RCB vs MI; El Clasico of IPL

Shubham Tyagi |

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will face each other in the 25th match of IPL 2024 at Wankhede Cricket Stadium, Mumbai. Wankhede is a batting paradise, and the team who batted first tried to put a good score on the board. RCB will try to get back on the winning track and gain momentum because after winning their second match against PBKS, RCB lost three games in a row. On the other hand, Mumbai came here after defeating Delhi Capitals and breaking their losing streak.

The RCB vs. MI encounter is not only a game; it is the El Clasico of IPL, where the rivalry goes beyond the cricket ground. The game also has individual battles. The GOAT, Virat Kohli, will play against Jasprit Bumrah, and the OG of IPL, Rohit Sharma, faces Mo. Siraj.

For RCB, it’s the same old story: They only depend on a single player, and when the team is in trouble, the experienced ones cheer the youngsters from the dugout. MI also needs help with its internal combination. After Hardik Pandya became Rohit Sharma‘s successor, the atmosphere of the dugout is not good.

Mumbai Indians

The OG Hitman started his innings on a very high note, but he did not convert the start into a good run. MI’s batting line-up is filled with raiders who hit the boundaries with ease, and in the last game, they also delivered as per expectations. MI’s bowling is totally dependent on their snipper, Jasprit Bumrah. If they have to perform better, their bowling needs to perform as a unit.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Virat Kohli, the only guy who took RCB on his shoulders for a decade, is a positive outcome for the franchise in the season. The RCB dugout has big names like Faf Duplessis, Maxwell, Cameron Green, Dinesh Kartik, and Mo. Siraj and many more, but VK is the only one who performs when it is required. If RCB wants to break the jinx, then management has to find the perfect team combination, and players need to execute the game plan as per the situation of the game.

Ravindra Singh Bhati; Voice of Barmer-Jaisalmer in Lok Sabha 2024

Shubham Tyagi |

Age is just a number; it has nothing to do with potential; these profound words show the spirit of Ravindra Singh Bhati. Bhati is a former student leader and a Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Sheo Constituency. Coming from a humble background, Bhati started his career as a student leader and became a mass leader for the citizens of Barmer and Jaisalmer. For the local issues, Bhati also filed his candidature from Barmer Lok Sabha in the upcoming elections in 2024.

Bhati as a Student Leader

The youngster always had a close relationship with the BJP from his early days, but his bitterness toward the RSS cost him a ticket to the student union from ABVP. He contested the elections independently, and as they say, destiny supports the brave. Ravindra Singh Bhati emerged victorious and became the first student in the history of JNVU’s student politics to win independently. During his tenure, Ravindra established himself as a voice for students in Rajasthan for his work ethic.

Journey to become an MLA

Following his popularity just before the 2023 state assembly elections, Bhati joined the BJP, but the Bharatiya Janata Party again refused to give him an MLA ticket. Bhati uses this rejection as an opportunity for disaster, and the instance starts the journey of Ravindra Singh Bhati (RAVSA) as a leader of the locals.

Even after the BJP refused, RAVSA filed his nomination independently from the Sheo constituency and won. This makes him the first candidate from Sheo to contest independently and walk on the path of the State Legislative Assembly. At just 26, he also became the youngest MLA in 2023.

After the win, he gained immense popularity in the state. Understanding the needs of voters in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma invited him to dinner. However, due to party politics, the BJP still promoted the defeated candidate, Swaroop Singh Khara, which again soured the relations between the BJP and Bhati.

Nomination of Lok Sabha

On March 14, the Water Supply Department of Rajasthan released a list of approved hand pumps. These were accepted at the request of the local BJP candidate or MLA. Twenty-two hand pumps were approved in the Sheo Assembly of Bhati. It was written in the list that two hand pumps were given from the quota of Bhati, and 20 hand pumps were given from the quota of BJP candidate Swaroop Singh. In such a situation, the people of Sheo felt that their MLA’s work was not being done. Therefore, Bhati decided to teach the BJP a lesson and started his Lok Sabha Campaign.

Bhati’s entry spoiled the BJP’s game. At first, it was a bipolar contest, but right now, it is a triangular contest. Bhati’s popularity could be gauged by the crowd at his nomination meeting. The number of people who were there and the support they showed him reflects Bhati’s acceptance as a leader.

Who is Ravindra Singh Bhati?

Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha seat of Rajasthan has become a sticking point for BJP. Union Minister Kailash Chaudhary is the BJP candidate from here. CM Bhajan Lal Sharma stayed in Barmer for two days to ensure victory. Baba Bageshwar Dham also reached the city. The Defense Minister is coming on April 11. PM Modi’s public meeting is on April 12. Sunny Deol is also coming. All of them are visiting here so that a 26-year-old youth does not harm the politics of the BJP. This is Ravindra Singh Bhati, a young blood who is breaking all the barriers of caste politics and contesting as an independent candidate for this seat.

Six meals of this summer that can dehydrate you

Shubham Tyagi |

6 foods that you should not include in your diet this summer.

For maintaining a good and healthy lifestyle, people often incorporate various foods into their diet. These foods not only help to cool the body but also enhance general wellbeing. But some foods should be avoided during this period since they can cause dehydration by causing the body to produce too much heat. In light of the intense heat and the continuous heat wave conditions that are plaguing many sections of the nation, it is critical to be aware of these foods in order to maintain good health and hydration.

Here are some foods you need to restrict this summer :

  1. Spicy Foods; During the peak of summer it is advisable to avoid food that is spicy. The capsaicin present in spicy foods can have adverse effects on our health. Not only does it contribute to dehydration, but it also raises body temperature that leads to indigestion and discomfort.
  2. Coffee; Coffee is another dehydrating drink that may turn to combat lethargy and drowsiness, including this beverage during the summer months can be detrimental. Coffee acts as a diuretic causing dehydration and elevating body temperature. To safeguard for well being amidst the intense heat it’s best to either avoid coffee altogether or limit its consumption.
  3. Carbonated Drinks; Despite being a popular choice for cooling down this summer, carbonated drinks like soda water can be highly addictive. Not only do these beverages contain excessive amounts of sugar but dehydrates the body. It is important to be mindful of the consumption of soda water in excessive amounts.
  4. Dry fruits; While dry fruits are touted for its nutritional value, on the other hand it is advisable to consume them in moderation during summers. Having them in the morning especially is the best time to kick start your day.
  5. Fried food; Foods that are deeply fried should be avoided during summers such as samosas, French fries. Not only do these contain a heavy amount of sugar in it that contributes to dehydration but are also challenging in digestion especially in summers.
  6. Pickle; Due to their high sodium content, pickles can exacerbate dehydration during the summer season. Additionally, consuming an excessive amount of pickles can lead to indigestion.

Mega Auction for IPL 2025; the future of Rohit Sharma

Shubham Tyagi |

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal recently ended the rumours of an IPL mega auction for the upcoming edition 2025. He said that IPL 2025 will have a mega auction and that we will share the rules and regulations shortly. Until now, there has not been any confirmation of how many players a franchise can retain and what is the luxury of the Right to Match (RTM). In the last mega auction, a franchise could retain up to a maximum of 4 players and had one RTM available in the auction.

This confirmation raised fans’ eyebrows about whether their favourite star would play for the same franchise in the next session. An all-franchise meeting will take place on 16 April, where they can discuss the retention policy and inform the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) about the same.

Now, the future of so many legends is covered with a shadow. Will they continue their IPL run with the same franchise, or will they have a new jersey waiting for them? Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravi Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Andre Russel, Sunil Narine, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the IPL GOATs who spend most of their time with the same franchise.

However, as the boom of youngsters comes every year, and sometimes they can even outshine these legends, looking into the game’s future, it takes a lot of work for these legends to stay home with the same team. One of the most discussed players amid all this conversation is the five-time winning captain and the OG of the IPL, Rohit Sharma.

Future of Rohit Sharma

Every member of the cricket fraternity knows what happened with Rohit Sharma in the trading window in 2024. This elevates the rumours that Rohit Sharma will not be part of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the next edition of the Indian Premier League. Ahead of IPL 2024, there were speculations that some franchises were in touch with Rohit Sharma, but the veteran decided to stay.

Recently, Rohit’s colleague and former IPL legend Ambati Raydu took a dig at MI and suggested the Hitman switch his future to Chennai Super Kings and end his career in the Yellow Sea. Delhi Capitals was also in touch with Rohit Sharma for the trade with David Warner but this did not happen.

Amidst all this, the Lucknow Super Giants is another team that appears thrilled about the idea of signing Rohit, should the chance present itself. In an interview, when Rohit’s name was mentioned, LSG coach Justin Langer seemed excited. He was asked to name one player he would like to see join the team. “I want one guy, please? Who do you think I should have if I could have anyone?” Langer posed this question to the interviewee.” The interviewer added, “We’ve covered most of our bases. However, do you think you can convince Rohit Sharma?” Langer asked, his face lit up with a radiant smile.

“Rohit Sharma? Hehe. We’re heading to Mumbai to pick him up. The coach said, “Well, you better be the negotiator.” Cricket is a game of fairy tales; we never know what will happen in the future; as fans, we can only predict the outcomes. But as of now, Rohit Sharma sealed his honesty and hid it in some corner of his home, Wankhede Stadium, the fortress of Mumbai Indians.

Heat Wave Havoc: Understanding the Growing Health Crisis in India

Roshni Yadav |

A “heat wave” occurs when summertime temperatures in North-Western India are abnormally high—above the average maximum temperature. Heat waves usually happen from March through June; in certain extreme circumstances, they may even last into July. People who live in these areas suffer greatly from the extreme temperatures and the resulting atmospheric conditions, which can sometimes be fatal due to physiological stress.

  • Heat waves are not considered when a station’s maximum temperature reaches 40 degrees Fahrenheit for Plains regions and 30 degrees Fahrenheit for Hilly areas.
  • Heat Wave Departure from normal is 5oC to 6oC when a station’s normal maximum temperature is less than or equal to 40 C.
  • A heat wave departs from normal by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius, and a severe heat wave departs from normal by 6 degrees Celsius or more when a station’s normal maximum temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius.
  • It is appropriate to declare heat waves regardless of the average maximum temperature, provided that the temperature stays at 45 degrees or above.”
  •  Globally, longer, more intense heat waves and daily peak temperatures are becoming more common due to climate change.
  •  India is experiencing increased health risks due to more frequent and intense heat waves, leading to increased deaths.

Due to climate change, longer, more intense heat waves and higher daily peak temperatures are becoming more common globally. India is experiencing increased health risks due to more frequent and intense heat waves, leading to increased deaths.

  • Heat waves can cause dehydration, cramping, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke, among other health effects. The following are the indications and symptoms:
  • Heat cramps: Fever below 39 C, or 102 F, is typically present along with oedema (swelling) and syncope (fainting).
  • Fatigue, weakness, headache, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramping, and sweating are all signs of heat exhaustion.
  • Heat Stoke: Delirium, convulsions, or coma, as well as body temperatures of 40 C, or 104 F, or higher. This illness has the potential to be fatal.

Heat Wave and Health

The timing, severity, and length of a temperature event, the degree of acclimatisation, and the degree to which the local population, institutions, and infrastructure can adjust to the current climate all influence the extent and type of health effects associated with heat. With certain public health initiatives, the detrimental effects of heat on health are predictable and mainly avoidable. All humans are susceptible to a wide range of physiological effects from prolonged exposure to heat, many of which worsen pre-existing conditions and cause premature death and disability.

Some key health impacts of heat are:

  • Exposure to hotter temperatures can lead to sudden heat gain, which compromises the body’s temperature regulation and results in ailments like heat exhaustion, heatstroke, cramps, and hyperthermia.
  • Heat-related deaths and hospital admissions can happen very quickly (on the same day) or slowly (over several days), which can hasten death or illness in the already fragile. This is especially noticeable in the early stages of heat waves.
  • Extreme temperature variations can exacerbate long-term health issues, such as diabetes-related disorders and diseases of the heart, lungs, and brain.
  • Important indirect health effects of heat are also present. Heat can affect how people behave, how diseases spread, how well health services are provided, and how clean the air is.

CBSE to bring Changes in Exam pattern for Class 11 and 12

Shubham Tyagi |

The Central Board of Secondary Education introduces revisions to the exam format for grades 11 and 12.

CBSE has issued an order to all connected schools regarding assessment and evaluation processes for the academic year 2024-25. The annual tests for classes 11 and 12 have undergone some significant changes. The CBSE had indicated modifications for the academic session 2024-25, notably in the composition of question papers for the 11th and 12th board examinations.

For classes 9 and 10, the question paper stays unchanged from the previous academic session, including competency-focused questions in MCQs, Case-Based Accounting for 50%, select response type questions for 20%, and constructed response questions for 30%. While the number of select response questions continues at 30% in classes 11 and 12, there is a movement in competency-centred questions, sourced-based questions, or any other type from 40% in the academic year 2023-24 to 50% and constructed response questions by the current trend.

Changes have been made to conform with the 2020 National Education Policy, emphasising Competency-Based Education in schools. The CBSE is actively implementing measures to align assessment with NEP objectives. This entails creating example tools for teachers and students and providing educators with ongoing capacity development.

Meanwhile, the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) announced today that the new textbook aligned with NCF-SE 2023 for class 3 will be available by April and for class 6 by mid-May 2024.
