’s Bandar Abbas Port and was hidden inside the containers of semi-processed Afghan talcum powder, imported by a firm based in Andhra Pradesh.

A Chennai-based couple has been arrested and several Afghan nationals from the Delhi-National Capital Region have been detained by agencies. An officer requesting anonymity said they are being intensively interrogated for possible Taliban-ISI links.

The two containers exported by a Kandahar-based company were searched by DRI on September 16 and 17, on the basis of specific intelligence inputs upon which it found 1,999.58kg of heroin packed in two bags in one container and 988.64 kg heroin in one bag in another container. It was layered between the talc to avoid detection by security and customs officials.

According to reports, DRI had got a tip-off about the consignment and has been working to seize it for the last five days. Mundra port is managed by the Adani Group. It is well known that Afghanistan is the world’s biggest producer of heroin, supplying between 80-90% of global output. Experts even say that heroin production has boomed in Afghanistan in recent years, which further act as aid to fund the Taliban invaded and captured Afghanistan in the month of August.

Hawaiian Poké Bowl is the perfect bowl of food to satisfy your body and mind

The India Saga Saga |

Bringing the much-acclaimed Poké Bowl trend to Belgium is Hawaiian Poké Bowl, a restaurant chain by three young twenty-something entrepreneurs, Ash Shah, Mattijas Hermans, and Albano Gozhina. With an initial foray made in 2018 in the capital city of Antwerp, Hawaiian Poké Bowl is now one of the trendiest places to eat in Belgium.

Although many may consider Hawaiian Poké Bowl to be a bold move the founders say, that this is simply because they aren’t looking at the large scale and have not yet been able to understand the magnitude of the restaurant chain. On any given day around 300 to 400 Poké Bowls are made at each location and there are of course quite a few scattered around the country. They make an annual turnover of 7 million euros in 2020 and have 40 full-time employees since the start of the journey in 2018. As of now, there are 16 established restaurants in and around Belgium with plans of four more to be set up by the end of 2021. This is all part of an elaborate schedule according to which by the end of this year there should be at least 50 stalls. Hermans says that Hawaiian Poké Bowl is nothing but a healthy alternative to a fast-food chain. “Over the next 3 years we want to have 35 restaurants in Belgium and 20 in the Netherlands.”, he adds.

The takeaway boom of the Hawaiian Poké Bowl is one of the winners during the corona crisis. Since the outbreak of a pandemic, the profitable company owners added “We have returned to our core business, but have not closed a single store. We are rewarded for that, if you disappear from the street for three months, you no longer count”. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the company has earned quite a profit and has even opened 10 more stalls. And in times like these, Hawaiian Poké Bowl surely provides a much-needed 20-minute vacation at the beach. This feeling of being at the beach is complemented by the fact that the food is amazingly fresh and made of the best ingredients sourced internationally. And the best part is that your bowl of food is 100% customizable with options for the base, mix in, protein, dressing as well as toppings making it a good alternative even if you are looking for high protein or want to follow a particular diet such as veganism.

“It’s okay to reach out when you need help” says Amrita Sharma, author of “Taken For a Metro Ride”

The India Saga |

Amrita Sharma, author of the book “Taken For a Metro Ride”, talks about several issues in her book, including mindfulness, living in the moment and the value of sharing. But what her book highlights is mental health – an issue which many in India still approach with an Ostrich mindset, by burying our head in the sand and pretending it doesn’t exist.

Excerpts from the interview:

What is the book about?

My book “Taken For a Metro Ride” is about people, about life, about metro rides and also about issues we push under the carpet. In my book, there are two protagonists – one is the girl through whose experiences we learn about life and the other is the metro, which becomes the stage where all different kinds of stories unravel.

Through this book – “Taken For a Metro Ride” – I wanted to integrate personal and impersonal, profound and profane, obvious and the ambiguous, and take the readers on an extraordinary journey, with the metro playing the supporting role in my protagonist’s voyage of self-discovery.

What motivated you to write the book?

All of us travel to work every day and most of us find it difficult to pass the time, especially if the journey happens to be a long one. Most of us end up depending on books, mobile or other gadgets to fill that time. I would do the same, till the time I realised that my eyes got practically no screen break. That’s when I started observing people, listening to their conversations and sometimes just trying to understand the diverse personality types through their varied behaviour patterns. I realised to my surprise that everyone travelling in the metro was a story – and that got me really interested. The book actually encapsulates all those experiences and observations.

Your book highlights the issue of mental health. Please tell us why

Believe it or not, I heard many people talking amongst themselves in the metro how somebody in their family or in their wider circle was ‘depressed” and seeing counsellors and psychologists. They would talk about it in hushed tones and refer to it as if it was some kind of a curse or a contagious disease. That got me thinking. Today, in the stressful life we all live in, depression and mental health are a reality and we cannot hide from it. You never know, but someone in our extended family, our neighbourhood, our wider circle could probably be struggling with it right now, and is afraid to talk about it or seek help because of the stigma still attached to it in India. When it comes to mental health, we seem to behave like the ostrich, thinking that the problem will disappear if we bury our head in the sand and not see it. That is why I decided to weave the issue into my story – to create more awareness about it. Today, there is an urgent need to accept that the issue of mental health exists and needs to be addressed, and that we must empathise with those struggling with it.

What drew you to the issue of mental health?

I have been a student of English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College (LSR) in Delhi and many of the classics introduced me to the workings of human minds and its underlying psychology. I also read several books that touched upon the issue of mental health, including Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger  and of course Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, to name a few. Some recent ones that I read on the subject include The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho. I really feel people should read more on the issue so that they can understand what people with mental health go through.

What would you like to tell our readers?

I would like to tell them three simple things (a) learn to be present in the moment (b) be mindful and aware of people around you  (c) nothing is more precious than your life and your health – both physical and mental.  That’s why it’s absolutely okay to reach out when you think you need help.

Charanjit Singh Channi designated as new CM of Punjab

The India Saga Saga |

In a massive tale of twists and turns and a weekend full of soaring political temperatures in Punjab, finally, the state gets its new Chief Minister in Charanjit Singh Channi. The 49-year-old MLA will be taking the oath today.

Harish Rawat, former Uttarakhand CM, and Congress in-charge of poll-bound Punjab, on Sunday evening, announced that Charanjit Singh Channi will be the new Chief Minister of Punjab after former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, on Saturday tendered his resignation to the new Governor of Punjab, Banwarilal Purohit.

Channi, the new CM designate, who belongs to Ramdasia Sikh Community, will be the first Dalit Sikh leader to become the Chief Minister of the Northern State of Punjab. A 3-time Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Chamkaur Sahib Assembly Constituency in Rupnagar District, Channi was the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Assembly from 2015 to 2016 during the previous SAD-BJP government. Channi has also been a staunch critic of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and was one among the four cabinet ministers who protested against Captain. The new CM-designate had time and again criticized Captain for not doing his work sincerely and not paying any heed to the decisions taken by the Congress party. Channi even went to Dehradun and met Harish Rawat last month.

These developments come after Captain Amarinder Singh submitted his resignation letter to the Governor on Saturday. The former CM, after resigning, gave a slew of interviews to all the major TV channels. He attacked PPCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu aggressively. Captain even said “I feel humiliated but I won’t budge down, I am a soldier and I will fight back. He targeted Sidhu by alleging he has close ties with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Army, and even said Sidhu could be a threat to Punjab and National Security. As per sources, he was likely to resign as he has been miffed with the Congress High Command on how they have promoted Navjot Singh Sidhu and sidelined him. However, Captain has not commented anything on his future prospects in the grand old party except saying “I will discuss everything with my friends, colleagues, and well-wishers and will come to a decision after that.”

Soon after Captain’s resignation, Congress was in a hurdle. Harish Rawat and Ajay Maken, after the CLP meeting on Saturday, said Congress High Command will take the decision on a new CM face. On Sunday afternoon, speculations were that Sukjinder Singh Randhawa will the new Chief Minister but in the early hours of the evening, it was decided that Charanjit Singh Channi, a 49-year-old MLA will be the new CM. This move is seen as a smart attempt to balance the caste equation of the state by making Sidhu, a Jat Sikh, PPCC President as well as catering to the Dalit Community by promoting Channi as the Head of the State.”

Scientists creates all-new white paint that eliminates Air-Conditioner

The India Saga Saga |

Scientists at US university have invented the world’s whitest-ever paint which could help in cooling the heating Earth. With their unique creation, the paint has entered the Guinness World Records as the whitest ever made. A mechanical engineering professor at Purdue University said, “ When they started out, their goal was to create a paint color which would reflect sunlight away from a building. That’s where all the white comes in”.

Through phenomenal reflective properties, the whitest paint from Earth can absorb 98.1 percent sunlight and reflects infrared heat allowing the surface to cool by 4.5C below the ambient temperature minimizing the use of air conditioners. Ruan expressed in a statement, “Applying the paint on an area of about 1,000 square feet could produce cooling worth 10 kilowatts- having more powerful cooling than most powerful air conditioners”.

“Typical commercial white paint gets warmer rather than cooler. Paints on the market that are designed to reject heat reflect only 80-90 percent of sunlight and can’t make surfaces cooler than their surroundings,” Purdue University said in a statement.

“When we started this project about seven years ago, we had saving energy and fighting climate change in mind,” said Ruan, in a podcast episode of “This Is Purdue.”

“Our paint can help fight against global warming by helping to cool the Earth – that’s the cool point,” said Prof Xiulin Ruan at Purdue University in the US. “Producing the whitest white means the paint can reflect the maximum amount of sunlight back to space.”

Some resources have told Purdue Researchers are on their way to collaborate with a company to introduce the supercooling paint in the market. The qualities that are enhancing the value of new paint are a high concentration of barium sulfate, a chemical compound also used in cosmetics, along with different particle sizes of barium sulfate.
